Publication number: 20240397520Abstract: An approach to reduce the signaling overhead for tracking reference signal (TRS) configuration signaling to idle and inactive user equipments (UEs) operating in a wireless communication system. Conventional signaling approaches require more bits that can be conveyed in the maximum system information block (SIB) message size. One proposed approach optimizes the signaling by removing unnecessary or redundant information, using a single TRS configuration to replace multiple configurations, size reduction in some fields, and the sharing of some fields across different TRS configurations. Another proposed approach uses an SIB message to carry the TRS configurations for a particular beam or subset of beams. These two proposed approaches may be combined to provide further optimization possibilities.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2024Publication date: November 28, 2024Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Fangli XU, Sethuraman GURUMOORTHY, Huaning NIU, Yushu ZHANG, Chunhai YAO, Wei ZENG, Haitong SUN, Weidong YANG, Dawei ZHANG, Sigen YE

Publication number: 20240389942Abstract: An integrated window for a photosensor for use in an electronic device has first and second transparent regions separated by an opaque region. The first transparent region allows a transmitter to emit light out of the housing of the electronic device and the second transparent region allows a receiver to receive light through the housing. The opaque region is disposed between the first and second transparent regions to isolate them from one another such that the transmitted light is isolated from the received light.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2024Publication date: November 28, 2024Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Adam T. Publication number: 20240394950Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for concurrently presenting two synchronized animations based on an input value that is received through an input interface of a device. The method defines, based on the received input, a first animation that presents a first animated object, and then uses a set of attributes of the first animation to define a second animation that presents a second animated object. The method then displays at least portions of the first and second animations concurrently. In some embodiments, the method displays the first and second animations on a display screen of the device, or on a display screen connected to the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2024Publication date: November 28, 2024Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventor: Sean P. Patent number: 12153154Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for determining transit routes through crowd-sourcing, for determining an estimated time of arrival (ETA) of a vehicle of the transit route at a given location, and for providing predictive reminders to a user for catching a vehicle of the transit route. A server receives signal source information about wireless signal sources detected by user devices, including information about a first wireless signal source detected by some devices. The server determines that the first wireless signal source is moving. The server determines that the first wireless signal source is associated with a public transit route upon determining that the signal source information satisfies one or more selection criteria. The server stores information associating the first wireless signal source with the public transit route as transit movement data corresponding to the public transit route.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2021Date of Patent: November 26, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: François M. Patent number: 12156114Abstract: Systems and methods for using a relay user equipment (UE) to transport data of interest received from a first remote UE to a second remote UE on a UE to UE relay within a wireless communication system are discussed herein. These methods may be performed at Layer 2 of a protocol stack of the wireless communication system. Data packets sent on the UE to UE relay may include an adaptation header including routing information (e.g., Layer 2 addresses, a bearer-specific index, etc.) for the UE to UE relay. An adaptation layer may accordingly be provided within Layer 2 to decode these adaptation headers. In some cases, a per-bearer approach may be used to map between individual direct bearers of a hop by hop path configuration of the UE to UE relay. Embodiments eschewing the adaptation header and instead using logical channel identifiers (LCIDs) to make routing indications are also described.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2023Date of Patent: November 26, 2024Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Zhibin Wu, Chunxuan Ye, Dawei Zhang, Fangli Xu, Haijing Hu, Haitong Sun, Wei Zeng, Yuqin Chen
