  • Patent number: 12093775
Abstract: An electronic device displays a media capture user interface that includes a media capture preview of objects in a field of view of the camera. While displaying the media capture user interface, the electronic device scans the field of view of the camera for data encoded in an optical machine-readable format. In accordance with a determination that the field of view of the camera includes data encoded in the optical machine-readable format that meets respective notification criteria, the electronic device displays a notification that indicates that the camera application has detected data encoded in the optical machine-readable format. In accordance with a determination that the field of view of the camera does not include data encoded in the optical machine-readable format that meets the respective notification criteria, the electronic device maintains display of the media capture user interface of the camera application without displaying the notification.

  • Patent number: 12094069
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to techniques for presenting a combined view of a virtual environment and a real environment in response to detecting a transition event associated with an object in the real environment. While presenting the combined view, if an input of a first type is detected, the combined view is adjusted by increasing the visibility of imagery of the virtual environment and decreasing the visibility of imagery of the real environment. If an input of a second type is detected, the combined view is adjusted by decreasing the visibility of the imagery of the virtual environment and increasing the visibility of the imagery of the real environment.

  • Patent number: 12092829
Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a left display and a right display that provide respective left and right images. Left and right optical combiner systems may be configured to pass real-world light to left and right eye boxes while directing the left and right images respectively to the left and right eye boxes. Misalignment of the left and right images with respect to the left and right eye boxes may be detected using gaze tracking systems, using cameras such as front-facing cameras in conjunction with a database of known real-world object properties, using visual inertial odometry systems formed from cameras and inertial measurement units, or using one or more sensors in a portable head-mounted device case or other item with a receptacle configured to receive a head-mounted device. Compensating adjustments may be made to the images based on the measured misalignment.

  • Patent number: 12093446
Abstract: A direct retinal projector may include a gaze tracking system that tracks position of a subject's pupil and automatically adjusts projection of a scanned light field so that the light field enters the pupil. A control loop adjusts a scanning mirror to substantially center an IR beam on a position sensing detector (PSD). In so doing, the scanning mirror is correctly positioned so that the scanned light field from the projector enters the subject's pupil. In addition, a direct retinal projector may include an adjustable focusing element that adjusts focus of a combined light beam generated by a projector as the light beam is scanned to an ellipsoid mirror that reflects the light beam to the subject's pupil. The focusing of the scanned beam may be adjusted as the beam is scanned across the azimuth angle of the curved ellipsoid mirror.

  • Patent number: 12093454
Abstract: An electronic device that includes a display and an eye tracker configured to collect eye tracking data regarding a gaze of one or more of a user's eyes across the display is disclosed herein. The electronic device includes processing circuitry that is operatively coupled to the display and configured to foveate one or more areas of the display according to the eye tracking data. If the eye tracking data input is lost, the processing circuitry is configured to recover from the loss of eye tracking data by changing one or more aspects of the foveated areas (e.g., size, resolution, etc.) until a threshold is satisfied. As time elapses since loss of eye tracking, the foveated areas move toward a center or a salient region of the display.

  • Patent number: 12094184
Abstract: Feature descriptor matching is reformulated into a graph-matching problem. Keypoints from a query image and a reference image are initially matched and filtered based on the match. For a given keypoint, a feature graph is constructed based on neighboring keypoints surrounding the given keypoint. The feature graph is compared to a corresponding feature graph of a reference image for the matched keypoint. Relocalization data is obtained based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 12095939
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for connecting third-party accessories to a cellular-capable device to participate in a telephone call. In one example, a user can voice a request to make a call to an accessory device. The accessory device can transmit the request to a controller device. Upon processing the request, the controller device can identify an appropriate cellular-capable device and instruct the cellular-capable device to place the requested call. The controller device can also instruct the cellular-capable device to establish an audio connection with the accessory device to relay the call audio. In another example, the controller device can listen for a word spoken at the accessory device indicating the end of the call. Upon receiving the end of call word, the controller device can instruct the cellular-capable device to terminate the call. While in the listening state, the controller device may continue processing user requests received at other accessory devices.

  • Patent number: 12092750
Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring at and reporting by a target user equipment (UE) of one or more positioning signals sent from one or more assisting UEs to the target UE are disclosed herein. The target UE may receive a positioning signal from an assisting UE according to a communication received at the target UE. The target UE may proceed to perform a positioning measurement using the positioning signal received from the target UE. The positioning measurement may be used by the target UE to estimate its own position, or the positioning measurement may be sent to another entity within a wireless communications system to be used in estimating the physical position of the UE. The handling of multiple received positioning signals from various sources, and the handling of situations where, for example, a transmission reception point (TRP) and an assisting UE may schedule overlapping positioning signals, ate also discussed.

  • Patent number: 12096044
Abstract: In communication applications, aggregate source image data at a transmitter exceeds the data that is needed to display a rendering of a viewport at a receiver. Improved streaming techniques that include estimating a location of a viewport at a future time. According to such techniques, the viewport may represent a portion of an image from a multi-directional video to be displayed at the future time, and tile(s) of the image may be identified in which the viewport is estimated to be located. In these techniques, the image data of tile(s) in which the viewport is estimated to be located may be requested at a first service tier, and the other tile in which the viewport is not estimated to be located may be requested at a second service tier, lower than the first service tier.

  • Patent number: 12096382
Abstract: An electronic device may include a radio that generates a first maximum power based on a radio-frequency exposure (RFE) budget. The radio may transmit signals subject to the first maximum power during a subperiod of an averaging period and may generate an instantaneous RFE metric value based on an antenna coefficient and the conducted transmit power of the antenna during the subperiod. The radio may generate a consumed RFE value by averaging the instantaneous RFE metric value with previous instantaneous RFE values from the averaging period, may generate a remaining budget based on the consumed RFE value, may generate a second maximum transmit power based on the remaining budget, and may transmit signals during a subsequent subperiod subject to the second maximum power. Time-averaging the RFE metric may serve to optimize performance of the radio relative to scenarios where the radio performs time-averaging of conducted TX power.
