  • Patent number: 12079350
Abstract: In an embodiment, a system is provided in which the private key is managed in hardware and is not visible to software. The system may provide hardware support for public key generation, digital signature generation, encryption/decryption, and large random prime number generation without revealing the private key to software. The private key may thus be more secure than software-based versions. In an embodiment, the private key and the hardware that has access to the private key may be integrated onto the same semiconductor substrate as an integrated circuit (e.g. a system on a chip (SOC)). The private key may not be available outside of the integrated circuit, and thus a nefarious third party faces high hurdles in attempting to obtain the private key.

  • Patent number: 12080033
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a hybrid image compression technique. The technique may be used to reduce the size of sparse binary images in a lossless fashion for transmission over a low-bandwidth channel and using less power. In embodiments, a received image is partitioned into pixel blocks. Sequences of empty blocks are encoded as a skip counter that indicates the length of the sequence. Non-empty blocks are encoded using one of several block encoding techniques selected based on the length of the resulting block encoding. In embodiments, a loss report may be included in the compressed data stream if blocks are lost due to buffer overflow. In embodiments, the block skip counter is encoded using a variable length code that maps more common skip values to shorter bit widths. In embodiments, the variable length code may be changed periodically to adapt to the characteristics of recent images.

  • Patent number: 12082086
Abstract: The subject matter described herein presents various technical solutions for the technical problems facing autonomous vehicles (e.g., fully autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles). To address technical problems facing wireless communication cost and latency, a heterogeneous roadside infrastructure can be used to improve the ability for a vehicle to communicate with a data source. To address technical problems facing interruption of vehicle services due to an abrupt loss of connection, a quality of service system provides the ability to determine and share quality of service information, such as location-based information, maps, interference data, and other quality of service information. To address technical problems facing high volume data upload and download between autonomous vehicles and cloud-based data services, optical wireless communication (OWC) provides increased data throughput and reduced complexity, and may be beneficial for short-range high-mobility wireless communications.

  • Patent number: 12081311
Abstract: A communications system may include user equipment (UE) devices, communications satellites, gateways, and a terrestrial network. The UE devices may receive broadcast signals from the constellation. The UE devices may transmit registration requests to the gateways via the satellites in response to the broadcast signals. The registration requests may include information identifying the geographic locations of the UE devices and may include two-line element (TLE) identifiers. A scheduler on the terrestrial network may receive forward link traffic requests for the UE devices, each with a corresponding priority. The scheduler may also receive satellite information that includes thermal constraints, position information, and power information associated with the satellites. The scheduler may generate forward link traffic grants for the UE devices based on the forward link traffic requests, the thermal constraints, the TLE versions, the geographic locations, and the priorities.

  • Patent number: 12078914
Abstract: Various embodiments include a locking mechanism for a camera. The locking mechanism may be used to provide a clamping force that prevents one or more components of the camera from moving along one or more axes in some examples. According to various embodiments, the locking mechanism may include a ferromagnetic plate fixedly attached to a carrier (e.g., a lens carrier, an image sensor carrier, etc.), an electromagnet for electromagnetically interacting with the ferromagnetic plate, and a flexure to which the electromagnet may be attached. The flexure may further be attached to a stationary structure of the camera. In some embodiments, the camera may be operable such that, in a lock mode of the camera, the electromagnet is electrically driven to generate a magnetic field that attracts the ferromagnetic plate, thereby providing a clamping force that prevents the carrier from moving along an optical axis of the camera.

  • Patent number: 12079915
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for concurrently presenting two synchronized animations based on an input value that is received through an input interface of a device. The method defines, based on the received input, a first animation that presents a first animated object, and then uses a set of attributes of the first animation to define a second animation that presents a second animated object. The method then displays at least portions of the first and second animations concurrently. In some embodiments, the method displays the first and second animations on a display screen of the device, or on a display screen connected to the device.

  • Patent number: 12079934
Abstract: A hierarchical sphere and/or hierarchical disk distribution is used to re-sample points of a point cloud to achieve a well distributed re-sampled point distribution. The re-sampled points are represented by integer values defining a given partition in which a respective re-sampled point resides and an index value. The index value identifies a sphere (or disk) within the given partition to which the re-sampled point belongs. The spatial location of the resampled point is determined based on the location of the partition to which the re-sampled point belongs and the location of a sample bin (e.g. sphere) in the partition having an index value communicated for the re-sampled point.
