Abstract: A media streaming method is disclosed in which a network environment of a sink device engaged in media streaming is estimated and at least two network throughput estimates are developed. A first network throughput estimate may be estimated from a measurement of network performance and a second network throughput estimate may be developed from a correlation of the estimated network environment to a machine learning model representing network throughput predictions. A final throughput estimate may be developed from the first and second network throughput estimates; and a representation of media content may be selected for retrieval based on the final throughput estimate.

Abstract: A system for gathering fixation distance calibration data may include eyeglasses with adjustable lenses and an electronic device with a depth sensor. During fixation distance calibration operations, a user wearing the eyeglasses may view the electronic device while the electronic device provides instructions for the user to hold the electronic device at different distances from the user. At each distance, a depth sensor in the electronic device may determine the distance to the eyeglasses and a camera in the eyeglasses may be used to determine a distance between the user's pupils. The calibration measurements may be used to generate calibration data that maps different pupil locations to different fixation distances. The calibration data may be stored in the eyeglasses so that control circuitry in the eyeglasses can determine a user's fixation distance and adjust lens power accordingly without requiring an outward facing depth sensor in the eyeglasses.

Abstract: Systems and methods for electronic displays to use reference voltages to control driving current of illuminators are provided. The reference voltages are used to reduce or eliminate cross talk in driving voltages among different illuminators and driving voltage variations from frame to frame. The transient performance of the driving current of the illuminator (e.g., the current rise/decline time, current overshoot issue, current settling time) may be improved by implementing the reference voltages.

Abstract: Robust estimation of a characteristic of a user's physiological signals can be achieved by filtering or classifying samples. Rather than estimating the characteristic of the user's physiological signals based on each sample at a first wavelength and a second wavelength, a robust system and method can, in some examples, estimate the characteristic using samples at the first wavelength and the second wavelength that meet one or more criteria and filter out samples that fail to meet the one or more criteria. In some examples, the system and method can weight samples based on the one or more criteria, and estimate the characteristic using the weighted samples. Samples failing to meet the one or more criteria can be given less weight or no weight in the estimation. The one or more criteria can include a criterion based on at least the physiological signal at a third wavelength.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods for synthesizing an environment based on an image. In various implementations, a device includes a non-transitory memory and one or more processors coupled with the non-transitory memory. In various implementations, a method includes determining an engagement score that characterizes a level of engagement between a user and a representation of a subject included in an image. In some implementations, the method includes, in response to the engagement score satisfying an engagement threshold, obtaining stored information regarding the subject, and synthesizing an environment based on the image and the stored information regarding the subject.
Abstract: In some implementations, a method includes obtaining an end state of a first content item spanning a first time duration. In some implementations, the end state of the first content item indicates a first state of a synthesized reality (SR) agent at the end of the first time duration. In some implementations, the method includes obtaining an initial state of a second content item spanning a second time duration subsequent the first time duration. In some implementations, the initial state of the second content item indicates a second state of the SR agent at the beginning of the second time duration. In some implementations, the method includes synthesizing an intermediary emergent content item spanning over an intermediary time duration that is between the end of the first time duration and the beginning of the second time duration.
Abstract: A user equipment (UE), or other network component can operate to configure different sets of resources including different sequence lengths for an uplink (UL) transmission via a UL channel. A first length or at least one of different second lengths can be selected to configure the UL transmission based on one or more conditions, which can include a coexisting radio access technology (RAT), a UE capability, an occupied channel bandwidth (OCB), the type of UL transmission or the like. The UL transmission can be based on at least one of: the first or the second sequence length such as for an initial access procedure based on the coexisting RAT and the OCB, for example.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for determining synchronization signal block (SSB) periodicity for cell reselection. In some embodiments, user equipment (UE) may establish a first connection with a first integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node using a first SSB periodicity. The UE may perform a cell reselection process and determine whether a number of candidate IAB nodes include a candidate IAB node with a previously stored candidate SSB periodicity corresponding to the candidate IAB node. If the UE identifies a candidate SSB periodicity, the UE may establish a second connection with the candidate IAB node using the candidate SSB periodicity. If the UE does not identify a previously stored candidate SSB periodicity, the UE may establish a second connection with a second IAB node using a second SSB periodicity that is less than the first SSB periodicity.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to determine a UL spatial relation for an UL transmission in response to an unknown UL spatial relation switch. The UE may determine whether the UL spatial relation is based on an SRS transmission in UL, a CSI-RS in DL, or an SSB in the DL. If the UL spatial relation is based on the SRS transmission, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission corresponding to a Tx beam of the SRS transmission. If the UL spatial relation is based on the CSI-RS or the SSB, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission based on whether the unknown UL spatial relation switch is due to a corresponding resource for beam training not being configured by a communication network or a corresponding beam information being expired.

Abstract: The embodiments set forth a technique for coordinating notifications across computing devices placed onto a wireless charging apparatus. According to some embodiments, the technique can involve the wireless charging apparatus (1) receiving, from a first computing device, first information that includes (i) a first unique identifier (ID) associated with the first computing device, and (ii) one or more unique IDs that are each associated with a respective auxiliary computing device known to the first computing device. Subsequently, the wireless charging apparatus can receive, from a second computing device, second information that at least includes a second unique ID associated with the second computing device. Finally, the wireless charging apparatus can, in response to determining that the second unique ID is included in the one or more unique IDs, and cause both the first and second computing devices to display respective notifications in a coordinated manner.

Abstract: A temperature sensor circuit is disclosed that uses multiple bipolar devices to generate a proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT) current and a complementary to absolute temperature (CTAT) current. A difference in the PTAT and CTAT current is evaluated using a feedback loop of an amplifier circuit which alternatively charges and discharges a capacitor to create a time-varying analog signal. A comparator circuit compares the analog signal to threshold values to generate an output digital signal whose duty cycle varies with temperature.
Abstract: A photonics package may include a substrate, a hanging connector, and a fast-axis collimator (“FAC”). The hanging connector is typically affixed to a side of the substrate other than the side through which a light output is emitted. The hanging connector may be L-shaped in cross-section, having a base section and an extended section projecting from the base section. The base section affixes to the substrate while the extended section affixes to the FAC, so that the FAC extends downward along the emitter surface of the substrate; a vertex of the FAC is coplanar with an emitter outputting the light output.
