Abstract: A freeform folded optical system that include two freeform prisms with optical power. At least one of the freeform prisms is configured to fold the optical axis twice. Thus, embodiments of the freeform folded optical system fold the optical axis three or four times. Folding the optical axis three or four times in the freeform prisms allows for long focal lengths required for telephoto lens applications without requiring additional lens elements between the prisms. In addition, the configuration of the freeform folded optical system provides reduced Z-axis height when compared to conventional folded lens systems with similar optical characteristics.
Abstract: Connector assemblies and contacts that can be moisture-resistant, light-weight, space efficient, and can be readily manufactured. The connector assembly can be formed of two or more materials that can be molded together to reduce the chance of leakage at seams between the two materials. One of the two materials can have an affinity for plating materials while the other material can have an aversion to plating materials. The first material can be plated and used as contacts, while the second can resist plating and can be used to separate regions of the first material into two or more contacts.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to thermal control implemented by a power management unit. In some embodiments, the power management unit itself is configured to monitor thermal conditions, implement control for one or more thermal loops, and send reduction alerts, via an inter-chip interconnect, to the processor circuitry it powers. In some embodiments, the power management unit implements both thermal and electromigration control loops. Disclosed techniques may advantageously reduce or avoid thermal issues, potentially with reduced impact on processor performance relative to traditional techniques.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that determine an orientation of a three-dimensional (3D) model with respect to a global reference direction. For example, an example process may include obtaining an image from an image sensor, determining an orientation of the image sensor with respect to the direction of a celestial element, determining an orientation of the image sensor with respect to a global reference direction based on the orientation of the image sensor with respect to the direction of the celestial element and a relationship between the direction of the celestial element and the global reference direction, obtaining a 3D model of the physical environment, determining an orientation of the image sensor with respect to the 3D model, and determining an orientation of the 3D model with respect to the global reference direction.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining a user focus indicator value that is associated with a subject. A plurality of filter values for a respective set of media content filters are determined based on the subject and contextual data. The method includes delivering, based on a first combination of the filter values, a first set of media content items associated with a first combination of content delivery mediums. The method includes delivering, based on a second combination of the filter values that is different from the first combination, a second set of media content items that is associated with a second combination of content delivery mediums that is different from the first combination of content delivery mediums. The second set is different from the first set.
Abstract: Touch detection includes obtaining image data for a finger and a target surface, and determining a touch region in the image data on which the fingertip makes contact with the target surface. A pointing direction of the finger in the image data is determined, and a target region is estimated on the target surface based on the touch region and the pointing direction, wherein the touch region comprises a portion of the target surface that extends from the touch region in a direction of the pointing direction.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication in wireless local area networks (WLANs). According to some embodiments, a downlink OFDMA frame may be transmitted. An uplink OFDMA frame including acknowledgements associated with the downlink OFDMA frame may be received. The uplink OFDMA frame may be processed, in some instances including determining which devices receiving the downlink OFDMA frame transmitted an acknowledgement associated with the downlink OFDMA frame in the uplink OFDMA frame.
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods for pose estimation using one point correspondence, one line correspondence, and a directional measurement. In various implementations, a device includes a non-transitory memory and one or more processors coupled with the non-transitory memory. In some implementations, a method includes obtaining an image corresponding to a physical environment. A first correspondence between a first set of pixels in the image and a spatial point in the physical environment is determined. A second correspondence between a second set of pixels in the image and a spatial line in the physical environment is determined. Pose information is generated as a function of the first correspondence, the second correspondence, and a directional measurement.

Abstract: An AR system that leverages a pre-generated 3D model of the world to improve rendering of 3D graphics content for AR views of a scene, for example an AR view of the world in front of a moving vehicle. By leveraging the pre-generated 3D model, the AR system may use a variety of techniques to enhance the rendering capabilities of the system. The AR system may obtain pre-generated 3D data (e.g., 3D tiles) from a remote source (e.g., cloud-based storage), and may use this pre-generated 3D data (e.g., a combination of 3D mesh, textures, and other geometry information) to augment local data (e.g., a point cloud of data collected by vehicle sensors) to determine much more information about a scene, including information about occluded or distant regions of the scene, than is available from the local data.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a lenticular display. The lenticular display may have a lenticular lens film formed over an array of pixels. The display may have a number of independently controllable viewing zones. Each viewing zone displays a respective two-dimensional image. Each eye of the viewer may receive a different one of the two-dimensional images, resulting in a perceived three-dimensional image. The electronic device may include display pipeline circuitry that generates and processes content to be displayed on the lenticular display. Content generating circuitry may initially generate content that includes a plurality of two-dimensional images, each two-dimensional image corresponding to a respective viewing zone. Pre-processing circuitry may subsequently anisotropically resize each two-dimensional image. Pixel mapping circuitry may then be used to map the resized two-dimensional images to the array of pixels in the lenticular display.
