  • Patent number: 11627314
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress attribute and/or spatial information for a point cloud and/or a decoder configured to decompress compressed attribute and/or spatial information for the point cloud. To compress the attribute and/or spatial information, the encoder is configured to convert a point cloud into an image based representation. Also, the decoder is configured to generate a decompressed point cloud based on an image based representation of a point cloud. In some embodiments, an encoder applies an attribute transfer function to attributes of an image based representation with out-of-loop smoothing such that a decoder may apply any smoothing filter supported by the decoder without being restricted to using a similar smoothing filter as the encoder.

  • Patent number: 11625866
Abstract: An encoder is configured to compress point cloud geometry information using an octree/predictive tree combination geometric compression technique that embeds predictive trees in leaf nodes of an octree instead of encoding additional octree occupancy symbols for the leaf nodes. Alternatively an encoder may be configured to embed octrees in leaf nodes of a predictive tree structure. Similarly a decoder is configured to generate a reconstructed three-dimensional geometry from a bit stream including combined octree and predictive tree encoding information.

  • Patent number: 11625156
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can simulate a virtual parallax to create three dimensional effects. For example, the computing device can obtain an image captured at a particular location. The captured two-dimensional image can be applied as texture to a three-dimensional model of the capture location. To give the two-dimensional image a three-dimensional look and feel, the computing device can simulate moving the camera used to capture the two-dimensional image to different locations around the image capture location to generate different perspectives of the textured three-dimensional model as if captured by multiple different cameras. Thus, a virtual parallax can be introduced into the generated imagery for the capture location. When presented to the user on a display of the computing device, the generated imagery may have a three-dimensional look and feel even though generated from a single two-dimensional image.

  • Publication number: 20230103399
Abstract: A camera system may include one or more voice coil motor (VCM) actuators to implement focus, tilt and shift functions. The VCM actuators may include coils segmented into multiple coil segments having individually impedances lower than the impedance of the respective coil as a whole. The coil segments may be individually driven by respective currents at different points in time to interact with magnet(s) to produce motive forces along the same axis. Based on the winding configuration and driving mode of the coil segments, the motive forces may move a lens group relative to an image sensor in a direction substantially orthogonal to an image plane, tilt the lens group relative to the image sensor, or shift the image sensor relative to the lens group on the image plane.

  • Publication number: 20230105762
Abstract: An approach is described for a wireless device comprising a transceiver and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. In a thread-based device, a thread radio coexists with a primary radio, such as a Bluetooth or WiFi radio. Because both radio share a common frequency band, the thread radio requests grants from the primary radio for transmission and reception. So as to avoid bogging down the primary radio, the thread radio throttles its requests. Specifically, the thread radio tracks certain variables indicative of the number of requests that have been made within a time window and the types of requests that have been made to the primary radio. By limiting the number of total requests and the number of requests of each type within the time window, the thread radio avoids overburdening the primary radio.

  • Patent number: 11620021
Abstract: Cross-coupling correction techniques on a touch sensor panel can be improved using machine learning models (particularly for touch sensor panels with relatively low signal-to-noise ratio). In some examples, the machine learning model can be implemented using a neural network. The neural network can receive a touch image and perform cross-coupling correction to mitigate cross-talk due to routing traces of the touch sensor panel. Mitigating cross-talk can improve touch sensing accuracy, reduce jitter, and/or reduce false positive touch detection.
