Patent number: 11340725Abstract: A force input sensor includes a load cell to adapt a compressive force applied to the force input sensor into a strain experienced by a strain sensor in the load cell. In particular, the load cell includes two compression plates separated from one another by a gap so as to define a volume between them. A flexible substrate (a “diaphragm”)—includes a strain sensor and is disposed and supported within the volume. One of the two compression plates includes a feature (a “loading feature”) that extends toward a central region of the flexible substrate. As a result of this construction, when the compression plates receive a compressive force, the loading feature induces a bending moment in the flexible substrate, thereby straining the strain sensor.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Andrew Deng, Travis N. Publication number: 20220159768Abstract: This disclosure provides techniques for recovery techniques to address link failure in multi-hop backhaul relay network. For example, a central unit (CU) node receives, uplink transmissions originating from a user equipment (UE) via a backhaul relay including a first distributed unit (DU) node and a second DU node. The CU then receives a first UL status message associated with a link failure between the first DU node the second DU node. Then the CU generates a second UL status message indicating a sequence number (SN) of a lost packet caused by the link failure or a SN of a last successfully received packet before the link failure, and transmits the second UL status message to the first DU node.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 25, 2020Publication date: May 19, 2022Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Jing ZHU, Murali NARASIMHA

Publication number: 20220159747Abstract: Embodiments of the current disclosure facilitate the creation of a wireless connection between a host device and an accessory device over a wireless medium. For instance, according to some embodiments, a method of connecting an accessory device to a host device includes transmitting a plurality of advertising beacons over a wireless medium. Each wireless beacon can contain information identifying a predetermined time when the accessory device will begin a page scan. The accessory device can begin the page scan at the predetermined time and can receive pages from a host device during a page scan window of the page scan over the wireless medium. The received pages can then be subsequently used to establish an ad hoc network connection between the accessory device and the host device.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: May 19, 2022Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventor: Sriram HARIHARAN

Publication number: 20220155603Abstract: A mixed reality system including a head-mounted display (HMD) and a base station. Information collected by HMD sensors may be transmitted to the base via a wired or wireless connection. On the base, a rendering engine renders frames including virtual content based in part on the sensor information, and an encoder compresses the frames according to an encoding protocol before sending the frames to the HMD over the connection. Instead of using a previous frame to estimate motion vectors in the encoder, motion vectors from the HMD and the rendering engine are input to the encoder and used in compressing the frame. The motion vectors may be embedded in the data stream along with the encoded frame data and transmitted to the HMD over the connection. If a frame is not received at the HMD, the HMD may synthesize a frame from a previous frame using the motion vectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2022Publication date: May 19, 2022Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Geoffrey Stahl, Avi Bar-Zeev

Publication number: 20220159044Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for supporting delay budget information in IMS systems. Requests for DBI are received by a first node, contained within a SIP message. This can be achieved by filling a feedback field within the signal with a delay budget indicator. The first node analyzes the received signal in order to determine whether DBI is being requested. Based on this analysis, a request signal is forwarded to a second node, which carries out resource reservation. The request signal can be based on a H.248:Add.req message. In this manner, DBI can be signaled and supported even without dedicated DBI messaging.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2020Publication date: May 19, 2022Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventor: Ozgur OYMAN
