  • Patent number: 11337098
Abstract: Techniques for channel state information (CSI) reporting are discussed. One example apparatus at a user equipment can derive, for one or more subframes of a license assisted access (LAA) secondary cell (SCell), one or more channel measurements based on reference signals (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS) or CSI reference signals (CSI-RS)), in those subframes; generate CSI that comprises a channel quality indicator (CQI) based on an average of the one or more channel measurements from multiple subframes comprising a first subframe and a later second subframe, wherein each orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of a second slot of the first subframe is occupied, wherein each of a first three OFDM symbols of the second subframe are occupied, and wherein each OFDM symbol between the first subframe and the second subframe is occupied; and generate a CSI report that indicates the set of CSI parameters.

  • Publication number: 20220149918
Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for use in a wireless network for configuring and implementing secondary cell beam failure recovery procedures. For example, some embodiments are directed to a user equipment (UE) that includes radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry coupled to the radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to detect that a first beam associated with a secondary cell (SCell) is misaligned. The first beam is associated with a first reference signal (RS). The processor circuitry can further be configured to configure a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure for the SCell and perform the BFR procedure to replace the first beam with a second beam, wherein the second beam is associated with the SCell.

  • Publication number: 20220150809
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to selecting a Local Management Function (LMF) in a wireless communication network, a next generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) acquires a capability from a user equipment (UE), the capability indicating whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in Radio Access Network (RAN). An access and mobility management function (AMF) is then notified whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in RAN. An LMF selection is then received from the AMF. Then a response is transmitted to the UE based on the received LMF selection, the response indicating whether a positioning procedure to be carried out by the UE is based on LMF in RAN. In this manner, the capabilities of the UE are taken into consideration when selecting an LMF for a positioning procedure.

  • Publication number: 20220150950
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for communicating in a wireless network based on a prioritization status. User equipment can receive a first signal that includes an indicator. The UE can determine a prioritization status for a second signal based on the prioritization indicator. The UE can communicate, with one or more radio access networks (RANs) of a network, the second signal, where the timeline of the second signal can be out of order respective of other signals communicated by the UE and the wireless network. The second signal can include data transmitted by an ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) service. The UE can communicate the second signal out of order with respect to one or more additional signals. The UE, based on the indicator, can communicate hybrid automated repeat request (HARQ) feedback before a HARQ feedback timeline of a non-urgent transmission.

  • Patent number: 11329801
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for generating and utilizing improved initialization vectors (IVs) when performing encryption and authentication in wireless communications. In some scenarios, a wireless communication device may generate one or more pseudorandom multi-bit values, e.g., using a respective plurality of key derivation functions (KDFs). A first portion of each value may be used as a respective key for encryption or authentication of traffic on the user plane or the control plane. A second portion of each value may be used as a nonce value in a respective IV for use with a respective key for encryption or authentication of traffic on the user plane or the control plane. In some scenarios, the nonce values may instead be generated as part of an additional pseudorandom value (e.g., by executing an additional KDF), from which all of the IVs may be drawn.

  • Patent number: 11328481
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein generate a mesh representing the surfaces in a physical environment. The mesh is generated using multi-resolution voxels based on detected depth information, e.g., from a depth camera. The techniques may use multiple hash tables to store the multi-resolution voxel data. For example, the hash tables may store each voxel's 3D position and a truncated signed distance field (TSDF) value corresponding to each voxels' distance to a nearest surface. Each of the multiple hash tables may include data corresponding to a different level of resolution and those resolutions may depend upon distance/noise or other factors. For example, voxels close to a depth camera may have a finer resolution and smaller size compared to voxels that are further from the depth camera. Techniques disclosed herein may involve using a meshing algorithm that combines multi-resolution voxel information stored in multiple hash tables to generate a single mesh.

  • Patent number: 11327316
Abstract: A head-mountable device can provide an optical module that removes particles from an optical pathway and captures the particles so they do not interfere with the user's view of and/or through optical elements. For example, the display element and/or another optical element can be moved in a manner that releases particles on a viewing surface thereof. The optical module can include a particle retention element that securely retains the particles so that they remain outside of the optical pathway. Such particle removal and retention can improve and maintain the quality of a user's visual experience via the optical module.

  • Patent number: 11329696
Abstract: A wireless power system has a wireless power transmitting device and a wireless power receiving device. The devices in the wireless power system may communicate using in-band communication. The wireless power transmitting device may transmit data to the wireless power receiving device using frequency-shift keying (FSK) modulation. The wireless power receiving device may transmit data to the wireless power transmitting device using amplitude-shift keying (ASK) modulation. While transmitting data to the wireless power receiving device using FSK modulation, the wireless power transmitting device may monitor for ASK modulation from the wireless power receiving device. In response to detecting the ASK modulation from the wireless power receiving device, the wireless power transmitting device may abort the FSK data transmission and process the detected ASK modulation to receive data from the wireless power receiving device.

  • Patent number: 11325491
Abstract: A charging station for an electric vehicle includes a passive alignment mechanism that includes a longitudinal translation stage that allows motion in a longitudinal direction, a charging plug connected to the passive alignment mechanism, and a releasable connector. The releasable connector resists motion of the longitudinal translation stage in a connected position when a magnitude of an external force applied in the longitudinal direction is below a threshold. The releasable connector moves from the connected position to a released position to allow motion of the longitudinal translation stage when the magnitude of the external force applied in the longitudinal direction is above the threshold.

  • Patent number: 11327648
Abstract: While displaying a user interface that includes a plurality of application icons, a first input is detected on a first application icon associated with a first application. If the first input meets application-launching criteria which require that the first input has ended without having met a first input threshold, the first application is launched in response to the first input. If the first input meets menu-presentation criteria which require that the first input meets the first input threshold before an end of the input is detected, a contextual content object and a respective affordance that is associated with the contextual content object are concurrently displayed in response to the first input. The contextual content object includes contextually selected content automatically selected from the first application. The respective affordance, when activated, is configured to add the contextual content object to a user interface that includes information for multiple applications.
