Abstract: Techniques are provided for utilizing a hybrid of ultra-wideband (UWB) and narrowband (NB) signaling to provide more efficient operating range and operating efficiency. In one example, a first device may transmit a first packet via an NB signal to a second device, whereby the first packet comprises information indicating to the second device a time period for reception of a second (UWB) packet. In this example, the second packet may comprise a first partition and a second partition, whereby the first partition comprises a first plurality of fragments and the second partition comprising a second plurality of fragments. The respective fragments of each plurality of fragments may be transmitted via a UWB signal. The first device may then transmit the first plurality of fragments, and then subsequently transmit the second plurality of fragments to the second device, the first and second pluralities respectively being associated with different fragment types.

  • Publication number: 20220140967
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for a user equipment (UE) for a wireless communication system. The UE determines at least one sidelink primary synchronization signal (S-PSS) sequence of at least one S-PSS signal. The at least one S-PSS sequence is different from a primary synchronization signal (PSS) sequence. The EE also determines at least one sidelink secondary synchronization signal (S-SSS) sequence of at least one S-SSS signal. The EE determines a plurality of S-PSS symbols and a plurality of S-SSS symbols corresponding to a sub carrier spacing (SCS). The EE transmits to another EE the determined plurality of S-SSS symbols after the determined plurality of S-PSS symbols. The SCS may be associated with a physical resource block (PRB) allocation size. A maximum of 11 PRBs for a sidelink synchronization signal block (S-SSB) may be set based on the SCS.

  • Publication number: 20220141738
Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for applying mobility robustness optimization (MRO) and automatic network slice creation in 5G Self-Organizing Networks (SON). A network system may identify user equipment (UE) performing a handover from a first node to a second node. The network system may apply a MRO function to identify a target parameter corresponding to the handover. The network system may monitor connection measurements and/or radio link failure reports to identify the handover as failing to meet the target parameter. The network system may then modify the target parameter to facilitate the handover to the second node. For the automatic creation of a network slice instance (NSI), a network system may receive network slice specifications and apply the specifications to an automatic NSI creation function. The network system may instantiate network functions according to the automatic NSI creation function to create an NSI.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for use in a wireless network for compression and decompression of information centric network (ICN) names and/or ICN common fields at Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. For example, an electronic device can include processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry coupled to the processor circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to receive a first information centric network (ICN) packet including an ICN name or an ICN common field and compress the ICN name or the ICN common field at a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. The processor circuitry can be further configured to provide the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field to a lower protocol layer. The radio front end circuitry can be configured to transmit a second ICN packet including the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field.

  • Publication number: 20220137625
Abstract: Signals usable to determine a path of a vehicle towards a particular stopping point in a vicinity of a destination are detected from an individual authorized to provide guidance with respect to movements of the vehicle. Based at least in part on the signals and a data set pertaining to the external environment of the vehicle, one or more vehicular movements to be implemented to proceed along the path are identified. A directive is transmitted to a motion control subsystem of the vehicle to initiate one of the vehicular movements.

  • Patent number: 11320509
Abstract: An electronic device may use information about the location of nearby devices to make sharing with those devices more intuitive for a user. The electronic device may include control circuitry, wireless circuitry including first and second antennas, and motion sensor circuitry. The control circuitry may determine the location of a nearby electronic device by calculating the angle of arrival of signals that are transmitted by the nearby electronic device. To obtain a complete, unambiguous angle of arrival solution, the electronic device may be moved into different positions during angle of arrival measurement operations. At each position, the control circuitry may calculate a phase difference associated with the received signals. Motion sensor circuitry may gather motion data as the electronic device is moved into the different positions. The control circuitry may use the received antenna signals and the motion data to determine the complete angle of arrival solution.
