  • Patent number: 11223899
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to user interfaces and techniques for managing audio exposure using a computer system (e.g., an electronic device). In accordance with some embodiments, the electronic device displays a graphical indication of a noise exposure level over a first period of time with an area of the graphical indication that is colored to represent the noise exposure level, the color of the area transitioning from a first color to a second color when the noise exposure level exceeds a first threshold. In accordance with some embodiments, the electronic device displays noise exposure levels attributable to a first output device type and a second output device type and, in response to selecting a filtering affordance, visually distinguishes a set of noise exposure levels attributable to the second output device type.

  • Patent number: 11221962
Abstract: A system and method for efficiently transferring address mappings and data access permissions corresponding to the address mappings. A computing system includes at least one processor and memory for storing a page table. In response to receiving a memory access operation comprising a first address, the address translation unit is configured to identify a data access permission based on a permission index corresponding to the first address, and access data stored in a memory location of the memory identified by a second address in a manner defined by the retrieved data access permission. The address translation unit is configured to access a table to identify the data access permission, and is configured to determine the permission index and the second address based on the first address. A single permission index may correspond to different permissions for different entities within the system.

  • Patent number: 11223020
Abstract: A display may have an array of organic light-emitting diodes that form an active area on a flexible substrate. Metal traces may extend between the active area and an inactive area of the flexible substrate. Display driver circuitry such as a display driver integrated circuit may be coupled to the inactive area. The metal traces may extend across a bend region in the flexible substrate. The flexible substrate may be bent in the bend region. The flexible substrate may be made of a thin flexible material to reduce metal trace bending stress. A coating layer in the bend region may be provided with an enhanced elasticity to allow its thickness to be reduced. The flexible substrate may be bent on itself and secured within an electronic device without using a mandrel.

  • Patent number: 11221355
Abstract: Methods and systems for compensating display panel operations providing a current from power circuitry over a first path between a display panel and the power circuitry are provided. A sensing current may be injected into the first path via a second path between the power circuitry and the first path. An equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the first path may be calculated using a third path and the sensing current. A processor may compensate for electrical fluctuations from the power circuitry to the display panel based at least in part on the measured ESR.

  • Patent number: 11222652
Abstract: A learning based system such as a deep neural network (DNN) is disclosed to estimate a distance from a device to a speech source. The deep learning system may estimate the distance of the speech source at each time frame based on speech signals received by a compact microphone array. Supervised deep learning may be used to learn the effect of the acoustic environment on the non-linear mapping between the speech signals and the distance using multi-channel training data. The deep learning system may estimate the direct speech component that contains information about the direct signal propagation from the speech source to the microphone array and the reverberant speech signal that contains the reverberation effect and noise. The deep learning system may extract signal characteristics of the direct signal component and the reverberant signal component and estimate the distance based on the extracted signal characteristics using the learned mapping.

  • Patent number: 11224089
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to connect to a primary cell serving a primary component carrier (PCC) in the licensed spectrum and a secondary cell serving a secondary component carrier (SCC) in an unlicensed spectrum. The UE is configured with a Connected Discontinuous Reception (C-DRX) functionality including an onDuration. The UE determines a first duration based on an amount of time between when a first operation related to an exchange of data over the SCC is to be performed and when the exchange of data over the SCC is likely to occur, determines whether the exchange of data over the SCC is likely to occur during the onDuration based on the first duration and when the exchange of data is unlikely to occur during the onDuration, delays when the first operation is to be performed to cause the exchange of data over the SCC to occur during the onDuration.

  • Patent number: 11221513
Abstract: An electronic device includes display layers such as liquid crystal display layers and a backlight unit that provides illumination for the display layers. The backlight unit includes light-emitting diodes that emit light into the edge of a light guide film. To minimize the inactive area of the display, the light-emitting diodes are tightly spaced to approximate a line light source instead of point light sources. Color and/or luminance compensation layers are incorporated at various locations within the backlight structures to ensure that the backlight provided to the display layers is homogenous. A thin-film transistor layer of the display is coupled to a printed circuit board by a flexible printed circuit. The flexible printed circuit has additional solder mask layers to improve robustness, encapsulation, and traces with a varying pitch.
