Patent number: 11131036Abstract: The embodiments described herein relate to anodizing and anodized films. The methods described can be used to form opaque and white anodized films on a substrate. In some embodiments, the methods involve forming anodized films having branched pore structures. The branched pore structure provides a light scattering medium for incident visible light, imparting an opaque and white appearance to the anodized film. In some embodiments, the methods involve infusing metal complex ions within pores of an anodized. Once within the pores, the metal complex ions undergo a chemical change forming metal oxide particles. The metal oxide particles provide a light scattering medium for incident visible light, imparting an opaque and white appearance to the anodized film. In some embodiments, aspects of the methods for creating irregular or branched pores and methods for infusing metal complex ions within pores are combined.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2016Date of Patent: September 28, 2021Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Masashige Tatebe, Jody R. Patent number: 11133696Abstract: A battery case has first and second coils on opposing sides of a battery and has switching circuitry that is coupled between the first and second coils. The battery case has a battery that provides supplemental battery power wirelessly to a wireless power receiving device via the second coil when the switching circuitry is in an open state. The case can also receive power wirelessly with the first coil from a wireless charging mat when the switching circuitry is in the open state. In a closed state, the switching circuitry shorts the first and second coils together so that current flowing through the first coil flows through the second coil in series and so that wireless power from the wireless charging mat that is received with the first coil is transmitted wirelessly to the wireless power receiving device using the second coil.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2019Date of Patent: September 28, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Narendra S. Patent number: 11132454Abstract: A device (e.g., a phone) can be provided by an entity (e.g., a business) to a user (e.g., an employee). The device includes a profile manager that allows the user to configure a personal profile comprising any of applications, settings, and stored data. The device is also configurable with an entity profile determined by the entity that also may include applications, settings, and stored data. The user can select from operating modes comprising at least a personal mode, and a unity mode; an entity mode also may be available for selection. The profile manager, based on the selected mode, determines whether entity profile data and applications are available to the user, and which applications from either profile may conduct user-perceptible activities. The profile manager may periodically verify entity profile rights with a server, and if verification fails, then the profile manager can restrict entity profile data and applications access, regardless of operating mode.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2018Date of Patent: September 28, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventor: Sam Gharabally

Patent number: 11129057Abstract: User equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for active bandwidth part (BWP) switching, the processing circuitry is to decode RRC signaling configuring a plurality of BWPs for the UE. The RRC signaling further includes an indicator for an initial BWP of the plurality of BWPs for initial use by the UE as an active BWP. DCI received on a PDCCH is decoded, which includes a BWP indicator for switching the active BWP from the initial BWP to another BWP of the plurality of BWPs. RF and baseband parameters to switch the active BWP from the initial BWP to the another BWP are reconfigured. Reconfiguring the RF and baseband parameters cause an interruption of one or more slots of a serving cell of the UE. A starting time of the interruption is within a time duration of a BWP switching delay supported by the UE.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2019Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Andrey Chervyakov, Rui Huang, Yang Tang, Jie Cui, Yuhan Zhou
