Abstract: Techniques for processing task items are provided. A task item is electronic data that represents a task to be performed, whether manually or automatically. A task item includes one or more details about its corresponding task, such as a description of the task and a location of the task. Specifically, techniques for generating task items, organizing task items, triggering notifications of task items, and consuming task items are described. In one approach, a task item is generated based on input from a user and context of the input. In another approach, different attributes of task items are used to organize the task items intelligently into multiple lists. In another approach, one or more criteria, such as location, are used to determine when to notify a user of a task. In another approach, actions other than generating notifications are enabled or automatically performed, actions such as emailing, calling, texting, and searching.

Abstract: Closed loop performance controllers of asymmetric multiprocessor systems may be configured and operated to improve performance and power efficiency of such systems by adjusting control effort parameters that determine the dynamic voltage and frequency state of the processors and coprocessors of the system in response to the workload. One example of such an arrangement includes applying hysteresis to the control effort parameter and/or seeding the control effort parameter so that the processor or coprocessor receives a returning workload in a higher performance state. Another example of such an arrangement includes deadline driven control, in which the control effort parameter for one or more processing agents may be increased in response to deadlines not being met for a workload and/or decreased in response to deadlines being met too far in advance. The performance increase/decrease may be determined by comparison of various performance metrics for each of the processing agents.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to various implementations that dynamically adjust one or more shallow depth of field (SDOF) parameters based on a designated, artificial aperture value. The implementations obtain a designated, artificial aperture value that modifies an initial aperture value for an image frame. The designated, artificial aperture value generates a determined amount of synthetically-produced blur within the image frame. The implementations determine an aperture adjustment factor based on the designated, artificial aperture value in relation to a default so-called “tuning aperture value” (for which the camera's operations may have been optimized). The implementations may then modify, based on the aperture adjustment factor, one or more SDOF parameters for an SDOF operation, which may, e.g., be configured to render a determined amount of synthetic bokeh within the image frame.

Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and methods for enhanced discontinuous reception (DRX) operations for inter eNB carrier aggregation (CA) in an LTE network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a UE is configured to be served by multiple serving cells. The first set of the serving cells may be associated with a first eNB and a second set of serving cells may be associated with a second eNB. In these embodiments, DRX operations may be performed independently in multiple serving cells belonging to the different eNBs. Other embodiments for enhanced DRX operations are also described.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for indicating a preference to receive a single-user multiple input multiple output (SU-MIMO) or multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission from an access point (AP). Embodiments include generating a standard action frame that contains an action field that species a preference to receive a SU-MIMO or MU-MIMO transmission from the AP. A station (STA) can transmit the generated action frame to the AP. The STA can receive an acknowledgement frame from the AP that indicates the AP is configured to use the requested transmission method. The STA can then receive data from the AP using the requested transmission method.

Abstract: An apparatus for use in a serving gateway user plane (SGW-U) of an evolved packet core (EPC) of a wireless communication network is disclosed. The apparatus comprises one or more processors configured to process a downlink (DL) data signal comprising a DL data packet for a user equipment (UE) in the network, buffer the DL data packet in the DL data signal and identify a serving gateway control plane (SGW-C) associated with the SGW-U that serves the UE, when the UE is in idle mode. The one or more processors is further configured to provide an SGW-U DL data notification message to the SGW-C, generated selectively based on a priority of the received DL data signal, in order to inform the SGW-C about the availability of DL data for the UE.
Abstract: The present technology provides a purchasing interface within an application that allows users to purchase a product from another source without leaving the application. The application offers a product for purchase, and a user, desiring to purchase the product can provide an input effective to cause a purchasing interface to be displayed. While the purchasing interface, or information presented therein, comes from the product source, which is different than the application source, it is presented in such a fashion that gives the impression to the user that they are purchasing the product directly from the application.

Abstract: Pacer activity data of a user may be managed. For example, historical activity data of a user corresponding to a particular time of a day prior to a current day may be received. Additionally, a user interface configured to display an activity goal of the user may be generated and the user interface may be provided for presentation. In some aspects, the user interface may be configured to display a first indicator that identifies cumulative progress towards the activity goal and a second indicator that identifies predicted cumulative progress towards the activity goal. The cumulative progress may be calculated based on monitored activity from a start of the current day to the particular time of the current day and the predicted cumulative progress may be calculated based on the received historical activity data corresponding to the particular time of the day prior to the current day.

Abstract: An electronic device: displays a website settings interface provided to edit a plurality of a presentation settings for at least one website among a plurality of websites within a web browsing application, including concurrently displaying: a first website representation and a user-modifiable control for selecting a first value for a presentation setting for the associated website; and a second website representation and a user-modifiable control for selecting a second value for the presentation setting for the associated website, where the second value is not associated with a previously received user preference and the second value is set according to a predetermined value for the presentation setting; and in response to detecting an input that ceases display of a website associated with the second website representation, ceases to display include the second website representation within the website settings interface.
Abstract: A value of a display property of an affordance changes based a value of the same display property of a portion of content over which the affordance is displayed. The value of the display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a second value range smaller than a first value range over which the value of the display property of the content is permitted to vary. If the change in appearance of the content meets range-switching criteria, the value of the display property of the affordance is changed within a third value range. The third value range is different from the second value range and is smaller than the first value range. If the change in appearance of the content does not meet the range-switching criteria, the value of the display property of the affordance is changed within the second value range.

Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to identify geographic locations of all social media content items retrieved form a social network in real time, wherein the geographic locations are physical locations from which the social media content items are originated or authored. If the latitude/longitude (geographic) coordinates of the content item are available, the geographic location of the social media content item can be identified using such geographic coordinates. For content items which geographic coordinates are not available, historical archive of content items with high-confidence of geographic locations are utilized to train a location classifier to predict geographic locations of such content items with high accuracy. Finally, the identified locations of the content items are confirmed to be accurate and are presented to a user together with the content items.
Abstract: A portable electronic device with a touch screen display displays an incoming message from a party to a user of the device while the device is locked. The device responds to detecting a user request to view the incoming message by immediately displaying a set of messages between the user and the party in a chronological order. While the device is unlocked, if an incoming message is longer than a predefined length the device displays a portion of the incoming message, a view icon, and a long-message indicia. Alternately, if the incoming message is equal to or less than the predefined length, the device displays the entire incoming message and a reply icon. In response to user selection of either the view icon or the reply icon, the device immediately displays a set of messages between the user of the device and the party in a chronological order.
