  • Patent number: 11212917
Abstract: Connector receptacles that may be space efficient and provide a direct connection to a flexible circuit board. One example may provide an electronic device having a receptacle including a recess formed in a housing of the electronic device. The recess may have a sidewall and a bottom surface portion, and the bottom surface portion may include one or more openings extending through the bottom surface portion from an external surface to an internal surface. One or more contacts formed on a flexible circuit board may be aligned with the one or more openings in the bottom surface portion. In this way, the receptacle may be space efficient and provide a direct connection to a flexible circuit board inside an electronic device. A cosmetic cap may be placed in the recess to obscure the existence of the connector receptacle.

  • Patent number: 11212697
Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment (UE) device to adaptively enhance the quality of service (QoS) configuration of a bearer of communications conducted over a cellular network between a UE application and a server. The UE may use various information, including a QoS profile associated with the application, to determine requested QoS parameters and/or whether the UE is permitted to request or access enhanced QoS functionality. The UE may then send a request to the cellular network indicating the requested QoS parameters, and the network may adjust the QoS configuration of the bearer in response. The UE and the network may perform routine QoS measurements and exchange information in order to adaptively maintain and optimize the QoS configuration. These techniques may tend to provide more appropriate QoS to the application, which may improve user experience.

  • Patent number: 11212373
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for efficient data transfer within a user space network stack. Unlike prior art monolithic networking stacks, the exemplary networking stack architecture described hereinafter includes various components that span multiple domains (both in-kernel, and non-kernel). For example, unlike traditional “socket” based communication, disclosed embodiments can transfer data directly between the kernel and user space domains. Direct transfer reduces the per-byte and per-packet costs relative to socket based communication. A user space networking stack is disclosed that enables extensible, cross-platform-capable, user space control of the networking protocol stack functionality. The user space networking stack facilitates tighter integration between the protocol layers (including TLS) and the application or daemon. Exemplary systems can support multiple networking protocol stack instances (including an in-kernel traditional network stack).

  • Patent number: 11209961
Abstract: Devices, methods and graphical user interfaces for manipulating user interfaces based on fingerprint sensor inputs are provided. While a display of an electronic device with a fingerprint sensor displays a first user interface, the device may detect movement of a fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor. In accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a first direction, the device allows navigating through the first user interface, and in accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a second direction different from the first direction, the device allows displaying a second user interface different from the first user interface on the display.

  • Patent number: 11210104
Abstract: A system may include a plurality of processors and a coprocessor. A plurality of coprocessor context priority registers corresponding to a plurality of contexts supported by the coprocessor may be included. The plurality of processors may use the plurality of contexts, and may program the coprocessor context priority register corresponding to a context with a value specifying a priority of the context relative to other contexts. An arbiter may arbitrate among instructions issued by the plurality of processors based on the priorities in the plurality of coprocessor context priority registers. In one embodiment, real-time threads may be assigned higher priorities than bulk processing tasks, improving bandwidth allocated to the real-time threads as compared to the bulk tasks.

  • Publication number: 20210400434
Abstract: A method includes receiving a first instance of code to be simulated for a first mobile device and a second instance of code to be simulated for a second mobile device, and generating, on a graphical user interface, a first representation of the first mobile device and a second representation of the second mobile device. When a request for a ranging measurement between the mobile device representations is received, a first pixel representative of a first location of the first representation and a second pixel representative of a second location of the second representation is determined, and a separation value between the first and second pixels is determined. A ranging value is determined based on the separation value and provided to the first instance of code in response to the request, thereby enabling the first instance of code to simulate a physical ranging measurement between two physical devices.

  • Publication number: 20210397435
Abstract: Techniques are provided for updating firmware of an accessory device. An accessory development kit of the accessory device can communicate with an accessory update daemon using a home management daemon of a controller device. Based at least in part on a firmware update policy of the accessory device, the accessory update daemon will check for firmware updates. When firmware updates are available, the accessory update daemon can instruct the home management daemon to stage the update. The home management daemon will notify the accessory development kit to be in a stage mode. The accessory update daemon will download the firmware update and send the firmware update to the accessory development kit of the accessory device using an interface for the secure channel provided by the home management daemon. The accessory device can be a third party accessory device that does not have its own firmware updating application.

  • Publication number: 20210398144
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can be configured to perform impact-based fraud detection. For example, a computing device (e.g., a network server) can receive user submissions from user devices corresponding to traffic incident reports, point of interest (POI) ratings, product ratings, vendor ratings, and/or other crowd-sourced information. The computing device can identify groups of users based on the user submissions and various grouping criteria. The computing device can determine the impact of these user groups with respect to the targets (e.g., traffic in an area, ratings of a business, etc.) of their user submissions. The computing device can prioritize high impact user groups when attempting to detect fraudulent user group activity (e.g., fraud rings).

  • Publication number: 20210397600
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for ensuring consistent metadata across computing devices. In one example, a user device of a plurality of user devices receives a manifest that includes first metadata associated with a file system update of a file system of the user device. The user device generates second metadata of the file system based on performing the file system update. The user device then generates a dictionary based on comparing metadata records of the first metadata with metadata records of the second metadata. The dictionary may indicate a difference between at least one metadata record of the first metadata and at least one metadata record of the second metadata. The user device then updates the second metadata of the file system to match the first metadata based at least in part on the difference indicated by the dictionary.
