Abstract: Systems and methods for through-display imaging. A display includes an imaging aperture defined through an opaque backing. An optical imaging array is aligned with the aperture. Above the aperture, the display is arranged and/or configured for increased optical transmittance. For example, a region of the display above, or adjacent to, the imaging aperture can be formed with a lower pixel density than other regions of the display, thereby increasing inter-pixel distance (e.g., pitch) and increasing an area through which light can traverse the display to reach the optical imaging array.

Abstract: One or more techniques of authorizing vehicle-to-everything (V2X) in a wireless network are set forth herein. In one example, during an initial registration procedure or an attach procedure, a UE includes its fifth generation (5G) V2X capability in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message to a Mobility Management Entity (MME) or an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). The MME or the AMF stores this information and determines whether the UE is capable of or authorized to use V2X communication subscription information received from a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) or a Unified Data Management (UDM). If the UE is authorized, the MME or the AMF includes the V2X services authorized in a message from the MME or the AMF to an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) or a Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG RAN).
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving determination of encoded image data using a video encoding pipeline, which includes a first transcode engine that entropy encodes a first portion of a bin stream to determine a first bit stream including first encoded image data that indicates a first coding group row and that determines first characteristic data corresponding to the first bit stream to facilitate communicating a combined bit stream; and a second transcode engine that entropy encode a second portion of the bin stream to determine a second bit stream including second encoded image data that indicates a second coding group row while the first transcode engine entropy encodes the first portion of the bin stream and that determines second characteristic data corresponding to the second bit stream to facilitate communicating the combined bit stream, which includes the first bit stream and the second bit stream, to a decoding device.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for automatically mitigating overlapping labels associated with pie charts. In particular, the techniques involve migrating positions of the labels in response to adjustments of the pie chart to ensure that the labels are distributed in a non-overlapping, uniform, and aesthetically-pleasing manner.

Abstract: An electronic device displays an application user interface that includes a representation of a field of view of one or more cameras. The representation of the field of view is updated over time based on changes to current visual data detected by the one or more cameras, and the field of view includes a physical object in a three-dimensional space. While the device is a first distance from the physical object, the device displays a representation of a measurement that corresponds to the physical object, and one or more first scale markers along the representation of the measurement at a first scale. After the device has moved to a second distance from the physical object, the device displays, at a second scale that is different from the first scale, one or more second scale markers along at least a portion of the representation of the measurement.

Abstract: Devices and methods of transmit opportunity (TXOP) with continued listen-before-talk (LBT) are generally described. A user equipment (UE) can be configured to perform a single LBT during an LBT scanning instance, to detect availability of an unlicensed wireless channel. Upon detecting availability of the channel, data is encoded for transmission during a TXOP with a TXOP duration. A pause in the transmission of the data is initiated upon expiration of a first time interval of the TXOP. A continuous LBT procedure is performed upon expiration of the pause, to determine a plurality of sensing metrics indicating occupancy of the unlicensed wireless channel. The transmission of the data is resumed during the TXOP for a second time interval, when at least one sensing metric of the plurality of sensing metrics is below a threshold.

Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) comprises one or more baseband processors to generate a first set of one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages to create a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) and RRC entity at a donor Fifth Generation evolved NodeB (DgNB), and to generate a second set of one or more RRC messages to create a radio link control (RLC) entity at a serving relay node (RN) to couple with the DgNB in a multi-hop relay network, and a memory to store the first set of one or more RRC messages or the second set of one or more RRC messages.
Abstract: Embodiments of a user equipment (UE) and method for resource allocation and device-to-device (D2D) discovery hopping are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the UE may receive signaling from an enhanced node B (eNB) indicating discovery resources to transmit discovery signals on within an LTE operation zone. The discovery resources may include a discovery zone which may comprise a plurality of physical resource blocks (PRBs) and a plurality of subframes. The UE may transmit a discovery signal for receipt by one or more other UEs for D2D discovery within some of the PRBs of the discovery zone. The PRBs for the transmission of the discovery signal may be determined in accordance with a hopping mode to provide increased frequency diversity within a bandwidth of the discovery zone. The hopping mode may comprise intra-subframe hopping, inter-subframe hopping or joint intra/inter-subframe hopping.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to establish a connection with a core network through a base station configured with mixed core network deployment, wherein the base station is communicatively coupled to each of a LTE core network (CN) such as an evolved packet core (EPC) and a 5G CN. The UE determines a preference for establishing a connection with one of the EPC or the 5G CN based on one or more of a device type of the UE, an active data flow running on the UE, an availability of network slices or packet data unit (PDU) sessions through each core network, or historical network performance of a particular CN. The UE transmits a message to the base station indicating the determined preference. The UE subsequently receives a response from the base station establishing a connection with the indicated preferred core network.

Abstract: The subject technology provides a system of devices, at least one of which includes an application configured to receive data directly from another one of the devices. The application is configured to obtain a list of available devices and associated features and provide input options for display based on the list. When one of the input options is selected, the application activates a component and/or an application of the other device for generation of the desired data. When the desired data has been generated by the other device, the generated data is directly input from the other device into the limiting application, without storage of the generated data at the other device, and without operation of the same application on the other device.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for initiating game sessions between subscribers to online gaming services when account IDs of those subscribers are unknown. Such techniques permit a first user to select a second user with whom to play a game from information readily at hand, such as a contact manager that the first user maintains. The first user's device may send a resolution request message to an identity services server that includes contact information of the second user. Contact information may include network-based information regarding the second user, such as the user's e-mail address or phone number. The identity services server may resolve the contact into an account ID. Thereafter, a game launch request may be sent to the game server, which includes the account identifier resolved by the identity services server. An invitation message may be sent to a terminal of the second user to participate in the game and the game may be started.
