Abstract: Implementations of the subject technology provide for receiving a registration request for registering and associating phone numbers for at least one service on a particular device, where the registration request includes information related to a phone authentication certificate (PAC) that was generated for the particular device. The PAC authenticates that each of the phone numbers is associated with the particular device. The subject system performs an authentication of user identifiers associated with the particular device based at least on the PAC. The subject system performs a registration of at least one service for the particular device using the authenticated user identifiers, in which the registration includes at least one respective handle for accessing the at least one service via each respective user identifier. The subject system transmits to the particular device, information related to the at least one respective handle for accessing the service via each respective user identifier.
Abstract: A method for audio signal processing of microphone signals of a headphone. An audio signal from a first microphone of a headphone is filtered by an ANC system to produce a first filtered signal. Dynamic range control is performed upon the first filtered signal to produce a first dynamic range adjusted signal that drives a speaker of the headphone. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A facial recognition authentication process operating on a device may capture an image of a user using a camera on the device. The facial recognition authentication process may include operating a full face facial recognition authentication process on the captured image or operating a partial face facial recognition authentication process on the captured image. The process may determine which process to operate (either full face or partial face) based on an assessment of an amount of occlusion in the captured image. The partial face facial recognition authentication process may be operated when there is at least some occlusion of selected features (e.g., nose and/or mouth) on the user's face in the captured image.

Abstract: A watch band for a watch can include an antenna that is operable for wireless communication with other devices. The antenna can be embedded within a body of the watch band to protect the antenna from an external environment and to conceal it from view. The antennas can adaptably stretch, bend, and flex with the watch band body, thereby avoiding damage from applied forces while also maintaining the compliance and comfort of the watch band while worn by a user.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for identification of macro-cells and subordinate transmission nodes. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus are configured for use within a long term evolution (LTE/LTE-A) network, and include a scrambling technique which can facilitate advanced capabilities in which the subordinate nodes possess unique cell identities from the macro-cell. The use of unique scrambling sequences allows subordinate node switching and other advanced multi-antenna techniques in heterogeneous networks. The disclosed methods and apparatus further allow for distinction and detection of signals transmitted from low-power RRHs, femto-cells, etc. and advantageously achieve greater interference randomization gain.
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to securely receiving and storing credentials. In some embodiments, a computing device includes an application executable to supply a credential to an external system. A secure circuit of the computing device is configured to send, to a credential storage, a request for the credential, the request including a first certificate identifying a first public key and a stipulation to perform a user authentication before permitting use of a first private key corresponding to the first public key. The secure circuit receives, from the credential storage, the credential encrypted using the first public key and, based on the stipulation, performs the user authentication prior to decrypting the credential and supplying it to the application. In some embodiments, the secure circuit receives the first certificate by providing information about hardware included in the computing device to a hardware verification service.

Abstract: An electronic device may include an electronic display to display images during frames based on image data. The electronic display may be divided into multiple regions each having multiple pixels. The electronic device may also include a display pipeline to process the image data and output the processed image data to the electronic display. The display pipeline may also determine a history update corresponding to an estimated burn-in aging effect of the pixels based on usage. A first portion of the history update corresponding to pixels in a first region may be determined during a first frame and a second portion of the history update corresponding to pixels in a second region may be determined during a second frame.
Abstract: An electronic device comprises an electronic display having an active area having a pixel. The electronic device also comprises processing circuitry configured to receive image data to send to the pixel and adjust the image data to generate corrected image data based at least in part on a stored correction value for the pixel. The processing circuitry also is configured to generate a test data to send to the pixel subsequent to sending corrected image data to the pixel, wherein the test data is selected based upon a comparison of at least one aspect of the corrected image data with a threshold value.

Abstract: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), radio access network (RAN) central unit (RCU) and methods for radio resource control (RRC) are generally described herein. A RAN distributed unit (RDU) at an eNB may communicate with an RCU of a cloud RAN to cooperatively perform RRC functionality for the eNB 104. The RDU 105 may receive a request for an RRC connection from a User Equipment (UE), and may request global load information from the RCU. The RDU may determine whether to establish the requested RRC connection based on the global load information when a response from the RCU is received before a predetermined time. The RDU may determine whether to establish the requested RRC connection based on local load information when the response from the RCU is not received before the predetermined time.

Abstract: While an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface is in a locked, passcode-protected state, the device displays a lock screen user interface on the display. The lock screen user interface includes a plurality of restricted application launch icons, each restricted application launch icon corresponding to an application. The device also detects user input to activate a respective restricted application launch icon; and, in response to detecting the user input to activate the respective restricted application launch icon, starts a restricted session for a respective application that corresponds to the respective restricted application launch icon, wherein the respective application is configured to generate one or more content items while in the restricted session, and maintains the device in the locked, passcode-protected state for applications in the device other than the respective application.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for supporting narrowband device-to-device wireless communication, including possible techniques for performing control and data communications between wireless devices that have performed discovery. A first device may transmit first control information to a second wireless device. The first control information may indicate a buffer status of the first wireless device. The first device may receive second control information from the second wireless device. The second control information may include an acknowledgement indication for the first control information. The first device may transmit a data communication to the second wireless device based at least in part on the first control information and the second control information.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing implicit radio resource control state transitions in a cellular communication system. A wireless device may establish a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a cellular base station. A data inactivity timer length and a target RRC state for implicit RRC transitions may be determined. A data inactivity timer having the determined data inactivity timer length may be initiated. It may be determined that the data inactivity timer has expired. The wireless device may transition to the target RRC state based at least in part on determining that the data inactivity timer has expired.

Abstract: An electronic device, in response to detecting an input on a touch-sensitive surface: processes the input with a first gesture recognizer for an operating system application; and processes the input with a second gesture recognizer for a first software application, distinct from the operating system application. If the first gesture recognizer recognizes the input as a gesture matching a gesture definition of the first gesture recognizer, the device performs an operation defined by the operating system application and transitions the second gesture recognizer into an event impossible state. If the second gesture recognizer recognizes the input as a gesture matching a gesture definition of the second gesture recognizer, the device delays performance of an operation defined by the first software application for the input until the first gesture recognizer indicates that the input does not match the gesture definition of the first gesture recognizer.
