Patents Assigned to Apple
  • Patent number: 12230224
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with a display. The display may be configured to display standard dynamic range image content and high dynamic range image content at the same time. The control circuitry may dynamically adjust an amount of headroom for the high dynamic range image content to avoid washing out the standard dynamic range image content. For example, the control circuitry may reduce the amount of headroom available for high dynamic range image content with high average pixel luminance levels and low screen coverage. The headroom may be increased as the average pixel luminance levels decrease and/or as screen coverage increases. Different high dynamic range images that are displayed at the same time may be assigned different amounts of headroom (e.g., different peak brightness levels) based on average pixel luminance values, screen coverage, whether or not the content is within an active window on the display, etc.

  • Patent number: 12231318
Abstract: A uniform protocol can facilitate secure, authenticated communication between a controller device and an accessory device that is controlled by the controller. An accessory and a controller can establish a pairing, the existence of which can be verified at a later time and used to create a secure communication session. The accessory can provide an accessory definition record that defines the accessory as a collection of services, each service having one or more characteristics. Within a secure communication session, the controller can interrogate the characteristics to determine accessory state and/or modify the characteristics to instruct the accessory to change its state.

  • Publication number: 20250054274
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to selecting a subset of keypoint descriptors of two images for match operation based on their orientation angles indicated in headers of the keypoint descriptors. The keypoint descriptors in the two images are matched by first comparing their headers and then performing vector distance determination. During the header comparison operation, a header of a descriptor of a first image is compared only with headers of keypoint descriptors of a second image in a discrete orientation angle range corresponding to an orientation angle indicated by the header of the first image descriptor or keypoint descriptors of the second image in adjacent discrete orientation angle ranges. After the headers of the keypoint descriptors satisfying one or more matching criteria are determined, distance determination operations are performed between the keypoint descriptors while the remaining keypoint descriptors are discarded without determining their distances.

  • Publication number: 20250055506
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and a network node can support sounding reference signals (SRS) based antenna beam pair selection for simultaneous uplink transmission with multi-panels by the UE. One or more antenna beam pairs of a UE having a first antenna panel and a second antenna panel may be used to transmit SRSs to a first transmission reception point (TRP) and a second TRP simultaneously using SRS resources configured by one or more SRS configuration sets from the network node. The UE can configure a SRS spatial filter for a SRS resource to indicate a direction of an antenna beam, while some of the SRS resource is configured by the one or more SRS configuration sets received from the network node. The network node can select an antenna beam pair among the one or more antenna beam pairs based on indications of signal strength of SRSs received.

  • Publication number: 20250056449
Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station including a transceiver configured to communicate over a wireless network with a user equipment (UE) and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor divides a plurality of candidate Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) positions in a time window into a plurality of groups and communicates, using the transceiver, information associated with the plurality of groups of candidate SSB positions to the UE. The processor further performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. In response to the LBT procedure being successful, the processor determines a first group of the plurality of groups and transmits, using the transceiver, one or more SSBs on one or more candidate SSB positions of the first group to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20250055936
Abstract: A mobile device can include ranging circuitry to determine distance to another mobile device. A first wireless protocol can establish an initial communication session to perform authentication and/or exchange ranging settings. A second protocol can perform ranging, and other wireless protocols can transmit content. In one example, the distance information can be used to display a relative position of another device on a user interface of a sending device. The user interface can allow a user to quickly and accurately select the recipient device for sending the data item. As another example, the distance information obtained from ranging can be used to trigger a notification (e.g., a reminder) to be output from a first mobile device or used to display a visual indicator on a receiving device. Proximity of a device (e.g., as determined by a distance) can be used to suggest recipient for a new communication.

  • Patent number: 12223943
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods for synthesizing virtual speech. In various implementations, a device includes a display, an audio sensor, a non-transitory memory and one or more processors coupled with the non-transitory memory. A computer-generated reality (CGR) representation of a fictional character is displayed in a CGR environment on the display. A speech input is received from a first person via the audio sensor. The speech input is modified based on one or more language characteristic values associated with the fictional character in order to generate CGR speech. The CGR speech is outputted in the CGR environment via the CGR representation of the fictional character.

  • Patent number: 12223928
Abstract: Privacy control can be provided for displays that output content for users within an enclosed space. Display systems can include sensors that detect an external illuminance of an external environment outside the enclosed space. Based on the external illuminance and the brightness output by the display, the display system can control one or more of a variety of operating parameters to enhance privacy for the user within the enclosed space. For example, the display can be controlled with a reduced brightness when the external illuminance is low. By further example, windows separating the enclosed space from the external environment can be provided with an ability to adjust a transmissivity thereof and thereby reduce transmission of light from the display to the external environment. By further example, the display can be operated to change or omit certain content that has a relatively high privacy threshold.

  • Patent number: 12220028
Abstract: Characteristics of a watch band can change when placed in different configurations, and each of these characteristics can be correlated with each of the various configurations. The characteristics can be measured to detect in which of the various configurations the watch band is in. For example, the watch band can include a conductive trace that changes its resistance when the watch band changes its configuration. For example, the resistance can change based on stretching of the watch band, bending of the watch band, and/or securement and release of an engagement element. The watch or another device can perform one or more operations based on the detected characteristic and configuration of the watch band.

  • Patent number: 12220213
Abstract: Methods and devices for obtaining a blood pressure measurement of a subject measure a transit time of a blood pulse of the subject. A method includes sensing, with a pulse ejection sensor of a wrist-worn device, ejection of blood from the left ventricle. Arrival of a resulting blood pressure pulse at the wrist is sensed via a pulse arrival sensor of the wrist-worn device. A transit time of the blood pressure pulse from the left ventricle to the wrist is determined. A relative blood pressure value of the subject is determined based on the transit time. A reference absolute blood pressure value associated with the relative blood pressure value is received. An absolute blood pressure value for the relative blood pressure value is determined based on the reference absolute blood pressure value and the relative blood pressure value.
