Abstract: A pair of eyeglasses may include one or more adjustable lenses that are each configured to align with a respective one of a user's eyes. The adjustable lenses may each include electrically modulated optical material such as one or more liquid crystal cells. The liquid crystal cells may include arrays of electrodes that extend along one, two, three, four, or more than four directions. Control circuitry may apply control signals to the array of electrodes in each liquid crystal cell to produce a desired phase profile. Each lens may be foveated such that portions of the lens within the user's gaze exhibit a different phase profile than portions of the lens outside of the user's gaze. The control circuitry may adjust the location of the optically distinct area so that it remains aligned with the user's gaze.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for spatial audio navigation that may, for example, be implemented by mobile multipurpose devices. A spatial audio navigation system provides navigational information in audio form to direct users to target locations. The system uses directionality of audio played through a binaural audio device to provide navigational cues to the user. A current location, target location, and map information may be input to pathfinding algorithms to determine a real world path between the user's current location and the target location. The system may then use directional audio played through a headset to guide the user on the path from the current location to the target location. The system may implement one or more of several different spatial audio navigation methods to direct a user when following a path using spatial audio-based cues.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for reducing likelihood of Random Access Channel (RACH) transmission blockages and thereby facilitate an initial access procedure for new radio (NR) unlicensed spectrum (NR-U) operation in a fifth generation (5G) wireless communication system including an NR node. In some embodiments, a parameter generated by a gNB and received by a UE indicates that, from among a set of consecutive RACH Occasions (ROs), a gap is available for performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure before commencing a RACH transmission.

Abstract: Devices and methods provide for transmitting downlink (DL) positioning reference signals (PRSs) in a wireless system. A DL PRS resource pool is configured and divided into a plurality of DL PRS resource sets. The DL PRS resource pool includes a periodically repeated amount of resources dedicated for DL PRS transmission by a plurality of gNBs in the wireless communication system. The plurality of DL PRS resource sets correspond to one or more gNB of the plurality of the gNBs. The DL PRSs are encoded for transmission on configured DL PRS resources within the plurality of DL PRS resource sets.
Abstract: An electronic device may have a touch sensitive display with optical touch sensors that are insensitive to the presence of moisture. The optical touch sensors may include light sources and light detectors. Light illuminator and detector angular filters (e.g., masks, baffles) can be employed to limit the illumination and receive angles of emitted and detected light to minimize false object detection. In some examples, light illuminator and detector masks and baffles can be formed during the photodiode component fabrication process. Interference filters may be included over the light sources and/or the light detectors to improve discrimination between a user's finger and water, and may have a greater transmission for light at a first incident angle that is greater than the critical angle of the water/cover interface than at a second incident angle that is less than the critical angle.

Abstract: Systems and methods of providing RAT co-existence and congestion control in V2V communications are generally described. A vUE detects specific non-LTE RAT transmissions in a listening period of a PSCCH or PSSCH, determines whether a metric has been met and reselects to a non-overloaded channel to communicate with other vUEs or the eNB. The manner of reselection is dependent on the RAT specific or V2X service priorities of the channels, as well as whether the channels are V2V service dependent.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for reducing unwanted noise in an electronic audio signal, wherein a computing device having a microphone is configured to receive signals from a sensor on an external device such as a camera, second microphone, or movement sensor. The signals from the sensor are used to identify sound information or characteristics of sounds made by a source of noise, and the audio signal of the microphone is modified to reduce unwanted sounds based on that sound information or based on sounds identified a second audio signal obtained by the second microphone, thereby improving teleconference and video conference audio quality and removing distracting noises from transmitted audio output.
