Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method to transfer money may include a mobile device associated with a player, a location server designed to: track a device position of the mobile device and track a vessel position, and a mobile gaming management server designed to: receive a fund transfer request from a gaming server for the mobile device, the fund transfer request including a fund amount; determine if the fund amount can be transferred to the mobile device based on the device position and the vessel position; and transfer the fund amount to the mobile device if it is determined that the fund amount can be transferred to the mobile device.
Abstract: An electronic gaming device comprising a first display device operable to present a game, an activation structure, a three-dimensional second display device positioned relative to the first display device and the activation structure, and a game controller having at least one processor and a memory storing a set of symbols and at least a sequence of instructions. When the instructions are executed, the game controller causes the at least one processor to at least levitate the three-dimensional second display device relative to the first display device and the activation structure, move the three-dimensional second display device in relation to at least one of a plurality of axes, and display game information on the three-dimensional second display.
Abstract: Innovations in integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and a random number generator (“RNG”)-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device are described. For example, some of the innovations relate to integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and an RNG-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device that uses one or more sets of matrix elements and one or more sets of user-selectable action elements. User-selectable action elements are determined using RNG events. Matrix elements for a symbol matrix are also determined using RNG events. The action elements can be selectively applied, according to user input provided by a user, to change matrix elements (e.g., to “re-spin” one or more matrix elements, or to convert one or more matrix elements from one type to another type).
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for electronically transferring value using a portable electronic device. In one embodiment, a method for transferring funds to or from play a portable electronic device to facilitate playing a game of chance on a portable electronic device.
Abstract: A system includes a casino management server and an electronic casino device that includes a beacon configured to wirelessly communicate with personal devices of players. The device transmits a request for a custom beacon ID to the casino management server, receives the custom beacon ID from the casino management server in response to the request; and configures the beacon with the custom beacon ID, thereby broadcasting the custom beacon ID to the personal device of the player. The server receives, from the personal device of the player, a pairing request that includes a received beacon ID as received by the personal device based on the broadcasting, validates that the received beacon ID matches the custom beacon ID, stores a valid association between the personal device of the player and the electronic casino device; and authorizes connected actions to be performed by the personal device based on the association.

Abstract: Innovations in integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and a random number generator (“RNG”)-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device are described. For example, an instance of a process of an electronic gaming device uses a set of reels and at least one RNG. The set of reels includes one or more skill-based reels and one or more RNG-event-based reels. For each of the skill-based reel(s), based on user input, a stop position at which to stop a reel strip for the skill-based reel is determined. For each of the RNG-event-based reel(s), a random number is generated using the RNG, and a stop position at which to stop a reel strip for the RNG-event-based reel is determined. Then, based at least in part on instances of symbols in a reel area for the stopped RNG-event-based reel(s), an outcome of the instance of the process is determined.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method for controlling mobile gaming on a vessel may have a plurality of mobile gaming devices, a location server operable to track a device position of each of the plurality of mobile gaming devices and track a vessel position of the vessel, and a mobile gaming management server configured to communicate with the location server and a gaming server, the mobile gaming management server operable to individually control whether each of the plurality of mobile gaming devices is permitted to play a game of chance based on the device position and the vessel position.
Abstract: In an electronic gaming device, instances of a target symbol are swapped in to symbol positions of one or more reel strips using one or more index tables to identify the symbol positions at which to swap in the instances of the target symbol. The index table(s) can be configured to cluster instances of the target symbol according to a deterministic approach. Subsequently, spin results are determined for one or more spins of reels using the reel strips.
Abstract: In an electronic gaming device, a boost stage uses a metamorphic graphical element. The boost stage starts when predetermined condition such as a “near-miss” condition occurs and provides an additional opportunity to satisfy a trigger condition for a supplemental feature. The metamorphic graphical element indicates how many times the predetermined condition has occurred since the supplemental feature was last triggered. When the boost stage starts, the state of the metamorphic graphical element can advance to a higher state value, visually indicating the additional opportunity to satisfy the trigger condition for the supplemental feature. For the boost stage, if the previous result (associated with the predetermined condition) is enhanced enough to satisfy the trigger condition, the supplemental feature is triggered and the metamorphic graphical element is reset. Otherwise, the boost stage finishes but the advanced state value of the metamorphic graphical element is maintained.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system to authorize a mobile electronic device to play games of chance includes a gaming system manager and a docking station, The docking station can be configured to: (i) detect whether the mobile electronic device is connected to a receiver of the docking station; (ii) receive device information from the mobile electronic device if it is detected that the mobile electronic device is connected to the receiver; (iii) determine whether a game of chance can be played on the mobile electronic device based on the received device information; (iv) authorize the mobile electronic device to play the game of chance; and (v) transmit gaming data to the mobile electronic device if it is determined that the game of chance can be played on the mobile electronic device and if the mobile electronic device is authorized.
Abstract: A multi-module overhead display assembly for use with a gaming system. The multi-module overhead display assembly has a housing module releasably connected to one or more other housing modules for display of content above a game machine. A mounting structure for the releasably connected housing module is provided to be connectable to a mount system. At least one housing module comprises a controller having a processor and memory storing instructions, which, when executed, cause the processor to individually control each of the housing modules to display the content.

Abstract: An electronic gaming machine includes a display device and a processor configured to execute instructions stored in a memory, which when executed, cause the processor to at least initiate a multiplayer game, select at least one bot of a plurality of bots from a bot selection table associated with each bot of the plurality of bots, each bot simulating a player behavior, determine an entry time for at least one bot of the plurality of bots in the simulated multiplayer game, and control the display device to simulate a selection, by the at least one bot, of at least one selectable item at the determined entry time.
Abstract: A controller of a central control system generates an operator interface that enables definition of a plurality of target combinations via a plurality of data input fields. The controller defines the target combinations to include each combination of cards that satisfies operator input into the data input fields. The controller receives signals from a plurality of EGMs indicating respective game outcomes, determines if the game outcomes satisfy one of the target combinations, and, if so, decrements a counter value. The controller awards a bonus if the counter value is equal to a threshold value, or continues to decrement the counter until the counter value reaches the threshold value.
Abstract: In one aspect, an electronic gaming system is described. The electronic gaming system includes a plurality of electronic gaming machines (EGMs), the plurality of EGMs spaced apart from a central axis by a distance and defining an interior portion therebetween. The electronic gaming system also includes a flexible display device extending from the interior portion to an overhead position above the plurality of EGMs, the flexible display device including a plurality of flexible display panels, each flexible display panel of the plurality of flexible display panels controlled by at least one EGM of the plurality of EGMs.
