Abstract: A polycarbonate resin composition comprising (A) 5 to 95 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin comprising a plurality of aromatic polycarbonate main chains, wherein the aromatic polycarbonate main chains collectively contain specific heterounits in a specific amount in the polycarbonate main chains, and (B) 5 to 95 parts by weight of a rubber-reinforced thermoplastic resin comprising a graft copolymer which is obtained by a method comprising grafting on a rubber polymer at least one vinyl compound. The resin composition of the present invention has high impact resistance and high moldability. When the resin composition further comprises a flame retardant (C) and an anti-dripping agent as optionally components, the resin composition has an extremely high dripping-preventive property, as compared to a conventional polycarbonate resin composition containing a flame retardant and an anti-dripping agent.
Abstract: In an optical recording information recording medium of a structure having protection layers on both surfaces of a recording layer, overwrite cyclability is improved without deteriorating the reliability of recorded data.To achieve this, the first protection layer is deposited by a sputtering method from a target made of a mixture comprising ZnS and SiO.sub.2 without adding an O.sub.2 gas and a H.sub.2 gas to a sputtering atmosphere, the second protection layer is deposited by a sputtering method using a target made of a mixture comprising ZnS and SiO.sub.2 by adding an O.sub.2 gas and an H.sub.2 gas to the sputtering atmosphere.Especially, an optical information recording medium having a high reliability of recorded data and capable of overwriting of 300,000 cycles or more can be obtained, particularly, by controlling the partial pressure of the added O.sub.2 gas to 10.times.10.sup.-6 -50.times.10.sup.-6 Torr and the partial pressure of the added H.sub.2 gas to 20.times.10.sup.-6 -50.times.10.sup.
Abstract: A polysulfone membrane for purifying blood having excellent compatibility with blood and the process producing the membrane are disclosed. The membrane comprises a mixed polymer phase of a graft copolymer and/or block copolymer having a molecular weight of 3.times.10.sup.5 daltons or more and comprising (A) a hydrophilic segment and (B) a hydrophobic segment (exclusive of polysulfone) in a total amount of from 0.5 to 30 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polysulfone, with the monomer unit ratio (A/B) between the segments A and B being from 0.5 to 5. The copolymer is preferably a graft copolymer where the hydrophilic segment is a polyvinylpyrrolidone segment and the hydrophobic segment is a polystyrene segment. The membrane can be prepared by applying a wet film formation process to a dope containing an appropriate solvent of the mixed polymer, such as N,N-dimethylacetamide.
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel blocked polyisocyanate obtained by blocking the terminal isocyanate groups of a non-blocked polyisocyanate with a thermally dissociative blocking agent, wherein the non-blocked polyisocyanate is obtained by reacting at least one diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic diisocyanate and an alicyclic diisocyanate with a polyhydroxy compound having an average number of hydroxyl groups as many as 4.5 to 10, and removing substantially all unreacted diisocyanate monomers. A coating composition comprising the blocked polyisocyanate of the present invention as a curing agent and a polyol as a main agent not only has excellent curability even under low temperature conditions, but is also capable of forming a coating which has excellent impact resistance.

Abstract: A methacrylic resin having excellent impact resistance which is industrially more usable in general purposes, has the excellent weatherability and surface gloss inherent in methacrylic resins, and is optionally excellent in transparency and other properties. The impact-resistant methacrylic resin is characterized by being constituted of (A) a partially hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer having a degree of hydrogenation of from 20% to 70%, excluding 70%, and (B) a methacrylic copolymer formed from from 80 to 99.9% by weight-methyl methacrylate and from 0.1 to 20% by weight at least one other vinyl monomer-copolymerizable with the methyl methacrylate, and by having a toluene-insoluble content of from 0.5 to 50% by weight and a degree of swelling in toluene of from 2 to 12.

A resin composition containing the curable resin is also disclosed.
Abstract: The present invention provides a golf club head comprising: a face section made of a low specific gravity metal not higher than 5; and a back face section made of a clad material in which the low specific gravity metal and a high specific gravity metal not lower than 7 are metallurgically bonded to each other in advance, wherein the low specific gravity metal of the face section and the low specific gravity metal of the clad material are integrally joined to each other by welding so as to form a club head. In this case, the methods of welding of TIG, plasma arc and laser beams are used in which a U-shaped and/or V-shaped groove is formed. In this golf club head, it is possible to improve the mechanical strength of the joint portion, and it is also possible to produce the golf club head in a short period of time.

Abstract: The present invention provides a flame-retardant resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin (A) and 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of one or more of organic phosphorus compounds (B) represented by the following formula (1) ##STR1## wherein X is ##STR2## R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently represent a phenyl group or a xylyl group with at least one being a phenyl group and at least one being a xylyl group, and n is a positive integer.The flame-retardant resin composition of the present invention is excellent in heat resistance, impact strength in the form of thin-walled moldings and blooming-free property on the surface of articles molded therefrom.
Abstract: An electronic delay detonator comprises an electronic timer (100) and an electric detonator (200) fired by ignition of an ignition element. The timer includes an energy charging circuit (120) for storing electrical energy supplied from a power supply, a delay circuit (30) for counting a time period by using the electrical energy stored in the energy charging circuit to thereby output a trigger signal, and a switching circuit (140) for supplying the electrical energy stored in the energy charging circuit to the ignition element in response to the trigger signal. To an impact externally applied to the electronic delay detonator, a lower limit of an impact value in an induced detonation range of the electric detonator substantially overlaps with an upper limit of an impact value in a range in which the electronic timer is operable. Thus, no explosive remains misfired even in adverse use environments.
Abstract: An Si oxide film, an oriented paraelectric oxide thin film and an oriented ferroelectric thin film are laminated on an Si single crystal substrate having a region for a source and a drain. A conductor thin film is formed in a portion not covered with an insulating film. A laminated structure formed of the Si oxide film, the oriented paraelectric oxide thin film and the oriented ferroelectric thin film is used as a gate of a transistor. The Si oxide film functions as a carrier injection inhibiting layer.

The composition is excellent in heat stability in molding and weatherability and suited for use as a molding material for electric and electronic parts and automotive parts.
Abstract: The purpose of the invention is to produce a shaped article having a uniform dull surface with less noticeable weld line and other surface detects. The injection molded synthetic resin article of the invention has a weld portion and is characterized in that the weld line on the surface of the injection molded article has a dent of no more than 2 .mu.m, the surface of the injection molded article is a dull surface with no more than 30% gloss, the general portion, the weld portion and the resin flow end portion of the surface of the injection molded article provide a uniform dull surface, said dull surface having such abrasion resistance that no visible flaws develops at a hardness of 2B and below in a pencil scratch test. Such molded article can be produced without post-molding paint application and yet it has practical utility, thus presenting a maximum economic advantage.
Abstract: A method for recovering the activity of a ruthenium catalyst which comprises a step of bringing a ruthenium catalyst decreased in activity by its use in hydrogenation of an unsaturated organic compound into contact with oxygen in a liquid phase, and a step of maintaining the catalyst at a hydrogen partial pressure lower than that at the hydrogenation and a temperature not lower than a temperature lower by 50.degree. C. than the hydrogenation temperature.
