  • Patent number: 5965765
Abstract: A process for producing an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated nitrile from propylene, isobutylene or tert-butyl alcohol in an industrial fluidized reactor with the step of feeding methanol and an oxygen-containing gas in the course of the whole contact time of the reactor and reacting unreacted ammonia with the methanol and the oxygen-containing gas, which can reduce the amount of unreacted ammonia without lowering the yield of the nitrile; and an industrial process of conducting the above production in an industrial fluidized reactor having an inner diameter of 3 m or above and filled with a molybdenum-bismuth catalyst supported on silica, which can prevent the feed opening of a dispersing nozzle for the methanol from clogging with molybdenum oxides to attain constant reduction in the amount of unreacted ammonia.

  • Patent number: 5962702
Abstract: A process for producing trioxane by contacting an aqueous formaldehyde solution comprising 67 wt. % formaldehyde, 30 wt. % water and 3 wt. % methanol with an acidic catalyst comprising a cation exchange resin containing a sulfonic acid group. The concentration of methanol, and formic acid which is generated during the reaction, are both controlled between 0.5-5.0 wt. % and the concentration of methanol in terms of wt. % is controlled so as not to exceed two times the concentration of formic acid in terms of wt. %. With this process, the amounts of by-products formed are small, and trioxane can be produced efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5942505
Abstract: Disclosed is a 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine hydrochloride hydrate having a water content of from 2.5 to 15.5% by weight represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein n means a number in the range of from 1/2 to 3. Since the 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine hydrochloride hydrate of the present invention has excellent shapeability as compared to a 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine hydrochloride anhydride, a tablet having satisfactory hardness can be obtained even with a relatively low compression pressure in a tableting process. Further, due to a reduction in the compression pressure needed for tableting, various advantages are brought about, such as improved disintegratability of the resultant tablet when the tablet is orally taken, so that good dissolution of 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine hydrochloride from the tablet can be achieved, as well as suppression of abrasion of the die and punch used in producing tablets by compression, and the like.

  • Patent number: 5916761
Abstract: A method for determining adenosine 5' diphosphate (ADP) contained in a liquid sample by means of an enzymatic reaction, comprising reacting the sample at 15 to 45.degree. C. at least in the presence of glucose, ADP-dependent hexokinase, and oxidized NAD(P), a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, and one or more salts releasing ions selected among magnesium, cobalt, and manganese ions and then determining the ADP contained in the sample together with the AMP resulting from the reaction based on the amount of the reduced NAD(P) yielded. This method has advantages in that the limit of determination is high because ADP is determined based on the amount of the reduced NAD(P) yielded, and since the reduced NAD(P) has a definite molecular extinction coefficient, the value found is highly reliable and uninfluenced by the reducing substances contained in the sample.
