  • Patent number: 12200559
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a cellular network area optimizer. The area optimizer observes cellular network conditions at multiple radio access network (RAN) nodes within a target area. Based on observed conditions, the area optimizer applies a set of parameter values at the multiple RAN nodes. The set of parameter values enhances the overall throughput, while maintaining or improving connection retainability and accessibility, of the multiple RAN nodes under the observed conditions. The area optimizer learns different sets of parameter values to apply in response to different observed conditions by making parameter value adjustments and observing the effect of the adjustments on overall throughput of the RAN nodes in the target area.

  • Patent number: 12200495
Abstract: A system includes a policy control function (PCF) that receives an indication from a mobile device in a wireless cellular network that indicates a secure connection between the mobile device and an endpoint in the wireless cellular network. The secure connection is associated with a security policy that includes a first set of parameters and operates at a first level of granularity and a routing policy that includes a second set of parameters and operates at a second level of granularity. The PCF then determines a mapping between the first set of parameters and the second set of parameters that aligns the first level of granularity with the second level of granularity. In an example, the alignment improves the utilization of network resources in the wireless cellular network. The mapping is then transmitted to the mobile device, which enables the mobile device to use the secure connection.

  • Patent number: 12199827
Abstract: Techniques for configuring a network system including base stations that support wireless backhaul are discussed herein. To provide network coverage for a new rural area with low network capacity requirements, a service provider may initially deploy a limited network configured with wired base stations that uses fiber links as backhaul. The limited network may have large coverage gap due to the time and cost associated with deploying fiber cables. In such low traffic areas, the system may reserve a portion of available frequency bands to use as wireless backhaul and configure wireless nodes to use the backhaul provided by the reserved frequency bands. The system may configure the existing wired base stations to serve as donor nodes to provide network link for the wireless nodes. The system may deploy a network of these wireless nodes to rapidly fill in coverage gaps.

  • Patent number: 12200476
Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards preventing a handover of a Wi-Fi call to a Fifth Generation (5G) standalone cellular network. In one alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device. In another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device and the mobile device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, which facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the mobile device is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. In yet another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) tunnel is set up on the mobile device, which similarly facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the ePDG tunnel is torn down.

  • Patent number: 12197983
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of gathering data from a hybrid RFID chip to determine usage of an item or article of clothing using a mobile device like a phone, laptop, or tablet. The hybrid RFID chip consists of a processor, a memory, a radio transceiver, a power harvesting antenna, and an impedance circuit that converts ambient radio frequency (RF) energy to electrical energy. The RFID chip receives a first power level from ambient RF energy and periodically broadcasts an identity. The mobile device can receive the broadcast identity, store the identity, transmit the identity and location to a remote server, and receive a notification message from the remote server. The remote serve can determine usage of the item or article of clothing by comparing current records to previous records of RFID chip identity, location, and mobile device application identity.

  • Patent number: 12200617
Abstract: Aspects herein provide a system, media, and methods for provisioning and establishing multiple network slices for use by an application. In aspects, a particular application is able to provision a URLLC slice and an eMBB slice from a network. Based on a predefined policy associated with the application, the application communicates high priority data using a URLLC slice and non-priority data using the eMBB slice. The application can utilize unique headers on high priority data and non-priority data to implement the data prioritization schema, which the network can further use as filters. As such, the application can leverage the distinct characteristics of URLLC and eMBB to optimize the application's performance and operations at a user device and/or within the network.

  • Patent number: 12200592
Abstract: The system receives a SIP call from a UE associated with the user. The SIP call includes a call setup phase and a data transfer phase, where the call setup phase precedes the data transfer phase. The call setup phase includes an exchange of multiple header fields. The system obtains the multiple header fields from the SIP call. The system determines that the call is an open-line call by identifying an optional field within the multiple header fields, where the optional field indicates that the call is the open-line call. The open-line call indicates that the user of the UE cannot engage in a conversation with a receiver of the open-line call. Upon determining that the call is the open-line call, the system notifies an operator receiving the SIP call to not engage in an audible conversation with the user.

  • Patent number: 12200574
Abstract: Methods, media, and systems are provided for dynamic session trace management for user equipment (UE). For example, a first node is identified for a first UE, the first node being associated with a default trace processor. In some embodiments, the first node is identified based on a setup communication with the first UE. A trace profile for the first UE may generated. The trace profile may indicate a primary trace processor for the first UE. Based on the default trace processor of the first node being different than the primary trace processor, the first node is instructed to utilize the primary trace processor for trace reports associated with the first UE. In some embodiments, the primary trace processor may identify a location for the first UE using the trace reports. The trace reports may be received from a plurality of nodes and maintained by the primary trace processor.

  • Patent number: 12200629
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining a self-interference channel response of a transceiver of a mobile base station having a transmitter and a receiver. The self-interference channel response spans multiple sub-bands of a predetermined mobile cellular frequency channel. A first sub-band of the multiple sub-bands is identified according to the self-interference channel response and, an estimate is determined, at the receiver, of a first coupled transmit power level of the transmitter when operating within the first sub-band. A receiver sensitivity is adjusted according to the first coupled transmit power level to obtain an adjustment adapted to increase receiver sensitivity, while restricting operation of the receiver to a substantially linear region. The adjustment allows a transmission within the first sub-band and a reception within a second sub-band of the plurality of sub-bands to occur simultaneously at the mobile base station. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12200569
Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that can leverage network equipment (e.g., broadband provider equipment, cellular provider equipment) in order to provide enhanced guidance to a target location. This enhanced guidance can supplement existing mapping or navigation equipment. Such can be advantageous for public safety answering point entities and first responder entities as well as, potentially, for service technicians or delivery. When an entity (e.g., first responder) is dispatched to a particular location, an associated residential gateway (RG) or other device can be identified, and an associated SSID determined. This SSID can be provided to the entity seeking that particular location so that SSID scans can operate similar to a transponder or homing beacon. The SSID might also be configured specially for this purpose. Additionally, the state of a device attached to the RG can be altered to further aid in locating, such as blinking porch lights or audible indicia.
