  • Publication number: 20190289343
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for adaptive bit rate mobile video objective testing. A system can receive a plurality of screen-capture frames, where each of the plurality of screen-capture frames corresponds to a respective frame of an adaptive bit rate video stream being displayed on a screen of a test device. The system can create a screen-capture video stream and determine that the screen-capture video stream corresponds to a reference video stream that is non-annotated. The system can obtain a reference video signature package, align the screen-capture video stream with the reference video stream using the reference video signature package, generate full reference video quality performance indicators, and determine delivery quality performance indicators for the screen-capture video stream. The system can join the full reference video quality performance indicators and the delivery quality performance indicators to form an objective quality of experience data structure.

  • Publication number: 20190289043
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system obtains physical and social environmental data for a communication device user, and provides content for presentation at the device. First reaction data, obtained via sensors associated with the user, indicate the user's reaction to presentation of the content; the data is analyzed to determine user affinity for the content in a context of the physical and social environments. The content is modified during the presentation; second reaction data is obtained and analyzed to determine a second user affinity for the modified content. If the affinity is enhanced, the modified content is sent to other users' equipment via a social network. Affinity responses regarding the modified content are analyzed, and a set of users is identified as an affinity group; additional content is transmitted to equipment of the affinity group. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10419793
Abstract: A satellite digital broadcast systems transmits signals from a geosynchronous satellite to a plurality of geographically dispersed receivers. Each receiver measures a receive signal level and transmits a value representing the level to a data center. The data center analyzes data received from a plurality of receivers in order to determine a size, shape, and velocity of propagation of an obstruction. The data center then predicts which receivers will experience signal disruptions based on the obstruction and the velocity of propagation of the obstruction. The data center transmits instructions to receivers that will be affected by the obstruction.

  • Patent number: 10419240
Abstract: To reduce performance losses and costs associated with serializing parallel communications when communicating with other computing devices over a local area network (“LAN”) or a wide area network (“WAN”), bus virtualization is provided to maintain parallelization for inter machine communications over a network. Control lines and data lines associated with a parallel bus communication can be received by a network adapter, and instead of serializing the communications, the network adapter can map each of the control and data lines to respective virtual local area networks (“VLAN”). Multiple VLANs can exist together on a LAN or WAN while logically segmented, allowing the respective VLANs to facilitate communications for the control and data lines over the network.

  • Patent number: 10420089
Abstract: An adaptive two-stage downlink control channel structure is utilized for control channel transmission with code block group (CBG) retransmission for 5G and other next generation wireless systems. In an aspect, the first stage of the two-stage downlink control channel structure utilizes a defined format (e.g., having a fixed length) and provides information that is employable to determine the length and/or coding scheme of the second stage. In another aspect, the second stage of the two-stage downlink control channel structure utilizes a variable length/size to indicate the CBGs that are scheduled to be retransmitted (e.g., by employing a variable length bitmap). As an example, the length/size is varied based on a length/size of a transport block, from which the CBGs have been generated.
