  • Patent number: 10412641
Abstract: Optimizing neighbor cell relationships for improving handover performance by interpreting handover failures is presented herein. A method can include receiving data representing a time series of failures of outgoing handovers corresponding to a wireless access point device, and determining, based on a determined condition corresponding to a metric, that a source cell of the wireless access point device is associated with an anomalous cell relation corresponding to the time series of the failures of the outgoing handovers in response to quantifying the time series based on the metric. In various examples, the quantifying can include quantifying the time series with respect to: a volume of the failures during a period of time, an entropy calculated on a probability distribution of the failures by determined relations between the source cell and target cells, and/or an entropy calculated on a probability distribution of determined outgoing handover outcomes.

  • Patent number: 10411788
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a repeater device having a first coupler to extract downstream channel signals from first guided electromagnetic waves bound to a transmission medium of a guided wave communication system. An amplifier amplifies the downstream channel signals to generate amplified downstream channel signals. A channel selection filter selects one or more of the amplified downstream channel signals to wirelessly transmit to the at least one client device via an antenna. A second coupler guides the amplified downstream channel signals to the transmission medium of the guided wave communication system to propagate as second guided electromagnetic waves. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10411757
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, an apparatus including a waveguide, an antenna, and a transmitter. The transmitter can facilitate transmission of first electromagnetic waves via the antenna, the first electromagnetic waves having a fundamental mode. The waveguide can facilitate propagation of the first electromagnetic waves at least in part on a surface of the waveguide. The waveguide can be positioned at a location that enables the first electromagnetic waves to induce second electromagnetic waves having fundamental and non-fundamental modes that propagate on a surface of a transmission medium. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10412653
Abstract: A network core with a software defined networking (“SDN”) controller is provided to control routing of traffic within the network and between the network and the traffic destination. The SDN controller is merged with existing 3rd Generation Partnership Project (“3GPP”) network architecture to enable service deliveries via open application programming interfaces (“APIs”) and move the network core towards an all internet protocol (“IP”), cloud based, and software driven telecom network. The SDN controller can work with, or take the place of policy and charging rules function (“PCRF”) network elements, so that policies such as quality of service and traffic management and routing can be synchronized and managed end to end.

  • Patent number: 10412645
Abstract: Traffic associated with user equipment that are served by a first radio access network is steered to a second radio access network based on a cell user occupancy criterion. Cell user occupancy data that represents a maximum number of devices served by an access point is determined based on a type of the access point (e.g., macro access point, femto access point, WiFi access point, etc.). Further, based on the cell user occupancy data, a normalized index value is generated that is relative to different cell types/capacities. The cell user occupancy data is then transmitted to one or more neighboring access points that can utilize the cell user occupancy data to facilitate traffic steering, load balancing, and/or neighbor relationship management.

  • Publication number: 20190273672
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting a request for a network service between two network nodes and identifying a network path between the two network nodes, wherein the network path is realized by equipment performing a number of network functions. A first network function of the number of network functions is associated with a first number of redundant virtualized network resources performing at least a similar network function as the first network function. Usage metrics are determined corresponding to the first number of redundant virtualized network resources and a first virtualized network resource of the first number of redundant virtualized network resources is assigned to the network path based on the usage metrics to obtain a first assigned virtualized network resource. • Publication number: 20190274029
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that receives a notification, from an identity proxy function, indicating an identity mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) is being registered. That is, a communication device sends a registration request that includes the IMSI to a first registration function. Further, the identity proxy function intercepts the registration request and sends the first notification to the device. Also, the system, sends a first registration message to the first registration function. The first registration function includes a first registry. Further, the first registration message indicates to the first registration function to add the IMSI to the first registry. The system also sends a second registration message to a second registration function. The second registration function includes a second registry. Further, the second registration message indicates to the second registration function to remove the IMSI to the first registry.

  • Publication number: 20190272320
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that performs a statistical, natural-language processing analysis on a group of text documents to determine a group of topics. The topics are determined according to parameters obtained by training on a sample of documents. One or more topics in a subset of topics are associated to each document, resulting in topic-document pairs. A bias is identified for each topic-document pair, and clusters of topics are created from the subset of topics. Each cluster of topics is determined from a value for each bias of each topic-document pair and from a frequency of occurrence of each topic. Each cluster is presentable according to a corresponding image configuration based on all or a subset of the bias dimensions and the frequency of occurrence of topics in a cluster that distinguishes the cluster from other clusters. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190273758
Abstract: Various embodiments for resolving customer communication security vulnerabilities are provided. Customer traffic data is stored in a database and analyzed to identify problem traffic. A report of a first user device and a usage history for the first user device is obtained. Similarities between the usage history of the first user device and the problem traffic are searched for to identify an issue. A first vulnerability is remedied on the first user device by a first remote action in response to the issue being identified. A second user device that is in a same account as the first user device and that has engaged in similar problematic communications as the first user device is identified. A second vulnerability is proactively remedied on the second user device by a second remote action.

  • Patent number: 10402585
Abstract: Master privacy policies for different users are stored to a cloud-based central server. When a user interacts with a third-party service (such as FACEBOOK® or AMAZON®), the third party service may require acceptance of privacy policies before services are rendered. Here the cloud-based central server may automatically configure a privacy policy of the third-party service to the user's master privacy policy. The cloud-based central server thus relives the user of managing many different privacy policies required by many different third party service providers.
