Abstract: A solar-control glass that has acceptable visible light transmission, absorbs near infrared wavelength light (NIR) and reflects midrange infrared light (low emissivity mid IR) along with a preselected color within the visible light spectrum for reflected light is provided. Also provided is a method of producing the improved, coated, solar-controlled glass. The improved glass has a solar energy (NIR) absorbing layer comprising tin oxide having a dopant such as antimony and a low emissivity control layer (low emissivity) capable of reflecting midrange infrared light and comprising tin oxide having fluorine and/or phosphorus dopant. A separate iridescence color suppressing layer as described in the prior art is generally not needed to achieve a neutral (colorless) appearance for the coated glass, however an iridescence suppressing layer or other layers may be combined with the two layer assemblage provided by the present invention.

Abstract: A stripping composition suitable for stripping external organic coatings, such as exterior waterproof coatings and thin films, contains (a): (A) at least one dibasic ester, e.g. aliphatic esters, (B) at least one dipolar aprotic solvent, e.g. dimethyl sulfoxide, (C) at least one cosolvent, e.g. anisole and (D) a combination of softening agents, e.g. a mixture of ethyl lactate, trimethylcyclohexanone, cyclohexyl acetate, diethanolamine, a dimethoxybenzene, and water.
Abstract: Butyl acrylate is prepared by reacting acrylic acid and butanol in a reactor in the presence of an esterification catalyst the water formed being entrained by distillation in a column (2) in the form of a heteroazeotropic mixture with butanol mixture following condensation, being separated in a decanter (3) to give an upper, organic phase which is recycled to the top of the distillation column (2) and a lower, aqueous phase which is drawn off. The reaction is conducted with deferred introduction of part of the butanol at the top of the distillation column (2) or to the decanter (3) or to the reactor (1), the butanol/acrylic acid molar ratio being initially between 0.5 and 1 before rising to between 1 and 1.5 following the completion of the deferred introduction of the butanol.
Abstract: Vinylidene fluoride polymers are produced by using ethane as a chain transfer agent in the emulsion polymerization process. Vinylidene fluoride homopolymers made by the process have a significantly reduced tendency to generate cavities at high temperatures and a greater resistance to discoloration at high temperatures.

Abstract: The subject of the invention is a continuous process for the manufacture of difluoromethane (F32) from methylene chloride (F30) and hydrogen fluoride in the presence of chlorine, in the gas phase, over a fluorination catalyst.
According to the invention, the gas flow exiting from the reactor is subjected to a distillation in order to separate, at the top, a flow containing virtually all the HCl and at least 90% of the F32 produced by the reaction and, at the bottom, a flow containing at least 90% of the unconverted reactants (F31, F30 and HF) and the latter flow is recycled directly to the reactor, without any purification operation.
