  • Patent number: 9887707
Abstract: The invention relates to a invention relates to a method and decoding device for receiving an input bit-stream comprising a sequence of n-bit pattern symbols as well as a unique n-bit comma symbol for synchronization, and for generating therefrom a synchronized output comprising a sequence of m-bit pattern words, with m<n. The comma symbol allows detection of bit-skip in the input bit-stream, so that the output to be synchronized to compensate for the bit-skip. The decoding device and method of decoding are particularly simple and may be applied in devices, e.g. in a beam modulator array comprising a plurality of decoding devices, and/or in a lithography system comprising such a beam modulator array, in which space and computational resources are scarce while still providing a synchronization capability.

  • Patent number: 9883906
Abstract: Regions of tissue having reduced electrical propagation are created in a bladder to affect its electrical or mechanical properties. To create these tissue regions, a tubular device is advanced through the urethra leading to the interior of the bladder, a distal expandable structure of the device is expanded to contact the inner wall of the bladder, and electrodes or other active energy delivery elements of the device are activated to deliver ablation energy. The electrodes or other active energy delivery elements are disposed over the expandable structure which is shaped to conform to the interior of the bladder. The inner wall of the organ is ablated in a predetermined pattern. The same or other electrodes disposed over the expandable structure can used to electrically map the bladder. This map of electrical activity can be used to create the predetermined pattern.

  • Patent number: 9885775
Abstract: A luminaire is provided for use in determining an orientation of a camera based on an image of the luminaire captured by the camera. The luminaire comprises a light source having an on state in which it emits light and an off state in which it does not emit light, and being of a shape having a symmetry in the off state. The luminaire also comprises a controller configured to control the light source to emit said light in the on state with a lighting effect that breaks said symmetry. A device comprising receives an image of the light source from a camera, and determines an orientation of the camera relative to the light source by performing a geometric perspective calculation based on the image of the light source. An ambiguity in the orientation is resolved by detecting the asymmetry in the light emitted by the light source.

  • Patent number: 9887538
Abstract: The invention relates to a DC power distribution system for distributing DC power from a power supply device (3) to an electrical device (2). The power supply device is operable in a high power mode or in a low power mode for supplying a higher power or a lower power, respectively, to the electrical device via an electrical conductor (4), wherein the electrical device is switchable between a high power mode and a low power mode in which the electrical device consumes more power or less power, respectively. An electrical device control unit (11) controls the mode of the electrical device depending on the power supplied by the power supply device. This automatic control of the electrical device depending on the provided power can lead to a better balance between the power consumption and the power supply and, thus, to an improved efficiency of supplying power to the electrical device.
