Abstract: A server device may identify that a user device is connected to a first radio access network (“RAN”), via a first technology. The server device may identify that the user device is capable of accessing a second RAN, via a second technology, where the second RAN is different from the first RAN, and where the second technology is different from the first technology. The server device may also receive an indication that the first RAN is congested. The server device may further determine, based on the indication that first RAN is congested, and further based on identifying that the user device is capable of accessing the second RAN via the second technology, that the user device should be handed over to the second RAN. Additionally, the server device may instruct the user device to connect to the second RAN via the second technology.

Abstract: An LED driver for powering an LED fixture is described, the LED driver including a switched mode power supply for providing a current to the LED fixture, and a control unit for controlling a switch of the switched mode power supply. The control unit includes an input terminal for receiving a set point representing a desired output characteristic of the LED fixture. The control unit is further configured to periodically determine an opening instance of the switch and a closing instance of the switch, determining an average current estimate based on at least one measurement of the current to the LED fixture at least one measurement instance determined on the basis of at least one of the opening instance or the closing instance of the switch, and applying the average current estimate as a feedback signal representing the average current for controlling the LED current.

Abstract: A conference calling system enables transfer of control of a conference bridge. The transferor terminal has an option to transfer control of the conference bridge to a transferee terminal. The transferee terminal has an option to accept or reject control of the conference bridge. When the transferee terminal accepts control prior to the transferor terminal severing control, the control of the conference bridge is transferred to the transferee terminal. However, when the transferee terminal rejects or does not accept within a predetermined time the control of the conference bridge, the transferor terminal is provided an option to transfer control of the conference bridge to alternate terminals, one terminal at a time, until an alternate terminal accepts control or the transferor terminal severs control of the conference bridge. As long as a terminal has control of the conference bridge, the conference bridge is not severed.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide the use of a two or three plate Alvarez lens located in a field plane of a projection lens of a lithographic apparatus. The Alvarez lens can be used to modify the shape of the focal plane to match a previously determined surface topography, while at the same time the Alvarez lens can be designed to include a built-in correction for astigmatism and other residual Zernike errors that would otherwise be introduced.

Abstract: A magnetic read sensor having a flat shield for improved gap thickness definition and control. The magnetic read head includes a sensor stack and hard bias layer formed at either side of the sensor stack. A SiNx hard bias capping layer is formed over the hard bias layers between the hard bias structure and the upper magnetic shield. The hard bias capping layer has an upper surface that has been planarized by chemical mechanical polishing that is co-planar with an upper surface of the sensor stack. The read sensor is constructed by a method wherein the hard bias capping layer is constructed of a material (e.g. SiNx) that is also used as a CMP stop layer and that can be planarized by chemical mechanical polishing while having some resistance to removal by chemical mechanical polishing.

Abstract: The invention provides a building drum for building an unvulcanized tyre or air spring using rubber components. The building drum comprises a central shaft and a casing that can be slid onto the shaft. The casing is detachably attached to the shaft via a coupling pin that can be moved to a coupled position for mutually coupling the shaft and the casing and into an uncoupled position in which the casing can be removed from the central shaft. The casing further comprises a locking device with a locking pin, wherein the locking pin is adapted for, in the coupled position of the coupling pin, engaging thereon for substantially blocking a movement of the coupling pin. The locking device comprises a locking member that in a condition in which the locking pin does not engage onto the coupling pin, is placed such that it prevents a connection of lines to the casing, and/or provides an indication of the casing being mounted incorrectly.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetic media for magnetic data recording that greatly reduces the time required to manufacture the magnetic media. After constructing the magnetic disk with the desired magnetic media layer, a protective overcoat is deposited on the disk. The disk is then exposed to ozone in order to speed the rate of oxidation of the protective overcoat and thereby reduce the time needed to treat the overcoat. After exposing the overcoat to an ozone a lubrication layer can be applied. This process reduces the time necessary to cure the overcoat from a time of about 24 hours to a time range of 10 seconds to 30 minutes.

Abstract: A displacement measurement system comprising at least one retro reflector and a diffraction grating. Said displacement measurement system is constructed and arranged to measure a displacement by providing a first beam of radiation to the measurement system, wherein the diffraction grating is arranged to diffract the first beam of radiation a first time to form diffracted beams. The at least one retro reflector is arranged to subsequently redirect the diffracted beams to diffract a second time on the diffraction grating. The at least one retro reflector is arranged to redirect the diffraction beams to diffract at least a third time on the diffraction grating before the diffracted beams are being recombined to form a second beam. And the displacement system is provided with a sensor configured to receive the second beam and determine the displacement from an intensity of the second beam.

Abstract: A primer coating composition for a metal substrate is described. The primer has a suitable binder and is characterised in that there is at least one semiconductor photocatalyst dispersed throughout the primer coating composition. A process of coating a metal substrate is also described. The invention extends to the use of a semiconductor photocatalyst as a top-coat to primer adhesion promoter or as a primer to top-coat delamination inhibitor in a primer coating composition.

The stage system comprises an object table configured to support the object and an object table support defining an object table support surface configured to support the object table. The object table support comprises at least one first actuator to drive the object table support in a first driving direction substantially parallel to the object table support surface. In a projection on a plane parallel to the object table support surface the at least one actuator is spaced with respect to the object table in a direction perpendicular to the first driving direction such that the risk on slip between the object table support and the object table supported thereon is decreased.

Abstract: A radiation source includes an uncapped Mo/Si multilayer mirror, and a cleaning apparatus configured to remove a deposition comprising Sn on the uncapped Mo/Si multilayer mirror. The cleaning apparatus is configured to provide a gas comprising one or more of H2, D2 and HD and one or more additional compounds selected from hydrocarbon compounds and/or silane compounds in at least part of the radiation source, to produce hydrogen and/or deuterium radicals and radicals of the one or more additional compounds, from the gas, and to supply the hydrogen and/or deuterium radicals and radicals of the one or more additional compounds to the uncapped Mo/Si multilayer mirror to remove at least part of the deposition.

Abstract: An adhesive dressing that reduces the leakage of wound exudate from the dressing, comprising an adhesive-coated backing sheet; and an absorbent island adhered to said adhesive-coated backing sheet by said adhesive, having a first end and a second end, wherein the absorption capacity of the absorbent island is higher at the first end than at the second end. The adhesive dressing of the invention provides extended wear time for the dressing when it is applied to wounds.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing an expression vector encoding a tailored recombinase, which tailored recombinase is capable of recombining asymmetric target sequences within the long terminal repeat (LTR) of proviral DNA of a plurality of retrovirus strains inserted into the genome of a host cell, as well as to the obtained expression vector, cells transfected with this, expressed recombinase and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the expression vector, cells and/or recombinase. Pharmaceutical compositions are useful, e.g., in treatment and/or prevention of retrovirus infection. In particular, asymmetric target sequences present in a plurality of HIV strains are disclosed, as well as tailored recombinases capable of combining these sequences (Tre 3.0 and 4.0) and expression vectors encoding them.

Abstract: A pickup assembly is provided comprising a bridge defining an elongated slot, a saddle at least partially disposed within the slot, and at least one transducer. The slot has a slot end surface and two side walls. The saddle has a string contact surface, a saddle end surface generally opposite the string contact surface, and two opposing side surfaces. The at least one piezoelectric transducer may be located on a side wall of the slot, and have a contact surface in contact with a side surface of the saddle. The at least one transducer may be located on the slot end surface of the slot, and the contact surface contacts the saddle end surface of the saddle. An adjustment mechanism is connected to the bridge and engageable with the transducer. The transducer is adjustable relative to the saddle such that when the adjustment mechanism engages the transducer the force between the transducer and the saddle is adjusted.

Abstract: An inspection method reflects radiation with a known polarization beam off a periodic structure, such as a grating. The reflected radiation beam is split into first and second orthogonally polarized sub-beams. The phase of the first sub-beams is shifted with respect to the second sub-beam. A first image resultant from the first sub-beam and a second image resultant from the second sub-beam are simultaneously detected. A difference in intensity values is used to derived from the detected first and second images together to determine an overlay error in the periodic structure.

Abstract: Notifications regarding content transactions may be received at a high rate in systems providing content to a large number of customers from a number of vendors. Each notification may contain multiple fields of information about the transaction. Business rules for determining amounts that should be invoiced for content transactions have fields of information for matching to nonfictions. As each notification is received: (1) a rule having fields of information that match fields of information contained within the notification is located; (2) an amount that should be invoiced for the transaction is determined from the located rule; (3) a line item in the determined amount is added to an open invoice for the vendor related to the content transaction that the notification is about; and (4) the updated open invoice may be saved. These steps may all be performed in real time, without copying or redistributing data in the original notification.

Abstract: Disclosed is a lithographic apparatus comprising a member susceptible to deformation and a deformation sensor for measuring a deformation of said member. The deformation sensor comprises a first birefringence sensing element arranged to be subjected to stress in dependency of the deformation of said member and a light system configured to transmit polarized light through the first birefringence sensing element, wherein said polarized light has a first polarization state prior to being transmitted through the first birefringence sensing element. The deformation sensor further comprises a detector for detecting a second polarization state of the polarized light after being transmitted through the first birefringence sensing element and a calculation unit to determine the deformation of said member based on the first and second polarization state.
