Abstract: A lettuce cultivar, designated Danielle, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of lettuce cultivar Danielle, to the plants of lettuce cultivar Danielle and to methods for producing a lettuce plant by crossing the cultivar Danielle with itself or another lettuce cultivar. The invention further relates to methods for producing a lettuce plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic lettuce plants and plant parts produced by those methods. This invention also relates to lettuce cultivars or breeding cultivars and plant parts derived from lettuce cultivar Danielle, to methods for producing other lettuce cultivars, lines or plant parts derived from lettuce cultivar Danielle and to the lettuce plants, varieties, and their parts derived from the use of those methods. The invention further relates to hybrid lettuce seeds, plants, and plant parts produced by crossing cultivar Danielle with another lettuce cultivar.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for determining overlay of a pattern on a substrate with a mask pattern defined in a resist layer on top of the pattern on the substrate. A first grating is provided under a second grating, each having substantially identical pitch to the other, together forming a composite grating. A first illumination beam is provided under an angle of incidence along a first horizontal direction. The intensity of a diffracted beam from the composite grating is measured. A second illumination beam is provided under the angle of incidence along a second horizontal direction. The second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction. The intensity of the diffracted beam from the composite grating is measured. The difference between the diffracted beam from the first illumination beam and the diffracted beam from the second illumination beam, linearly scaled, results in the overlay error.

Abstract: A humidifier is provided having a base including a chamber for receiving water, at least one reservoir removably mounted on the base for providing water to the base chamber, and an atomizer provided in the base for aerosolizing water from the base chamber. A duct is removably mounted on the base, the duct enclosing the atomizer and venting humidified air from the humidifier. An anti-contamination system is in communication with the duct and includes a housing, an ultraviolet (UV) light source mounted within the housing for emitting UV light to interact with at least one of the aerosolized water and humidified air, and a window at least partially transparent to UV light provided between the anti-contamination system and the duct. Embodiments may include a reflective member provided within the housing for reflecting UV light through the window.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the preparation of alkenoic acid esters comprising contacting a lactone with an alcohol and an acidic heterogeneous catalyst, characterised in that the process is carried out in the presence of at least 20 ppm of an acid having a pKa of 5 or less, relative to the amount of the lactone. The presence of at least 20 ppm of an acid having a pKa of 5 or less may stabilise the catalyst during the reaction and may also be used for reactivating an acidic heterogeneous catalyst. The improved yield advantageously allows energy conservation.

Abstract: Methods for production of highly unsaturated fatty acids by marine microorganisms, including the heterotrophic marine dinoflagellate Crypthecodinium, using low levels of chloride ion are disclosed. Specifically, methods of increasing production of highly unsaturated fatty acids by marine microorganisms while growing in low chloride media by manipulating sodium ion and potassium ion levels. The invention also relates to methods of production of highly unsaturated fatty acids by marine organisms at low pH levels, and includes methods for generation of low pH tolerant strains.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a motion platform and aircraft simulator comprising the same. According to the invention, a motion platform is provided using at least three uprights and a sub-frame connected to the uprights by connecting members. A cabin in which a person can be accommodated is connected to the sub-frame. By restricting the way the various components are capable of moving relative to each other a motion platform is obtained which is able to offer the desired simulation of motion such as translational movement, pitch, roll, and yaw of the cabin.
