  • Patent number: 8443900
Abstract: A method of unloading liquid from a reservoir includes deploying a pumping system into a wellbore to a location proximate the reservoir using a cable. The pumping system includes a motor, an isolation device, and a pump. The method further includes setting the isolation device, thereby rotationally fixing the pumping system to a tubular string disposed in the wellbore and isolating an inlet of the pump from an outlet of the pump; supplying a power signal from the surface to the motor via the cable, thereby operating the pump and lowering a liquid level in the tubular string to a level proximate the reservoir; unsetting the isolation device; and removing the pump assembly from the wellbore using the cable.

  • Patent number: 8447268
Abstract: A method and system adapted for use in a mobile telecommunication network is described. The invention describes a rating and routing system which is adapted to enable an efficient rating and routing of data transactions being transmitted through a network. Based on a comparison of identifiers associatable with a subscriber to the network, with a set of parameters defined for data transactions, the system of the present invention is adapted to enable an accurate assessment and allocation of the correct rating tariff value to a specific transaction and the routing of that rated value to an appropriate destination defined for the user.

  • Publication number: 20130125205
Abstract: A request for establishing an IP session from a mobile device to be activated and connected to a cellular network is redirected to a web portal or platform of the cellular network. When the mobile device sends an authentication request for requesting establishment of an IP session to the cellular network, the mobile device receives a restricted IP address from the cellular network if the mobile device is not currently authorized for communication via the cellular network. A reverse domain name system lookup is performed on the restricted IP address to find a host name of a web portal or platform of the cellular network corresponding to the restricted IP address. The mobile device determines whether or not redirection of an IP communication request to the web portal or platform of the cellular network is to occur based on the host name.

  • Publication number: 20130122515
Abstract: The present invention provides an immunodiagnostic method for determining procalcitonin and procalcitonin derivatives in a biological sample of a patient, in particular in the monitoring and control of treatment and the monitoring of the progression of a local or systemic bacterial infection, inflammation, sepsis or neurodegenerative disease. In particular, the method detects molecular forms of intact procalcitonin 1-116, or procalcitonin partial peptides derived therefrom that retain amino acids alanine and proline (Ala-Pro, AP) in positions 1 and 2 of the amino terminus of the complete procalcitonin 1-116. The method uses antibodies that selectively bind an epitope comprising amino acids 1 and 2 of procalcitonin 1-116 (SEQ ID NO: 1) and can distinguish between intact procalcitonin 1-116 and for example, procalcitonin 3-116.

  • Publication number: 20130122932
Abstract: In a mobile communication network that does not support simultaneous data communication during an active voice call of a mobile station, location information of the mobile station is obtained from a positioning server on the mobile communication network using mobile messaging service type messages as a transport bearer between the mobile station and the mobile communication network. A mobile messaging service message from the mobile station includes information regarding one or more nearby WiFi access points and/or cellular base stations detected by the mobile station. The location of the mobile station is determined by the positioning server, and the results are sent to the mobile station via a responsive mobile messaging service message including the determined location, during the active voice call, for use by an application program running on the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20130120725
Abstract: An imprint lithography method is disclosed for reducing a difference between an intended topography and an actual topography arising from a part of a patterned layer of fixed imprintable medium. The method involves imprinting an imprint lithography template into a layer of flowable imprintable medium to form a patterned layer in the imprintable medium, and fixing the imprintable medium to form a patterned layer of fixed imprintable medium. Local excitation is applied to the part of the patterned layer to adjust a chemical reaction in the part of the patterned layer to reduce the difference between the intended topography and the actual topography arising from the part of the fixed patterned layer of imprintable medium when this is subsequently used as a resist for patterning the substrate. An imprint medium suitable for imprint lithography with the method is also disclosed.
