Abstract: 1,4-disubstituted pyrazole derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are each hydrogen, lower alkyl or benzyl, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, may be a pyrrolidino, piperidino or morpholino radical, n is an integer from 2 to 5 and Z is a radical of the formula ##STR2## or QNR.sup.1 R.sup.2 where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 have the same meanings as above, Q is ##STR3## A is CHR.sup.3 or NR.sup.3 in which R.sup.3 is CN, NO.sub.2, SO.sub.2 -aryl or SO.sub.2 -lower alkyl and m may be 0 or 1, and their pharmaceutically tolerated salts, processes for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds of formula I, the use of such compositions and an intermediate of the formula III ##STR4## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and n have the same meanings as above, in the preparation of the compounds of the formula I.The compounds are useful to block histamine H.sub.2.sup.- receptors.

Abstract: Thermostable bismuth vanadate/molybdate pigments are prepared by precipitating onto a pigment, obtained by calcination, of the formulaBi VO.sub.4 .cndot.Bi.sub.2 Mo O.sub.6where n is 0.2-2.5, in aqueous suspension at 70.degree.-100.degree. C. within the pH range from 4 to 9.5 a first SiO.sub.2 -containing layer using an alkali metal silicate solution of a magnesium hexafluorosilicate solution, maintaining the suspension at 70.degree.-100.degree. C. for not less than 1 hour, producing a thick coating on the precoated pigment by adding further alkali metal silicate solution, magnesium hexafluorosilicate solution or a mixture of the two within the pH range from 4 to 9.5, and finally depositing wax on the SiO.sub.2 -containing layer by means of a waxing emulsion/dispersion, the products showing, compared with the starting pigment, an appreciably improved thermal stability in plastics.

Abstract: Trialkylamines are prepared by reacting primary alcohols with ammonia or a primary alkylamine in the presence of a hydrogenation/dehydrogenation catalyst and in the presence of hydrogen by(a) operating in liquid phase(b) using the alcohol in a stoichiometric excess of from 1 to 15 moles per mole of ammonia or primary alkylamine,(c) carrying out the reaction in the presence of the water formed in the course of the reaction, and(d) using a hydrogenation/dehydrogenation catalyst which substantially contains only copper as the catalytically hydrogenating/dehydrogenating metal.
Abstract: A composition of matter and method of making the composition which relates to an all aqueous, phase stable emulsion of organophosphorous pesticides which is free of organic solvents. The composition comprises from about 40 to 95 percent by weight of an organophosphorous selected from the group consisting of phosphates, phosphorothioates and phosphorothionates, and mixtures thereof, from about 3 to 10 percent by weight of an nonionic block, heteric, heteric/block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, from about 3 to 16 percent by weight urea, and about 20 to 50 percent water. The composition is made by blending these components together under moderate agitation.
Abstract: Pigments of the general formulaF.multidot.Het (I)where F is the cation of a cationic dye which has an absorption maximum at >700 nm and may or may not contain anionic groups and Het is an anion of a heteropolyacid based on tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium or a mixture of these with phosphorus, silicon, cobalt, aluminum, manganese, chromium, nickel or a mixture of these or a copper(I)-hexacyanoferrate(II) anion, are superior to the known IR dyes in terms of thermal stability and photostability, and give optical recording media having superior properties, such as a high signal/noise ratio.
