    Abstract: Decene oligomers useful with or without hydrogenation as basis for synthetic lubricating oils are prepared by oligomerizing decene-1 in the presence of an alkylaluminum chloride catalyst and an alkyl halide cocatalyst, in a first reaction stage the decene-1 being mixed with the catalyst at from 0 to +25.degree. C. and being kept in contact therewith within the same temperature range for not less than 15 minutes and in a second reaction stage the cocatalyst being added at from 0 to +35.degree. C. in the course of a period of from 15 to 180 minutes.

    Abstract: The yield of 2,5,6-trimethyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one is increased by reacting diethyl ketyone, in the presence of an alkali, with crotonaldehyde or a compound which is converted to crotonaldehyde under the reaction conditions chose, and working up the reaction mixture by distillation, by a method in which the distillation residue obtained is either(a) heated at from 120.degree. to 250.degree. C. in particular from 120.degree. to 200.degree. C., with the addition of a catalytic amount of an alkali, or(b) heated at from 150.degree. to 250.degree. C. without the addition of such a substance,and the mixture of 2,5,6-trimethylcyclohex-2-en-1-one and diethyl ketone which is formed from the distillation residue as a result of the heat treatment is separated by distillation.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for coating an electrically conductive substrate, the said substrate being immersed in an aqueous bath based on a cationic synthetic resin binder which is at least in part neutralized with acids and contains amino and/or hydroxyl groups. The said bath contains a mixture of crosslinking agents as well as pigments, fillers, corrosion inhibitors, paint auxiliary substances, and, if appropriate, catalysts, as well as organic solvents in an amount of up to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the coating, the said substrate being cathodically connected. By the action of direct current, a film is deposited on the substrate, after which the said substrate is removed from the bath and the film is cured by stoving, the mixture of crosslinking agents comprising at least two crosslinking agents of different reactivities based on activated esters and/or polyisocyanates blocked by different blocking agents.
