Abstract: Liquid epoxy resin hardeners are mixtures of 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole, ethyldimethylimidazole and/or diethylmethylimidazole isomers which can also contain other alkylimidazoles, and can be produced by distillation of the products obtained in the dehydrogenation of 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazoline.
Abstract: 4-Pentenoates are prepared by isomerization of isomeric pentenoates in the presence of a catalyst, by a process in which isomeric pentenoates are treated at elevated temperatures with an acidic ion exchanger or acidic zeolite which contains a noble metal of group eight of the periodic table, and the 4-pentenoate is distilled off from the reaction mixture.
Abstract: The subject invention relates to a process for regenerating silver-containing carrier catalysts used in the preparation of ethylene oxide which comprises treating a deactivated catalyst with a solution comprising a potassium, rubidium, or cesium compound and a reducing agent. The subject process provides improved catalyst regeneration.

Abstract: A protective container for tape cassettes (K) consists of a bottom part (I) and lid part (II), which are pivotable relative to one another, so as to effect closing and opening of the container. Means (3, 17) restrict the opening of the parts to an angle of less than 180.degree., in particular to angles of 90.degree.-140.degree. or 120.degree.-130.degree.. A specific force is required to open the container, thereby additionally ensuring that the container is not opened unintentionally and the tape cassette does not drop out. The container is useful for storing tape cassettes, film cassettes, magnetic tape cassettes, etc.
Abstract: In accordance with the instant invention, there is provided a method for solubilizing benzylidene acetone in a zinc plating bath which comprises adding to said bath, a small amount of a Bisphenol initiated polyoxyalkylene compound.
Abstract: Antistatic and/or electrically conductive thermoplastic polyurethanes contain carbon black whose surface area determined by the BET method is from 600 to 1200 m.sup.2 /g, have a dibutylphthalate absorption number of 300 to 450 cm.sup.3 /100 g, a pour density of less than 250 kg/m.sup.3, and an average particle size less than 50 nm.Incorporation of the carbon black into the thermoplastic polyurethane produced by the continuous sheet method takes place at temperatures under the primary melt peak for the crystalline rigid segments, measured by means of differential calorimetry, preferably in an extruder. The products are suitable for preparing films for flat heating elements, antistatic hoses, cables, and profiles.

Abstract: A head positioning device for a disk drive unit comprises a Y-shaped drive band for displacing the carriage bearing the head(s), each divergent arm portion of the Y forming the same angle with the central longitudinal axis of the band. In another embodiment, the two divergent arm portions are connected together by a crosspiece. Advantageously, the drive band is made of steel having a tensile strength of from 1200 to 2500 N/mm.sup.2, especially from 2000 to 2500 N/mm.sup.2. The novel positioning device can be used with advantage in any type of system for recording, reproducing and storing audio, video, data or control signals.

Abstract: When producing molded foam parts from liquid reaction components, the charge of gas in the initial components has a significant effect on the foam structure and quality of the molded part. This invention provides a process and apparatus for introducing a gas into at least one of the liquid reaction components prior to mixing said components for reaction. The component which is to be charged with gas is circulated from a feed tank through a recycle circuit to a compression zone which is maintained at a higher pressure than that of the feed tank. Said gas is admixed with said component at the point of initiation of the compression zone and the higher pressure is relieved through a throttle element prior to returning the gas-charged component to the feed tank. A finely divided stable gas dispersion which can be mixed with other components for reaction is obtained.
