Abstract: A mechanical process for filling the tubes (3) of tubular reactors with granular solids, e.g. catalysts, wherein two or more streams of material, e.g. of different catalytic activity, can be introduced in a controlled manner into each tube (3) which is to be filled, from two or more stock vessels (1,2) via two or more dispensing devices (MI, MZ) mounted above the upper tube end plate (13). By this process, different thermal/catalytic reaction profiles can be achieved over the length of the tube, or in certain groups of tubes within the tubular reactor, with substantially less time being required for filling the tubes (3).

Abstract: Process for electrostatically coating objects with a fluid, for instance liquid paint, by applying a high voltage to a spray bell and by feeding the fluid to a revolving, driven spray bell. The flow-rate of the fluid supplied to the center of the spray bell is decelerated nearly to zero when it enters the bell, then the rate of the fluid is increased by being accelerated by the bell to 15,000 to 60,000 rpm, and the fluid thereupon is centrifuged off the spray rim of the bell and is guided to the object to be coated.
Abstract: Compositions and method of using said compositions for inhibiting mineral scale and the corrosion of high lead solder and the cavitation-erosion corrosion of aluminum in aqueous systems are disclosed. Unexpectedly, a mixture of a siloxane-silicate copolymer with an azole is effective in reducing the corrosion of high lead solder and aluminum, particularly the cavitation-erosion corrosion of aluminum in contact with aqueous liquids, such as aqueous alcohol solutions used as heat transfer media. Antifreeze concentrates and a process for inhibiting corrosion are also disclosed.

Abstract: The subject invention relates to the use of certain iron oxide spinels to color plastics. The iron oxide spinels are acicular particles having an average length of less than 0.1 micron and are represented by the formulae XFe.sub.2 O.sub.4 or YFe.sub.5 O.sub.8 in which X is a metal selected from the group consisting of Zn, Sn, Cu, Ca, Cd, Co, Ba, Sr, Mg, Al, and Mn, and Y is Li. The spinels are incorporated into plastics by methods which are known to those of ordinary skill in the art. The resulting plastics can be made with a wide variety of colors and can be used to coat surfaces without hiding the underlying surface.
