Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the treatment of a cancer that is sensitive to Pi3K/Akt pathway inhibition by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I)
Abstract: Compositions are provided that improve overall plant vigor and yield by combining agriculturally effective amounts of at least one environmentally friendly biological control agent and at least one insect control agent and or fungicide. A composition of the present invention is particularly effective in the presence of plant parasitic nematode and fungal species. Along with a benefit of reducing insect pressure, the inventive composition enhances the root system of a plant and improves the establishment of the biological control agent within the rhizosphere, thereby enhancing the effectiveness thereof. Use of a composition of the present invention leads to an overall reduction in crop losses caused by either plant parasitic nematodes or fungi and this reduction is much greater than would have bean expected from application of either component alone. Methods for utilizing compositions of the present invention are also provided.

Abstract: This invention relates to novel substituted 5-(1-benzothiophen-2-yl)pyrrolo[2,1-fJ[1,2,4]triazin-4-amine derivatives having protein tyrosine kinase inhibitory activities, to processes for the preparation of such compounds, to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, and to the use of such compounds or compositions for treating proliferative disorders, in particular cancer and tumor diseases.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a very low-dosed dosage form for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). More particularly, the present invention concerns a solid oral dosage form comprising about 0.5 mg estradiol and about 0.25 mg drospirenone, and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. Despite the very low E2 and DRSP doses it has surprisingly been found that a high proportion of the women suffering from moderate to severe hot flushes actually respond to this treatment. Accordingly, the dosage form of the invention may be used as maintenance HRT or may be used already when HRT is initiated.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an innate DNA sequence within the complete genome sequence of Actinoplanes sp. SE50/110 which resembles the structure of an actinomycete integrative and conjugative element (AICE). Related AICEs were used for establishing genetic manipulation tools for other bacteria in the past. In this document, we describe the unique features of the specific AICE found in Actinoplanes sp. SE50/110 which are clearly distinct from any other known AICE as a whole, but share minor parts with varying sequence similarity with other characterized AICEs from other species.
