Abstract: A composition is disclosed which is useful in preventing dental plaque and tartar from forming on the teeth. The composition includes compounds which are esters or their mono or double salts derived from lysine in combination with straight chain or branched, saturated or unsaturated, monovalent aliphatic alcohols having 4 to 20 carbon atoms.

Abstract: Aryl substituted furnaces and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof according to the following formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and are selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl and acylamino having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be the same or different and are selected from hydrogen and methyl, R.sub.5 is selected from hydrogen, dimethoxyphenyl and acylamino having the following formulaR.sub.6 --CONH--wherein R.sub.6 is selected from alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are disclosed which are useful as anti-hypertensive and .beta.-adrenolytic agents. Also, substituted furnaces having the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sub.7 is selected from hydrogen, benzyl, the radical ##STR3## and the radical ##STR4## wherein X is selected from chlorine and bromine, are disclosed which are useful in the preparation of the aryl substituted furnaces. Compositions containing the aryl substituted furnaces, and methods of preparation are also disclosed.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical tablet composition for oral administration is disclosed which provides for accelerated release <> of a finely divided active ingredient contained therein which is only slightly soluble < in the gastrointestinal tract of a warm-blooded animal >. The tablet composition is characterized as containing a micro-dispersed, amorphous, porous silica having a primary particle size of between about 1 and 15 .mu.m, a BET surface of between about 350 and 450 m.sup.2/ g, and a pore volume of between about 1.4 and 1.7 ml/g. A method of producing the tablet composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: Novel condensed nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof according to the following formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and are selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl and alkoxy having one to four carbons, X is selected from oxygen, sulfur, methylene, imino and acylimino having two to five carbons in the acyl group, n and m are positive integers of 1, 2, or 3, and p is a positive integer of 2 or 3, are disclosed which are useful as anti hypertensive agents. Compositions containing said compounds and methods of preparation are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel peruvoside derivatives having the formula ##STR1## and the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are selected from a hydrogen atom, an acyl group, an alkoxymethyl group and a carboalkoxy group wherein the alkyl portion of said groups has 1-4 carbon atoms and R.sup.3 is an acyl group having 2-5 carbon atoms. Methods of preparation and suitable compositions are also disclosed. Said compounds and compositions are useful for the treatment of cardiac insufficiencies.

Abstract: Phenoxyalkylaminepyridyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is methyl, methoxy, or chlorine; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl, alkoxy containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, nitro, amino, halogen, cyano, or a residue of the formula ##STR2## N IS 2 OR 3, AND THEIR PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACCEPTABLE ACID ADDITION SALTS. These compounds are useful for lowering blood pressure.

Abstract: A self-adhesive composition comprising a crosslinked copolymer of 0.01 to 5% by weight based on said composition of a compound taken from the class consisting of acrylic and methacrylic-[(2-alkoxy-2-phenyl-2-benzoyl) ethyl] esters and at least one monomer capable of producing a self-adhesive polymer. A method of preparation of the composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: Self-adhesive webs or sheets are disclosed which are easily marked by ordinary printing means. They are prepared by coating a flexible substrate with a reactive mixture of a polyurethane, an aliphatic trifunctional isocyanate having terminal isocyanate groups, glycerin, microfine siliceous matting agents, and an organic tin ester catalyst. A process for their manufacture is also disclosed.

Abstract: Insect repellants having improved effectiveness, increased mucosa tolerance and compatibility with plastic objects containing, as an active ingredient, at least one 3-aminopropionic acid derivative which is disubstituted at the nitrogen atom, having the general structure ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having one to six carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, R.sub.3 is a branched or unbranched alkyl or alkoxy group having one to eight carbon atoms, and X is --C.tbd.N or --COOR.sub.4, R.sub.4 being a branched or unbranched alkyl group having one to six carbon atoms.

Abstract: An adhesive tape is disclosed which is useful for binding electrical conductors. The tape is liquid-permeable so that the conductors can be impregnated with liquids such as varnishes and resins. It comprises a liquid-permeable support material, one side of which is coated with an adhesive. The adhesive covers less than 50% of the coated side.

Abstract: The present invention relates to 4' amino-4' desoxy-oleandrins of the following formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and represent hydrogen or a lower alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together with the nitrogen atom form a pyrrolidino, piperidino, or morpholino radical; as well as the physiologically compatible acid addition salts thereof.These compounds possess positive inotropic cardiac activity and are useful in cases of renal insufficiency.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 represents a chlorine atom or a methoxy or cyano group;R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl or hydroxy group;m is 2, 3 or 4; andn is 1 or 2)And their physiologically acceptable acid addition salts have blood pressure reducing properties and may be used in the treatment of patients.

Abstract: A novel cured pressure-sensitive adhesive-coated sheet material comprising a flexible backing having bonded thereto a pressure-sensitive adhesive material containing copolymers of 2-ethyl hexyl acrylate, butyl acrylate and glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate. The monomer-mixture for the pressure-sensitive adhesive material may also contain minor amounts of monomers with acid anhydride groups or monomers with carboxyl groups. The curing of the pressure-sensitive adhesive material is accomplished by heating the copolymers to a temperature between 60.degree. and 100.degree. C., in the presence of a zinc chloride catalyst whereby the copolymers become cross-linked to obtain a solvent-, heat- and weather-resistant pressure-sensitive adhesive-coated sheet material.

Abstract: The composition comprises an aqueous mixture of an acrylic acid ester copolymer and/or a polyvinyl ether; polyvinyl methyl ether; an alkali metal and/or ammonium salt of polyacrylic acid, of polymethacrylic acid or of copolymer of acrylic and methacrylic acids; a monomeric plasticizer; and an emulsifier. The composition is useful as a pressure sensitive adhesive for labels. A label coated with the composition is readily removed from the surface upon which it is affixed by treatment with water.

Abstract: An adhesive resin comprising the polymer of dimethyl-di-(cyclohexen-3)-yl-methane as well as a copolymer of this compound with at least one mono-or di- ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon, said hydrocarbon having 4 to 12 carbon atoms. A method of making these resins and a method of causing adhesion using such resins are also disclosed, as well as compositions including this resin.

Abstract: A polymer composition is disclosed which can be sprayed or otherwise thinly coated on an open wound to serve as a protective bandage. The composition comprises:A. 10 to 30% by weight of isobutene relative to total monomer weight;B. 5 to 85% by weight of total monomer of one or more esters of acrylic or methacrylic acid and one or more normal or branched, monovalent, primary or secondary aliphatic alcohols having 1-4 carbon atoms; andC. 5 to 85% by weight of total monomer of one or more maleic acid monoalkyl esters having 1-12 carbon atoms in the monoalkyl portion of the molecule.

Abstract: A web of polymeric foam which is sealed on one or both sides by a thin, hard plastic layer is disclosed. The sealed web is prepared by coating an auxiliary substrate with a film of hard plastic-forming resin, laminating this film to a polymeric foam web by means of a curable adhesive applied to the hard plastic, and removing the auxiliary substrate.
