  • Publication number: 20090157215
Abstract: A method for producing three-dimensionally structured surfaces of objects, the object surface being created as a reproduction of a three-dimensionally structured original surface with the aid of a machining tool. Accordingly, the topology of the original surface is first determined, a measured depth value being assigned to each surface or grid element, creating a depth map of the original surface. The depth values are evaluated in terms of their influence on the reflective properties of the surface elements and the reflective properties are stored in the form of parameters. The depth values are then modified in accordance with the reflective values and are used as topological data for the electronic control of a machining tool.

  • Publication number: 20090157210
Abstract: A method allows analyzing and describing the reflective properties of a three-dimensionally structured original surface. The topology of the original surface is determined and the topological data are stored in the form of a depth map in a first data record and evaluated with respect to the influence of the data on the reflective properties. Each surface element is assigned a reflective value in accordance with the evaluation and the value is stored in a second data record and made available to other machining or inspection systems. There, the reflection values of the second data record are divided into classes and the depth values of the first data record, assigned to the classified reflection values, are varied in accordance with the classification. Finally, the changed depth values are employed as parameters for electronically controlling a tool in order to machine the artificially produced surface.

  • Publication number: 20080193684
Abstract: A method for producing plastic moldings with a distinct grain/three-dimensional surface structure by grain-imparting negative thermoforming. The plastic molding is subjected to a preheating, and the molding is then pressed into/onto a negative mold that is formed with the negative of the three-dimensional surface structure to be applied. Those portions of the plastic molding that face away from the grain side are subjected to electron beam crosslinking before or during the preheating and the grain-imparting negative thermoforming.

  • Publication number: 20080136065
Abstract: In a method for producing three-dimensionally structured surfaces of objects as a reproduction of an original surface, the topology of the original surface is determined, and the data are used for controlling a machining tool. The determined topology and a random topology of a reproduction surface are brought closer to one another via a series of proximity comparisons until all items of height information of the reproduction surface are successively replaced by items of height information from the original surface, and that once an established similarity between the topologies of the reproduction surface and the original surface is obtained, the items of height information of the reproduction surface are provided for controlling the machine tool serving to machine the surface of the object.

  • Patent number: 6962640
Abstract: Method for producing an embossing roller from silicone rubber for the continuous embossing of the surface of a thermoplastic film, with the embossing surface having a negative form of a surface structure to be embossed. An auxiliary roller is provided which is plastic, at least in the region of its circumferential surface. A laser beam is directed onto the circumferential surface and controlled for defining a real imaginary pattern in such a way that a surface structure of the pattern is created as a positive form on the surface. A layer of silicone rubber provided on the surface produces an embossing matrix which is pulled off the surface, turned inside out, and adhered to a surface of an embossing roller, with the negatively structured embossing surface facing outward. Thus, multiple embossing matrices can be created after a one-time structuring of the surface of an auxiliary roller, using a casting process.
