  • Publication number: 20160158160
Abstract: The present invention is a bioactive, nanofibrous material construct which is manufactured using a unique electrospinning perfusion methodology. One embodiment provides a nanofibrous biocomposite material formed as a discrete textile fabric from a prepared liquid admixture of (i) a non-biodegradable durable synthetic polymer; (ii) a biologically active agent; and (iii) a liquid organic carrier. These biologically-active agents are chemical compounds which retain their recognized biological activity both before and after becoming non-permanently bound to the formed textile material; and will become subsequently released in-situ as discrete freely mobile agents front the fabric upon uptake of water from the ambient environment.

  • Publication number: 20160162465
Abstract: A new information in a language and relating to a subject matter domain is parsed into a constituent set of complete grammatical constructs. In a subset of the complete grammatical constructs, a set of linguistic styles of the language is identified according to a subset of a set of word-style associations related to the language and independent of the subject matter domain. A first weight is assigned to a first linguistic style and a second weight to a second linguistic style from the set of linguistic styles. A first intention information is mapped to the first style using a first style-intention rule, and a second intention information to the second style using a second style-intention rule. A complete grammatical construct in the subset is tagged with the first intention information responsive to a weight associated with the first intention information exceeding an intention selection threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160164526
Abstract: A field programmable threshold-logic array (FPTLA) includes a number of threshold logic gates and a number of programmable interconnect elements. Each one of the programmable interconnect elements are connected between two or more of the threshold logic gates, such that the programmable interconnect elements route signals between the threshold logic gates. By using threshold logic gates for the FPTLA, the size of the FPTLA may be significantly smaller than conventional solutions. Further, using threshold logic gates results in significant improvements in the computation speed of the FPTLA when compared to conventional solutions.

  • Publication number: 20160163840
Abstract: A vertical-mode tunnel field-effect transistor (TFET) is provided with an oxide region that may be laterally positioned relative to a source region. The oxide region operates to reduce a tunneling effect in a tunnel region underlying a drain region, during an OFF-state of the TFET. The reduction in tunneling effect results in a reduction or elimination of a flow of OFF-state leakage current between the source region and the drain region. The TFET may have components made from group III-V compound materials.

  • Patent number: 9361943
Abstract: A system and process for attaching tags to panoramic video. Tags provide information when viewing panoramic images, serve as references to specific actions and serve as reference for outside systems into a panoramic image database. Objects in a video can be tagged. It defines tags through 4-D time-space curves, which specify the 3-D location of a tagged object over time. It provides a user-friendly mechanism for defining said curves in panoramic video, which rely on curve fitting techniques to minimize the number of images to be labeled. It provides a mechanism for annotating tags with further information. When displaying tagged panoramic video, tags are graphically superimposed on the panoramic video feed using projective projection techniques. From this visualization, a user can then select a given tag and invoke an associated action. Additionally a mechanism whereby tags and associated user-provided information are used as index into panoramic image databases is provided.
