Abstract: A drive system for a covering device, which can be rolled up or folded, for motor vehicles is equipped with a control device. The control device has a current sensor for detecting the current applied to an electric motor of the drive system in the course of moving the covering device. The control system measures a current parameter at the start of the movement of the covering device and switches off the current to the motor as soon as switch-off criteria derived from the current values measured at the start of the movement have been reached.

Abstract: An automobile rear window shade 9 having a windup roller (15) rotatably seated in a housing (13) in the automobile. The windup roller (15) is pre-stressed in the wind-up direction of the window shade web (17) by a spring (16). Two pivot levers (19, 21), which are pivotably seated on the housing (13), are provided for unrolling the window shade web (17). Abstract: A protective device for the interior of a motor vehicle has a protective structure which has a planar shape in a protective position and which is seated for movement by a drive mechanism between at least two positions. The protective structure is connected with at least one guide element that can be entrained by at least one coupling member with transfer structure to the drive mechanism. The at least one coupling member is provided with at least one picking-up element that acts in transverse direction to the direction of movement of the coupling member and that entrains, releases or picks up the guide element with limited entraining force during movement of the coupling member. The protective device is usable for cargo area coverings, cargo area dividers and sun-protection roller blinds.

Abstract: A motor vehicle is equipped with a protective sun shade 13, whose essential mechanical elements are housed in a roof interior space 6, above the headliner 5. The protective sun shade 13 is free of guide rails. Abstract: A cargo area divider for a vehicle is provided which can be automatically transferred into an operative position or a non-operative position by a motor drive. Monitors for locking mechanisms of the operative position serve to dynamically block a roller blind shaft for the divider. Also, it is provided to monitor a loading level of the cargo area and to trigger an automatic transfer of a divider net or a partition wall into the operating position in response to the loading level exceeding a predetermined amount.
Abstract: A side window blind is integrated in the bodywork of a motor vehicle. The blind can be retracted into the hollow space between the inner lining and the outer skin of the vehicle. The blind passes out through a slot in the window embrasure. In order to close this slot when the side window blind is not in use, a flexible cover strip is connected with the reinforcing strip on the front edge of the blind material, which in the driven-out state comes to lie against the contour of the reinforcing strip. In the driven-in or drawn in state, the cover strip is lifted off sectionwise from the reinforcing strip and lies, closely to the slot, on at least one of the slot edges.
Abstract: A cargo area divider for a motor vehicle has a flexible planar structure that is equipped in a front end region with a pull-out profile that has retaining elements for detachably securing the pull-out profile on vehicle-mounted retainers in a roof region of the motor vehicle. When the planar structure is in the pulled-out functional state, the retaining elements project upward beyond an upper edge of the pull-out profile; and the corresponding vehicle-mounted retainers are positioned, in order to receive the retaining elements, in a horizontal headliner region at a distance from lateral roof frame elements of the roof region of the motor vehicle.
Abstract: A hat holding piece piece (19) is composed of three sections, a middle section (31) and two corner pieces (32, 33) which are laterally hinged on the middle section (31). The corner pieces (32, 33) can be swung with the aid of the hinge so that in the region of the corner pieces (32, 33) the width of the hat holding piece (19) can be reduced by the swinging downward of these corner pieces (32, 33). In this manner the different clear width of the automobile body is taken into account, which as a rule is greater below the side windows than at a place located nearer to the roof.

Abstract: A rolling cover has two end caps movable toward one another. The movability of the end caps toward one another and/or away from one another serves to make it possible to easily lock the rolling cover in corresponding vehicle-side receiving pockets or to remove the rolling cover therefrom. An actuating mechanism is present to which the two end caps are additionally joined. This actuating member permits the end caps to be moved in an ergonomically favorable manner by a single hand.
