  • Publication number: 20140044280
Abstract: Systems and methods that reduce or remove idle tones and noise from an audio signal are provided. According to various embodiments, a level of the received input signal is detected and a control signal can be generated based on the detected level. When the detected level is above a pre-determined threshold value, then the input signal (which may have been processed) is output. When the input falls below the pre-determined threshold, then a constant signal is output instead, where the constant signal may be one of a ground signal, or other constant voltage signal.

  • Publication number: 20140045443
Abstract: Because of associated disadvantages of narrow-band off-chip radio-frequency (RF) filtering, a mixer-first receiver front-end designed to tolerate blockers with minimal gain compression and noise factor degradation is disclosed. The mixer-first receiver front-end includes two separate down-conversion paths that help to minimize added noise and voltage gain prior to baseband filtering, which are critical factors in eliminating narrow-band off-chip RF filtering.

  • Patent number: 8650633
Abstract: An integrated circuit is disclosed that can be included in a host electronic device that can be commonly manufactured, where the integrated circuit can be designated (“locked”) for a specific manufacturer, thereby substantially reducing the likelihood that a third party will be able to successfully clone a host electronic device manufactured by the specific manufacturer and/or swap the chip containing the integrated circuit for one having more enabled features. The integrated circuit includes an ID module that can be programmed after fabrication. Components within the integrated circuit designate manufacturer-specific configurations (e.g., address mapping, pin routing and/or vital function releasing) based on the programmed manufacturer ID. As a result, once the integrated circuit has been programmed with the manufacturer ID, the integrated circuit will function correctly only within a host device manufactured by the manufacturer associated with the programmed manufacturer ID.

  • Patent number: 8649752
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for reducing the complexity of multi-frequency hypothesis testing using an iterative approach may include estimating a frequency offset of a received signal via a plurality of iterative frequency offset hypotheses tests. The iterative frequency offset hypotheses may be adjusted for each iteration. A correlation may be done between a primary synchronization signal (PSS), and one or more frequency offset versions of a received signal to control the adjustment of the iterative frequency offset hypotheses. A frequency of the received local oscillator signal may be adjusted based on the estimated frequency offset. One or more frequency offset version of the received signal may be generated via one or more multiplication, and the multiplication may be achieved via a multiplication signal corresponding to one or more frequency offsets. The frequency offset of the received signal may be estimated via the correlation.

  • Patent number: 8649393
Abstract: An MTP/PTP extension may enable MTP/PTP devices to determine which protocol and/or which protocol version to utilize for impending communication. For example protocol and/or protocol version may be requested with a MTP/PTP SetDeviceClass operation that may comprise DeviceClass and/or RequestedVersion parameters. A response to the request may specify a protocol and/or protocol version for impending communication. Moreover, a response may comprise a DeviceInfo dataset comprising one or more fields indicating the protocol and/or protocol version. In various embodiments of the invention, a protocol and/or protocol version may be determined based on a GetDeviceInfo operation. Determination of which protocol and/or which protocol version to utilize for communication between MTP/PTP enabled devices may occur during initiation of communication.

  • Publication number: 20140036922
Abstract: A network node in a vehicular network processes packets based on a prioritization scheme. The prioritization scheme uses packet type, priority, source, destination, or other information to determine a priority of the packets. Packets can be stored in one of multiple queues organized according to packet type, or other criteria. In some cases, only one queue is used. The packets are time stamped when put into a queue, and a time to live is calculated based on the timestamp. The time to live, as well as other factors such as packet type, packet priority, packet source, and packet destination can be used to adjust a packet's priority within the queue. Packets are transmitted from the queues in priority order. In some cases, the network node can identify a top-priority packet, and transmit the top priority packet without first storing the packet in the queue.
