  • Patent number: 9379996
Abstract: A method and system virtualizes bandwidth. The system may include multiple communication interfaces to communicate across a hybrid network containing multiple networks of different types, technologies, protocols, topologies, or other network characteristics. The system may aggregate the bandwidth of the multiple communication interfaces into an aggregated virtualized bandwidth. When a bandwidth request is received, the system may determine a bandwidth allocation across the aggregated virtualized bandwidth. The system may also determine a communication resource allocation for the bandwidth allocation, which may assign any number of the communication interfaces. The system may then communicate application data across the allocated bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9379859
Abstract: Downclocking and/or adaptive sub-carriers for single user, multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. Communication device operation within a wireless local area network (WLAN/WiFi) is effectuated in the frequency spectra typically associated with television broadcast channels. Operation is made on a secondary non-interfering basis to such television broadcast channels. Any desired channel bandwidth (e.g., 6 MHz, 7 MHz, 8 MHz, etc.) may be employed. Adaptation with respect to the number of data sub-carriers within different respective packets may be made in accordance with two or more respective operational modes. For example, modification of the number of data sub-carriers in different respective packets may be made to increase the signal bandwidth from a first band was to a second bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9379764
Abstract: A transceiver or RF front end employing a transformer with a low loss transmit/receive (T/R) switch circuit in the ground path. In various embodiments, differential outputs of a power amplifier are coupled to the first winding of the transformer, while the input of a low noise amplifier is coupled to the second side of the transformer via a matching inductor. The T/R switch circuit, which may be a thin oxide CMOS transistor, is coupled between the second side of the transformer and ground. In operation, the T/R switch circuit may be enabled during transmit mode operations of the power amplifier, such that a low impedance path to ground is provided at the input of the low noise amplifier, thereby protecting it from high voltage swings generated by the power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 9372581
Abstract: Adaptive reconfiguration of a capacitive touch controller is implemented by estimating the interference spectrum of the signal received by the touch controller. The spectrum of the received signal is used to determine a desired frequency, and the touch panel transmitter is configured to use that desired frequency. The spectrum of the received signal is also used to determine an desired filter transfer function. A filter in the touch panel received signal path is configured to use that desired filter transfer function. The adaptive reconfiguration is focused on improving the signal to noise ratio of the received signal without the need for shielding the touch panel, performing additional scans of the touch panel, or using components that operate at higher power levels.
