The method includes receiving a composite signal at the BTS antenna. The composite signal comprises a desired MS signal and an interfering MS signal. Thereafter, a known desired random sequence and a known interfering random sequence is applied to pilot symbols of the composite signal, resulting in a first de-randomized signal and a second de-randomized signal. Finally, the channel estimate is obtained by weighting and summing the first de-randomized signal and second de-randomized signal.

Two of the windings are tied to each other via high frequency pass DC-blocking capacitors, or another suitable element that creates an AC path while providing a DC block, such that the voltage forms on either ends of the DC-blocking capacitors and the signal is sent on the outer legs of each winding. A circuit measures the current draw (I) and injects a current proportional to, but smaller than, I into a third bias cancellation winding.

Abstract: Methods and systems for auto detecting and auto switching antennas in a multi-antenna FM transmit/receive system are disclosed and may include detecting when an external antenna may be coupled to an external port of the wireless device and utilizing the external antenna for transmitting and/or receiving FM signals. One or more test signals, which may include AC signals, may be generated within the chip for detecting whether an external antenna may be coupled to an external port. A reflected signal from an external port may be measured and compared to a prestored value corresponding to a reflection due to an open circuit at the one or more external ports of the wireless device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamically tuning and calibrating an antenna using antenna hopping are disclosed. In this regard, in a wireless device comprising an antenna that is configurable into a plurality of configurations, determining a subset of the configurations, where each configuration of the subset enables received signal strength above a threshold for a wireless channel, may be determined. During the time interval, a plurality of samples of the wireless channel may be generated, where each of the samples corresponds to a different one of the configurations of the subset. The plurality of samples may be aggregated. The aggregated samples may be processed to recover information communicated on the wireless channel.
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for inverse telecine and field pairing may comprise receiving a plurality of fields of alternating polarity. The method may determine whether to utilize a progressive scheme or an interlaced scheme to encode the received plurality of fields of alternating polarity based at least in part on the calculated polarity change count value. At least one of a top field first (TFF) scheme, a bottom field first (BFF) scheme, a top field first-repeat first field (TFF-RFF) scheme and a bottom field first-repeat first field (BFF-RFF) scheme may be chosen to pair the plurality of fields of alternating polarity.

The reduced search range may be generated by sorting a plurality of signals based on a channel gain corresponding to each of the plurality of signals. The single signal for the single user may be selected from the reduced search range corresponding to a channel gain that is greater than a channel gain corresponding to a remaining portion of the reduced search range.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for detecting a start symbol of a second zone of a frame. One or more symbol indices corresponding to one or more symbols of the second zone of a frame are derived. One or more codes on pilot sub-carriers corresponding to the one or more symbol indices may also be derived. Based on the one or more symbol indices a set of possible start symbol indices is established. Thereafter, a frame is received comprising one or more of a preamble symbol, a first zone and the second zone. It is determined if the received frame comprises the second zone. If the second zone is present in the received frame, the start symbol index of the second zone of the received frame is determined based on the detection of one or more codes and the set of possible start symbol indices. The present invention further provides methods and systems for detecting a Nth symbol of a frame.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a redundant network and communication protocol at least including host computers, RF base stations, and roaming terminals. The network may utilize a polling communication protocol such that under heavy traffic conditions, a roaming terminal wishing to initiate communication may be required to wait for at least a predetermined period and determine whether the channel is available for communication.
