    Abstract: A near field communications (NFC) device is disclosed that load modulates and regulates a radio frequency (RF) signal. The NFC device includes a rectifier that rectifies the RF signal to provide a direct current voltage. The NFC device also includes a modulator that modulates a data signal. The modulator provides a first voltage when the data signal is at a first level and provides a second voltage when the data signal is at a second level. The NFC device utilizes a regulator to regulate and to load modulate the RF signal. The regulator adjusts an impedance based upon a comparison of the DC voltage provided by the regulator to the first voltage provided by the modulator for the data signal at the first level or to the second voltage provided by the modulator for the data signal at the second level.

The system further includes power control circuitry configured to generate an output signal using the modified signal. The power control circuitry is configured to adjust a power level of the output signal using the variable gain applied to the input satellite signal such that the output signal is proportional to the input signal.

Another method includes receiving a reference time from a timing reference device, applying a timestamp to frame timing data for the first device, receiving frame timing data from the second device time-stamped based on the reference time, and comparing the timing data to determine a time offset between the devices.

    Abstract: In radio communication networks, such as the Long Term Evolution (LTE) or the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), a user equipment (UE) may communicate with another UE via a base station. UEs may also communicate directly with each other by applying resources dedicated by the network for a device-to-device (D2D) direct communication. One part of device-to-device (D2D) communication is discovery to find other interesting peers (in general a peer can mean an application, user, service, device, etc.) in proximity. The discovery can be implemented either using the direct radio signals between the devices or it may utilise network side in the process. The same discovery process may be utilised in relation to small cells. A system information block SIB comprising information on small cell discovery and D2D is generated. Any change in the SIB is indicated in a paging message.

    Abstract: A social network (SNET) is divided into one or more circles employing separate security secrets, e.g. keys, for communication between members. A device can be a member of more than one circle, and store different keys for each of those circles in separate, restricted portions of memory. When a member leaves a circle, new keys can be generated and distributed to the remaining members. Before and after joining a circle, a level of trust associated with the device or human member can be determined based on third party trust verification and a trust history. A requirement for multiple current circle members to vouch for the prospective member can be imposed as a condition of membership. Each circle can be assigned different trust and access levels, and authorization to receive information can be checked before transmitting information between circles.

The system further includes a continuous mode SerDes that is coupled to the burst mode SerDes. The continuous mode SerDes is configured to receive the recovered clock and recovered burst mode data from the burst mode SerDes and convert the burst mode data into continuous mode data by buffering and padding the burst mode data based on the recovered clock. The continuous mode Serdes is configured to transmit the continuous mode data to the OLT.
