  • Patent number: 11953607
Abstract: Systems, device configurations, and processes are provided for navigation and determination of navigation observables based on low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite signals. A method for navigation includes using differential carrier phase measurement of LEO signals including correction of position estimates using integer ambiguity resolution and double difference carrier phase determinations. Frameworks described herein can use a computationally efficient integer ambiguity resolution to reduce the size of the integer least squares (ILS) determination. The framework may include a joint probability density function (pdf) of the megaconstellation LEO satellites' azimuth and elevation angle to characterize a LEO system. Embodiments are also directed to correction of ambiguities of carrier phase differential (CD)-low Earth orbit (LEO) (CD-LEO) measurements that may utilize a base and a rover without requiring prior knowledge of rover position.

  • Publication number: 20240110068
Abstract: A thin oil film having parylene irregular dendritic-like columns extending from one side to another exhibits hydrophobic properties that can be used as a corrosion resistant coating or water-repellant, biofouling resistant surface. This parylene-in-oil layer can be paired with an adjacent layer of solid parylene that it overlays or underlays. The solid parylene cross polymerizes with the parylene dendrites, keeping them in place as well as the oil film. The parylene dendrites are fabricated by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of parylene over the oil layer, the dendrites self-forming from the bottom to the top. Continued CVD over the dendrites can produce a top layer of solid parylene. Etching the solid parylene away can result in a water repellant, anti-biofouling surface.

  • Publication number: 20240108253
Abstract: A minimally invasive glucose-responsive colloidal crystal microneedle (GCC-MN) patch is disclosed for naked-eye glucose monitoring. The (GCC-MN) patch is designed with a resin or polymeric core to mechanically support a shell of glucose-responsive colloidal crystal material for glucose sensing and reporting of glucose concentrations or concentration changes. The GCC-MN patch could translate the glucose concentrations into naked-eye distinguishable color changes within about 5 min, and such glucose responsiveness is reversible. Demonstrated in a type 1 diabetic mouse model, the interstitial fluid extraction, glucose sensing, and resulting glucose-relevant color display procedures are simultaneously achieved with this GCC-MN patch.
