Abstract: First, a gate metal layer, a gate insulating film, a semiconductor layer, an n-type semiconductor layer, and an ohmic metal layer formed on a substrate in the order mentioned. Then, the film and the layers are patterned into those having the same shape and size. Next, a source metal layer and a drain metal layer are formed on the ohmic metal layer. Further, a portion of the ohmic metal layer, a portion of said source metal layer, and a portion of said drain metal layer are etched, thereby forming a channel portion. Finally, a transparent electrode is formed on the source metal layer, thus manufacturing a TFT. Since the film and the layer, the major components of the TFT, are sequentially formed, and are patterned simultaneously, the TFT can be manufacture with high yield. Further, since the transparent electrode is formed on the uppermost layer, i.e., the source metal layer, the pixel has a great opening ratio.

Abstract: A musical sound waveform generator includes a carrier signal generating unit, a modulation signal generating unit, a mixing controlling unit and a waveform outputting unit. The characteristics of the carrier signal from the carrier signal generating unit are determined such that the musical sound waveform generated by the waveform outputting unit is a sine wave or a cosine wave with a single frequency, where the mixing ratio of the modulation signal is made 0 by the mixing controlling unit. Therefore, the mixing controlling unit presets the mixing ratio of the modulation signal to be 0, making it possible to generate a musical sound waveform which is only a sine wave or a cosine wave of a single frequency. During the performance, the mixing ratio can, for example, be determined at a high value immediately after the start of sound generation and thereafter reduced to near 0 with time.

The IC module is folded at a part where the some respective portions of the wiring leads bridge the opening.
Abstract: In enlarging dot matrix data stored in an original memory on a work memory, it is discriminated whether or not a data write position overlaps the position of already-produced data. If no overlapping occurs, the data is written as it is in the work memory. If overlapping occurs, it is then discriminated whether or not the color of a dot in the original memory to be processed is the same as that of a dot adjacent to the target dot. If the colors are the same, data is written at positions except the overlapped portion. In other words, data already written at the overlapped position is given a priority. On the other hand, if the dots are of different colors, data at the overlapped portion is temporarily cleared and data is written at positions including the overlapped portion.

Abstract: Filter coefficients corresponding to a plurality of discrete cutoff frequencies are stored in advance in a memory and a filter coefficient corresponding to a specified cutoff frequency is generated by performing an interpolation referring to the filter coefficients stored in the memory, thereby saving the capacity of the memory. When a resonance index is to be specified in addition to the cutoff frequency, filter coefficients corresponding to two difference resonance indexes are acquired by the interpolation, then a new filter coefficient is acquired by executing the interpolation referring to these two filter coefficients.
Abstract: A striker designed to strike or be swung for playing music is provided with a musical sound-initiating command signal-generating device including switching members. When the striker strikes or swings, the switching members perform a switching action which triggers the transmitting of a musical sound-initiating command signal from the musical sound-initiating command signal-generating device. A desired musical sound is produced by a musical sound producing unit in response to the musical sound-initiating command signal. A number of different timbres can be selectively used for a musical tone, by operating a timbre-selecting switch provided on the striker.

Abstract: Recorded data is read by an image sensor from a recording medium on which the data is two-dimensionally recorded in a mesh pattern, and the read data is stored in an image RAM. The stored data is subjected to data decoding and error correction to reproduce target data. A scanning reference pattern of a mesh pattern recorded on the recording medium serves as a guide when the stored recorded data read by the image sensor is reproduced by scanning in the image RAM. A reproduction apparatus has a capability of coping with a partial destruction of the scanning reference pattern. Error checking codes are added to the recording medium in addition to the target data. These items of data are recorded as an encoded image after being subjected to scrambling processing and randomization processing. The reproduction apparatus can easily cope with an error when the encoded image is reproduced.
