Abstract: A character size is set according to the number of characters of a character string to be printed, and the number of printing operation times of a printer section and each operational condition of a rotation angle of a rotatable plate, which supports a recoding medium, which correspond to one printing operation, are set. According to the set operational condition, a part of the character string arranged in an arc shape is printed by one printing operation of the printer section in a state that the rotational plate is stopped, and the rotational plate is driven to rotate the recording medium by the set angle before a next printing operation is started. The printing operation and the rotating operation are repeated, thereby printing a series of character string on the circumference around a circular hole of the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20040012702
Abstract: Camera apparatus and a method of taking a picture are provided, dissolving inconvenience which a user of the camera will meet when taking a picture of him or her. The camera has a provisional photographing mode and a real photographing mode. In the provisional photographing mode, a human model image is displayed on a through image G2 in an overlapping manner on a monitor, and the user moves the human model image to his or her desired position in the through image and records in a memory composition indicating image G4 representing the conditions of the through image with the human model image staying at the user's desired position. After the provisional photographing process, the through image G2 is synthesized with the composition indicating image G4 in a semi transparent manner, and the synthesized image G5 is displayed on the monitor in place of the through image. When a shutter is operated, a normal photographing process is performed to record a photographed image.

  • Publication number: 20040012693
Abstract: Digital camera is connected to personal computer via communication cable. When a user operates a key to delete any one of images recorded on memory card of the digital camera, digital camera requests personal computer to delete an image which links to the deleted image and is stored in personal computer. When receiving this command, personal computer deletes the image linked to the image deleted from digital camera. These processes ensure consistency between an original image stored in the digital camera and a copy image stored in the personal computer.

  • Patent number: 6678017
Abstract: An active matrix display panel includes a plurality of pixel electrodes formed in a matrix manner, a plurality of switching elements connected with these pixel electrodes, a plurality of scan lines for supplying a scan signal to thin film transistors, and a plurality of data lines for supplying a display data signal. Components except for the pixel electrodes are covered with an overcoat film. Since a contact hole extending through this overcoat film and a contact hole extending through the overcoat film and a gate insulating film are simultaneously formed, a jumper line for connecting a disconnected portion of a protect ring, a surface layer of a data line connecting pad, and a line protecting film are formed at the same time as the pixel electrodes are formed. This reduces the number of fabrication steps. Components such as the data line and source and drain electrodes are formed by a three-layered structure of Cr(Chromium)/Al(Aluminum)/Cr(Chromium).

  • Patent number: 6678341
Abstract: Like a conventional one-way pager system, a two-way pager system is provided in which a message is received by paging from a base station and a message responding to the received message is returned to the base station. In this system, direct communication and peer-to-peer communication between terminals are performed. All the terminals included in the service area of the base station are always synchronized with sync signals paged from the base station. No special infrastructure is therefore required for synchronizing the terminals with the sync signals to perform the peer-to-peer communication. Furthermore, since each of the terminals receives a paging signal during the peer-to-peer communication, it can respond to a paging call.

  • Publication number: 20030234887
Abstract: A subject against a dark background can be photographed with proper exposure without steadying an imaging apparatus. An exposure time Tb which is effective for reducing hand or body shake, a time lag Tg of a time duration between a time a gain of a gain control amplifier is set and a time when the gain control amplifier initiates operation under such set gain, and a maximum light radiation period Tf of a strobe flash are read out (S101). When a shutter key is half-depressed, a slow synchronizing exposure time Ta is calculated (S103), and a gain value Y (dB) is calculated (S104), which is to be changed during the exposure. When the shutter key is depressed to the full stroke, exposure initiates (S106) and the strobe flash radiates the light at Tf (S107). When a time Tf has passed since the initiation of the exposure (S109, YES), the gain of the gain control amplifier is changed to the gain value Y (dB) (S110). When the time Tb has passed since the initiation of the exposure, the exposure ceases (S112).

  • Publication number: 20030235329
Abstract: An image input device 1 includes a rotating roller 4 supported so as to be freely rotatable around a rotational axis thereof, wherein the roller 4 includes a line image sensor 3 and a Selfoc lens array 6 which are mounted not to rotate in the rotating roller 4 by a holder 51. The holder 51 functions as a light guide to introduce the light emitted from light emitting elements 52 to a finger 200 which is pressed against the peripheral surface of the rotating roller 4. Selfoc lens array 6 forms a one-dimensional optical image of the portion of the finger 200 which is in contact with the peripheral surface of the rotating roller 4, on the line image sensor 3, so that the line image sensor 3 obtains the one-dimensional optical image. Then, the one-dimensional optical images are combined by a composite buffer 15 in order, to create a two-dimensional optical image of the finger 200.
