Abstract: A CPU 36 of a light emitting unit 30 fetches ith bit of transmission information TX stored in a transmission data memory 33 in synchronization with a clock signal CK from a timing generator 35. The CUP 36 determines the bit value and fetches a first pattern sequence SA from a pattern data memory 44 when the bit is logic signal 1, and fetches a second pattern sequence SB from a pattern data memory 34 when the bit is logic signal 0, and outputs the first pattern sequence SA and second pattern sequence SB to a light emitting section 37. While, a CPU 39 of a light receiving unit 40 extracts a pixel area with a time sequence luminance variation pattern from a frame image captured into a capture image buffer 46, and binarizes the luminance variation pattern, and performs logic determination. A liquid crystal display 44 displays information of a light emitting area to be overlapped with a subject image.
Abstract: A field sequential liquid crystal display apparatus includes columnar spacers disposed between a pair of substrates to determine a thickness of a liquid crystal layer between the substrates, and spacer support portions formed on portions opposite to the columnar spacers. A driving device supplies a voltage corresponding to image data of one color corresponding to one of a plurality of colors between pixel electrodes and common electrode of the liquid crystal display device, thereby controlling a light transmission through the respective pixel regions, and allowing a light source to generate the light of the color of the image data and to emit the lights to the pixel regions.
Abstract: It is determined whether or not a receiver responds to a call from a caller. If it is detected that the receiver has responded, a communication channel is maintained, and thereafter two characters respectively representing the caller and receiver are communicated between the caller and receiver. Two characters are synthesized and displayed. The caller and receiver communicate of intentions with each other while letting the self character take a specified action.
Abstract: A flash device is provided which causes a plurality of light emitting elements to emit desired white strobe light independent of possible uneven brightnesses of light being emitted by light emitting used. Red, green and blue light emitting elements are driven to emit corresponding colored rays of light to thereby provide white strobe light. Percentages of respective total light emission times of the light emitting elements are determined depending on the percentage data of light being emitted by those light emitting elements and stored in memory.
Abstract: A method and device for automatically informing an end user of a message resulting from regular analysis of data on a database. A storage 3 stores result transmission requirements 4 which is prepared for determining whether the message resulting from regular analysis of the data by a database system 1 should be transmitted to an end user 2 or not. A result fetch section 5 fetches analysis results from the database system 1. A mail host 6 transmits an e-mail addressed to the end user 2 when a fetched analysis result satisfies the result transmission requirements 4 in order to inform the end user 2 of the requirement satisfaction. The transmitted e-mail is stored in a mail server 7 via a network 8. The end user 2 obtains the e-mails addressed to him/her from the mail server 7 by operating a mail client 9. The end user 2 notices that the analysis result which satisfies the result transmission requirements 4 has been issued by the database system 1.

Abstract: A handwritten data input device comprises a coordinate detection tablet for detecting handwritten data input by handwriting with an input pen, and a program recording medium therefore, and is characterized in that, merely as a particular symbol such as a check mark is input by handwriting to an input region of the tablet, the handwritten data can be converted into a category code corresponding to the particular symbol, for each and every input region on the tablet. The category codes which indicates the meanings of the respective marks are stored in the RAM while the particular marks are associated with the respective handwriting marking boxes on a marking sheet. When a mark is handwritten in a marking sheet on the tablet, the CPU searches the contents of the RAM on the basis of the written mark, and converts it into a corresponding category code.
Abstract: A laser beam scan type barcode reader which reads a pair of spaced marks which adjusts or specify corrects start and stop positions of the laser beam irradiation. The distance between the pair of marks corresponds to a length of a barcode to be read. The reader detects the start and stop positions of the laser beam irradiation determined by the pair of marks, and sets the detected start and stop positions of the laser beam irradiation. When the reader reads the barcode, it controls the turning on/off of the laser beam in one scan period based on the set start and stop positions of the laser beam irradiation, and determines the actual scan span in which the laser beam is turned on in the one scan period based on the start and stop positions determined by the pair of marks, which ensures preventing structural, functional and characteristic deviations of the reader from the standards from influencing the scan span of the laser beam.

The optical surface is constituted by a large number of continuous optical elements, each optical element having a curved surface which refracts part of light introduced from the incidence surface toward the end surface at a low angle along a plane parallel to the emission surface, and an inclined surface which refracts part of light refracted by the curved surface toward the emission surface.
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a central control section, an image analysis section, a RAM (Random Access Memory), an external memory section and a user operation input section. The central control section is connected to the image analysis section, the RAM and the external memory section via a bus. Based on image data prepared by an image input section, the image analysis section performs a process of specifying where on the display screen of a display section a portion specified by the image input section lies.

An image reading assembly reads an object image by receiving light that is emitted by the front light source and passes through the object.
Abstract: A dial for timepiece is provided which includes a decoration member having a through hole, and a luminescent member disposed under the decoration member. A first surface processed layer is provided on an upper surface of the decoration member, and a second surface processed layer having a light-transmissive property is provided on an upper surface of the luminescent member. When the luminescent member is turned on, light emitted from the luminescent member is transmitted through the second surface processed layer and passes through the through hole of the decoration member. Because the transmitted light illuminates the upper surface side of the decoration member partially in accordance with the through hole, the dial is visible even in a dark place. In addition, decoration effects can be achieved by both the first surface processed layer and the second surface processed layer in accordance with the through hole.

Abstract: Bayer data is captured by a CCD and is store in a memory. Image data is read out from the memory in units of nine lines starting with (4n +1)-th (n: integer) line. YUV data of one pixel is formed based on 5×5 pixels in the read Bayer data. Thus, the YUV data is formed in units of five lines. The YUV data is enlarged by a pixel number converting unit.

Therefore, even if there is a defect in a semiconductor film, pin holes are not formed in a gate insulating film. It follows that the breakdown voltage of the gate insulating film is not lowered even if a scanning signal line, etc., including a gate electrode, are formed of only an Al-based metal film that does not have an anodic oxide film formed on the surface.
