Abstract: An image displaying apparatus stores plural image data and displays one of the image data, which image data represent a growing plant (animal) or represent a series of motions of an animal. The apparatus further stores plural element data for growing the plant (animal). When one of the element data is selected, another image data of the plant (animal) is displayed in place of the previously displayed imaged data to show how the plant (animal) grew up thank to the selected element data. The apparatus is provided with a sensor for detecting motion of a user. Detecting the motion of the user, the apparatus displays new image data representing a motion of the animal in place of the previously displayed image data to show how the animal reacts to the user's motion.

Abstract: A walking direction detection apparatus has an azimuth detection unit and acceleration detection unit. After a vertical direction with respect to the ground of an apparatus is corrected based on the detection direction of a gravitational acceleration component, a periodic up/down pattern of the absolute value of acceleration is detected. A value where the acceleration component in the horizontal direction becomes maximal or minimal is detected at a predetermined timing at which the acceleration component in the vertical direction transits from a maximal value to minimal value. The direction of the apparatus is corrected based on the direction of the acceleration component in the horizontal direction of that value. Based on these correction results, the walking direction of the movable body is detected.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a channel protection film is formed a little smaller in area than the gate electrode formed of a shielding metal film. A semiconductor thin film is formed such that the thickness is set not less than 200 Å and less than 400 Å. A distance A between the edge of the gate electrode in the channel length direction and the edge of the channel protection film is set around 0.2-1.2 &mgr;m, and a distance B between the edge of the gate electrode in the channel width direction and the edge of the channel protection film is set around 1-2 &mgr;m. With this constitution, the leak current of the thin film transistor due to the light irradiation can be reduced.

Abstract: In a shift register having stages each formed from three to six NMOS transistors, a transistor, which outputs an output signal when an ON voltage is applied to the gate, outputs an output signal from the source. Simultaneously, the gate voltage is increased by the parasitic capacitance between the gate and source. For this reason, the voltage of the output signal rises, and the output signal output from each stage does not attenuate.
Abstract: A function module unit having a memory function is removably attached on one of wrist bands, while a function module unit having a sensor function is removably attached to the other wrist band. On both wrist bands, bus line wires are embedded along the longitudinal direction. Each of the bus line wires comprises a Vcc line, a serial data line, a clock data line, and a ground line. Each of these lines is provided with a connector member which is exposed on the back surface of the wrist band at a position corresponding to the function module unit.
Abstract: A moving image data fetch section extracts frame images as well as audio information from moving image data and stores them in a frame memory. A feature amount detection section detects the change of a feature amount included in the frame images constituting the moving image data, and an image selection section selects specific frame images based on the detected image changing characteristics or audio changing characteristics. An image processing section selects a frame image having particularly great change of the image or audio data from among the selected frame images as a to-be-processed image and processes the selected image to have a predetermined expression form. A monitor, a printer or the like outputs the specific frame images selected by the image selection section and the frame image selected and processed by the image processing section as still images.
Abstract: Each of stages RS(1), RS(2), . . . of a shift register is constituted by six TFTs. A ratio of a channel width and a channel length (W/L) of each of these TFTs 1 to 6 is set in accordance with a transistor characteristic of each TFT in such a manner that the shift register normally operates for a long time even at a high temperature.

Abstract: A dicing tape is adhered to the lower surface of a silicon wafer that has pillar-shaped electrodes. The silicon wafer is cut along dicing streets, thereby making trenches among the chip-forming regions of the wafer. Next, a seal film is formed. The seal film is cut, substantially along the centerlines of the trenches. A support tape is adhered to the upper surface of the seal film. The dicing tape is peeled off. Then, those parts of the seal film that project from the lower surface of the silicon wafer are polished and removed. The support tape is peeled off. IC chips are thereby obtained. In each IC chip, the seal film covers and protects the upper surface and sides of the semiconductor substrate.
