Abstract: A striker designed to strike or be swung for playing music is provided with a musical sound-initiating command signal-generating device including switching members. When the striker strikes or swings, the switching members perform a switching action which triggers the transmitting of a musical sound-initiating command signal from the musical sound-initiating command signal-generating device. A desired musical sound is produced by a musical sound producing unit in response to the musical sound-initiating command signal. A number of different timbres can be selectively used for a musical tone, by operating a timbre-selecting switch provided on the striker.
Abstract: The invention relates to an integrated circuit memory device 1 in which connecting terminals 11b for transmitting signals between itself and an external device are provided on a bottom surface of a coin-shaped case 10 containing an integrated circuit memory chip 12. A changeover switch 20 for changing the memory chip 12 to a data-writing mode is provided at an outer peripheral side portion of the coin-shaped case 10. The switch 20 has an operation knob 24 located in a notch 13A formed in a ring-shaped core member 13 of the case 10, and a contact plate 22 formed integrally with the knob 24. The switch 20 selectively switches the memory chip 12 in a data-writing mode and in a data-writing protect mode. In the data-writing protect mode, the write (WR) signal supplied to a write terminal of a circuit substrate 11 is prevented from being input to a write electrode of the memory chip 12.
Abstract: The respective partial pressures of an inert gas in the tissues of a human body different in saturation half-time are calculated from the sensed ambient pressure during diving. The respective remaining times of the tissues up to the non-decompression limit are calculated from the obtained partial pressures of the inert gas and are displayed simultaneously on a graphic display.
Abstract: An automatic performance apparatus which easily changes the tempo and direction of automatic performance of a musical instrument, for example, to a rhythm of a rap music such that a disc jockey operates a scratch disc. Clock frequency SQCK of sequence counter 202 is changed in accordance with the speed and quantity of rotation of disc 102 and ball 1101 rotated with user's fingers, so that the timing of reading event data and event time data out of sequencer memory 206 is controlled and the tempo of the automatic performance is changed. When the user changes the rotational direction of disc 102, counter 202 performs a decrementing operation in accordance with a rotational direction signal output from rotational direction detector 110, thereby giving a reverse automatic performance.
Abstract: A CPU measures the interval between the zero-crossing points at the two ends of a waveform element a having, e.g., a positive polarity. Thereafter, the CPU sequentially measures the interval between the zero-crossing points at the two ends of each of waveform elements b, c, and d having the same polarity. Upon detection of the waveform element d which is almost equal in interval to the waveform element a and is located nearest thereto in terms of time, the interval between the start points (zero-crossing points) of the waveform elements a and d is extracted as the pitch period of the input waveform. Subsequently, the above-described series of operations is repeated.
Abstract: An image display circuit supplies gray scale data according to a video signal to a liquid crystal panel to present a gray-scaled display, and scans the liquid crystal panel N times during one field period of a video signal. The image display circuit includes a table ROM comparing a current video signal with a previous video signal of one frame before, and generates gray scale data for N times in accordance with the comparison result. Gray scale data greater than the gray scale of the current video signal is generated when the comparison result indicates that the gray scale of the current video signal is greater than that of the previous video signal, and gray scale data smaller than the gray scale of the current video signal is generated when the gray scale of the current video signal is found to be smaller than that of the previous video signal. Based on the generated gray scale data, the liquid crystal panel is driven with the proper gray scales.

Abstract: There is a digital recorder which is capable of editing audio data read out from an audio-data storing device such as a hard disk and a magneto-optical disk, with high accuracy of a sampling frequency. When audio data stored on an audio-data storing disk is divided into a plurality of separate event data for reproduction, the event data are defined by sampling-data units, which units are used for defining digital audio data. When the audio data is transferred to a temporarily storing buffer, unnecessary portions of the event data near the leading portion and the ending portion of the event data are transferred as dummy data for fine adjustment.
Abstract: In an apparatus capable of generating a tone by a plurality of different tone generation processing modes, the respective tone generation processing modes are arbitrarily assigned in units of tone generation channels so as to efficiently utilize the tone generation channels. In particular, as one of the tone generation processing modes, a waveform readout processing such as a PCM method is used. As another processing mode, a tone generation processing mode for converting an output obtained by mixing a modulation signal in a carrier signal at an arbitrary ratio in accordance with a predetermined functional relationship to generate a tone signal is used. In this mode, when the mixing ratio is set to be a predetermined value, the tone signal has a sine or cosine wave. Various tones such as a tone including a single sine or cosine wave component, a tone including harmonic components of high orders, and the like can be widely synthesized, and can be desirably assigned to the tone generation channels.
Abstract: Biological signals detected by biological signal detecting units put on a plurality of persons to be monitored are transmitted to a plurality of wristwatches. The transmitted biological signals and ID code data corresponding to the biological signals are transmitted in the form of radio signals. A receiver unit receives the biological signals and the ID code data transmitted from the wristwatches and sends them to a monitor unit. The monitor unit displays the transmitted biological signals in a one-to-one correspondence with the ID code data, Upon detecting an abnormality in a given biological signal, the monitor unit generates an alarm sound. If a corresponding person to be monitored determines that the alarm sound is erroneously generated, he or she stops the alarm sound by manipulating a switch. If the person determines that the alarm sound is not a false alarm, his or her wristwatch transmits a contact designation signal and ID code data by a radio signal.
Abstract: In a portable telephone apparatus equipped with an electronic notebook function, a telephone operation key such as a dialing key is mounted on an upper surface of an openable/closable member mounted on an upper surface of a case body, whereas electronic notebook operation keys such as a character input key are provided at a region of a surface of the case body covered by the openable/closable member, and also at a rear surface of the openable/closable member. The portable telephone apparatus further includes a switch for detecting an opening/closing state of the openable/closable member, and a mode selecting unit for selecting a telephone mode and an electronic notebook mode in response to a detection signal derived from the detecting signal. Furthermore, a search key for searching storage data about the electronic notebook is employed on this upper surface of the openable/closable member.
Abstract: An insulating substrate has thin film transistors, and scanning and data wires for supplying signals to the transistors. Each of the wires has a two-layered structure comprising a lower metal film and an upper metal film. Oxide films serving as etching stopper films and having a width smaller than each of the lower and upper metal films are interposed between the lower and upper metal films over the entire length thereof.
