Patents Assigned to Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 7747276
Abstract: When the user of the mobile communication terminal produces the originating operation while in the idle state with the wireless system C, the control section acquires the input of the user of the mobile communication terminal via the key input section (step 302) and acquires, through the present position acquisition section, area identification data of an area L where it is placed in the idle state (step 304). The control section makes a reference to the table of connection scores held in the storage section and acquires a connection score p for the system A corresponding to the area L (step 306). Next, the control section judges the start of origination to the system A by using the connection score p (step 308).

  • Patent number: 7738198
Abstract: A controller controls a drive waveform generator to apply a predetermined voltage to a piezoelectric element and deform the piezoelectric element, thereby moving a lens. The controller acquires the position of the lens based on a magnetic field intensity detected by a Hall device. A shock detection circuit measures a voltage generated by deformation of the piezoelectric element caused by an external shock. The controller determines whether or not the voltage measured by the shock detection circuit is larger than a predetermined threshold, and detects positional misalignment of the lens. When detecting the positional misalignment, the controller resets the lens at a position acquired before the shock was applied.

  • Patent number: 7733373
Abstract: In a cellular phone terminal, a bit error rate measurement section measures a bit error rate of broadcast data received by a broadcast reception section for receiving a digital broadcast to output broadcast data while a transmission operation of a communication transmission section for wirelessly communicating with a broadcasting communication network is performed. When the measured bit error rate is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold, stopping of the transmission operation of the communication transmission section is instructed. Thus, a failure such as interruption of television broadcasting reproduction can preliminarily be prevented by avoiding error occurrence in reception of the 1 segment broadcasting service due to an influence of a transmission electric wave in data communication. As a result, stable reception of the 1 segment broadcasting service can be executed.

  • Patent number: 7734318
Abstract: In the event that a cellular telephone is placed in a charging stand in an incoming wait status or if a predetermined time that the device has been left unattended elapses, a slide show display is executed which sequentially switches and displays a plurality of images in the main display portion but only when in the arrangement position of namely, view style, in a folded position with the main display portion facing outward. Additionally, when executing a slide show display, the slide direction is switched as the image size adjusts corresponding to the direction (portrait display position, landscape display position) of the main display portion.

  • Publication number: 20100124408
Abstract: An image converter includes an image converting unit and a determining unit. The image converting unit acquires frame image groups each including one or more frame images from original image data, and outputs the frame image(s) of each acquired group, converting its/their image quality based on determination by the determining unit, generating foreign-device-use image data including the frame image groups including the frame image(s). The determining unit determines necessity of first-image-quality retention of the frame image(s) of each group based on whether it/they satisfies/satisfy a condition. The image converting unit outputs the frame image(s) of the group at the first image quality if it/they is/are determined by the determining unit as necessary to retain at the first image quality, or a second image quality if determined as unnecessary to retain at the first image quality.

  • Patent number: 7697832
Abstract: A camera has an infinity end stopper that stops a lens holder to a position which sets a best focal length at infinity, and a macro-side stopper that stops the lens holder to a position at which the best focal length becomes a predetermined length. In normal mode, the camera abuts the lens holder on the infinity end stopper and then moves the lens holder toward the macro-side stopper to perform auto focus. In macro mode, the camera abuts the lens holder on the macro-side stopper and then moves the lens holder toward the infinity end stopper to perform auto focus. This can suppress a variation in the position of the camera after lens movement.

  • Patent number: 7697722
Abstract: In a portable terminal, a character string clipping section clips an image of a character string from image data photographed by a screen image pickup device. A character recognition section recognizes the clipped image of the character string and acquires a character code string corresponding to the clipped character string. A character string tracking section sets the acquired character code string as a tracking object character string when the tracking object character string extends beyond the photographable area as well as tracking the tracking object character string or a marker character string ultimately used as an input character string while repeatedly updating the marker character string. A display section highlights the tracking object character string when the tracking object character string extends beyond the photographable area of the image pickup device and displays an arrow showing the relative direction.

  • Patent number: 7693509
Abstract: When an incoming voice call is detected, a mobile phone 100 judges whether an application that coordinates multicast service and unicast communication is running. If the application is not running, the user is notified of incoming voice calls. On the other hand, if in an application running state, priority mode setting information 1041 is referenced and data cell priority mode is judged. If judged to be in data call priority mode, data communication is continued without notifying the user of the reception of incoming voice calls. On the other hand, if judged to be in voice call priority mode, the user is notified of incoming voice calls.

  • Publication number: 20100056208
Abstract: In a mobile phone device 1 including a three-axial direction vibration sensor 16 for detecting the walking of a user carrying the mobile phone device 1 and counting the number of walking steps, when an incoming call is received, vibrations due to a notification operation by a vibrator 14 or a speaker 15 are transmitted to the three-axial direction vibration sensor 16. As a result, the three-axial direction vibration sensor 16 inevitably detects unintended vibrations in addition to vibrations from walking, causing the number of walking steps to be miscounted. To prevent this and perform the accurate detection of walking, in the present invention, the detection of walking is performed without using, among vibrations in three directions detected by the three-axial direction vibration sensor 16, vibrations in the same direction as the direction of vibrations caused by a notification operation by the vibrator 14 or the speaker 15.

  • Patent number: 7631215
Abstract: A personal digital assistant comprises a loss detector to detect a lost state and a value information retainer for retaining a value assessment index, which are numerical values indicating data values. When a lost state is detected by the loss detector, a data recovery sequence is determined based on the data values and data is transmitted to another terminal. In determining the recovery sequence, electrical energy required for data transmission is calculated using a power consumption table and the remaining battery power level measured by a remaining battery power level meter is referenced.
