  • Patent number: 7144736
Abstract: A method and an apparatus which continuously separate and measure mercury in an exhaust gas in accordance with each chemical conformation and display a measurement result in real time. According to the method and the apparatus, water-soluble mercury in a gas is absorbed into an absorption solution (7), the gas and the absorption solution (7) are then separated from each other, the water-soluble mercury in the absorption solution (7) is reduced to be converted into gaseous metal mercury and led to an analyzer (20), and metal mercury in the gas which is not absorbed into the absorption solution (7) is led to an analyzer (22) in the form of gas. As a result, the water-soluble mercury and the non-water-soluble mercury contained in the gas can be captured and measured/analyzed in respective measurement systems in accordance with each chemical conformation. In addition, a concentration of the metal mercury and that of the water-soluble mercury in the gas can be continuously monitored in real time.

  • Patent number: 7114394
Abstract: A vibration test system for structures comprises a vibration exciter that vibrates a real model portion, a load meter that measures a load, and a computer that receives a numerical model representing a numerical model portion. The computer includes a block that calculates a displacement, which is made in a predetermined time after completion of measurement, according to a load value and an external force value. A signal production block produces a command signal using as a target value the displacement calculated by the displacement calculation block. A step control block controls the displacement calculation block and signal production block so that they will act cyclically. The displacement calculation block uses an ?OS method to time integrate a solution of a vibrational equation.

Abstract: Biomass, including waste biomass, is gasified by a process in which the biomass is first carbonized, and the char and pyrolysis gas from the carbonizer are respectively fed to a high temperature gasifying part and a gas reformer part of a two-stage gasifier. A gasifying agent is continuously fed to the gasifying part, and intermittently fed to the gas reformer, to maintain the temperature required to avoid tar formation in the gas reformer stage. Multiple carbonization chambers are operated in rotation. When the carbonization/gasification apparatus is used to provide fuel to an electric power generator set, exhaust heat from the generator power plant is fed back to the carbonizer, and can be supplemented by exchange of heat from the gas delivered to generator power plant from the outlet of the gasifier.
