  • Patent number: 11589250
Abstract: Methods and systems for citizens broadband radio service (CBRS) interference management using dual subscriber identification module (SIM) devices are described. The method includes assigning a physical cell identity (PCI) to each CBRS device (CBSD) granted unlicensed spectrum by a spectrum access system (SAS). Each spectrum granted CBSD may exchange PCIs with neighbor spectrum granted CBSDs to resolve PCIs and maintains a PCI table. A dual SIM device may be connected to a CBSD via a first SIM. Each spectrum granted CBSD having a connected dual SIM device reports a number of PCIs detected by the dual SIM device(s). A SAS designated dual SIM device may use a second SIM to measure power values of PCIs detected by the designated dual SIM device which are absent from a provided PCI table. The measured power values may be used by the SAS to make cluster interference decisions.

  • Patent number: 11589218
Abstract: A first dual SIM user equipment (UE) has a first wireless connection to first Citizens Broadband radio Services Devices (CBSD) of a first network and a second wireless connection to a second CBSD of a second network. Different encryption and different frequency hopping patterns are used with regard to communicating the same voice packet information over the first and second wireless connections. The same voice information is attempted to be redundantly communicated over the two connections, e.g. concurrently or with a slight delay with regard to the two connections. The CBRS communications are typically less reliable than cellular licensed spectrum communications, and a particular encrypted voice packet may, and sometimes is lost; however, the redundancy is used to compensate for expected losses. Successfully recovered encrypted voice packets are sent from the CBSDs to a packet synchronizer which performs decryption and combines the recovered packets into a single packet stream.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to identify defects in a cable plant including a cable comprises a carriage and a roller attached to the carriage. The roller is configured to sit on a cable plant. A motor is attached to the carriage and is coupled to the roller to cause rotation of the roller in at least a first direction, to cause movement of the carriage across the cable plant. A transmitter is attached to the carriage and an antenna is coupled to the transmitter. The antenna is configured to emit an RF signal under the control of the transmitter. If there is a defect in the cable, the RF signal may enter the cable through a defect. Detection of the RF signal in the cable is indicative of the presence of a defect in the cable and the location of the defect. Methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11570505
Abstract: A system includes a primary playback system and a secondary playback system. The primary playback system plays back selected content. The secondary playback system plays back supplemental media associated with the content played back on the primary playback system. A media playback function (such as associated with the secondary playback system) monitors playback of the content on the primary playback system. For example, a first processing thread of the media playback function initially synchronizes playback of supplemental media on the secondary playback system with respect to playback of the content on the primary playback system. Based on further monitoring of playing back the content on the secondary playback system, a second processing thread of the media playback function verifies synchronization (and, when needed, initiates re-synchronization) of playback of the supplemental media on the secondary playback system with respect to playback of the content on the primary playback system.

  • Patent number: 11570037
Abstract: Systems and methods for evaluating a customer premise equipment (CPE) device. A network element management system may send an alteration request to a configurable coaxial tap. The alteration request may cause the configurable coaxial tap to alter the characteristics of the configurable coaxial tap and/or to manipulate the radio frequency (RF) characteristics of a CPE device coupled to the configurable coaxial tap. The network element management system may receiving impaired operation reports from a cable modem termination system (CMTS), and send an un-alteration request to the configurable coaxial tap. The un-alteration request may cause the configurable coaxial tap to undo the alterations to the characteristics of the configurable coaxial tap or to undo the manipulated RF characteristics of the CPE. The network element management system may receive and use information the CMTS to determine modem-tap-port correlations and the physical location of the CPE.

  • Patent number: 11564158
Abstract: According to one configuration, a shared wireless access node supports wireless access for multiple wireless network service providers. A mobile communication device receives notification of multiple wireless network service providers, each of which provides access to a remote network through the shared wireless access node. The notification includes connection information such as priority information assigned to the wireless network service providers. The priority information indicates an order in which to select amongst the multiple available wireless network service providers to access the remote network. Based at least in part on the priority information, the mobile communication device selects a wireless network service provider amongst the multiple wireless network service providers.

  • Patent number: 11562580
Abstract: A customer premises parking system including one or more cameras and wireless communications transmission capability is described. The presence of a vehicle with a license plate at an entrance or exit of a parking area is detected and one or more high resolution images are captured and time stamped. A license plate portion of the HD image is captured and stored. The license plate number and corresponding time is determined and communicated using a wide area wireless network. The HD license plate portion of the image is processed to produce a low resolution version of the license plate image which is segmented and processed into fragments which are transmitted via the wide area network using available transmission opportunities. A high resolution version of the license plate portion is stored at the premises where the parking facilitate is located and can be retrieved via a cellular wireless interface in the event of a dispute or discrepancy with regard to the detected and reported license plate number.
